Schumer: “The American people really don’t care” about pork; Obama: “The American people don’t need to be convinced;” Final passage vote: 61-37
The Senate is about to pass the Turbaconducken stimulus package. Sen. Schumer took to the floor about 20 minutes ago to fear-monger. He referred shamelessly to the “economic 9/11″ and wagged his bony finger at Republican dissenters.
“You lost,” Sen. Schumer sneered. Besides, he taunted, the “American people really don’t care” about all those “little tiny, yes, porky amendments” that the “chattering classes” have exposed:
Sixteen seconds packed with trademark liberal contempt, self-delusion, and oily arrogance.
Easy to claim the American people “don’t care” when your voicemail and e-mailboxes are clogged with messages that will never be heard or read before the next rush to judgment takes place.

Who cares? You care. Raise your voices.

President Obama is also turning up his nose at millions of Americans skeptical of this colossal rip-off.
Pressing for urgency, President Barack Obama ventured into another hard-hit, Republican-leaning area on Tuesday to prod Congress to stop debating an emergency economic deal and just get it done.
Coming off a prime-time news conference, Obama was holding his second town hall event in as many days. The tenor of his remarks was to be much the same as Monday’s in another economically staggering area, Elkhart, Ind., which is also a Republican stronghold.
En route to Florida, Obama said “The American people don’t need to be convinced” about the need for action.
There is no dissent in Obama’s America.

Anti-climax: 12:46pm Eastern. The final passage vote in the Senate on Turbaconducken: 61-37. The Turncoat Caucus – Specter, Snowe, and Collins – joined the Dems. Cornyn came back from his NYC trip to cast a no vote. Gregg abstained.
Now, it’s off to the House-Senate conference backrooms to stuff more pork back in.

Are we suprised at any of this from the liberals and democrats? I am not they have been dumbing several generations down while trying and somewhat succeeding at drugging several generations up. Obama is part of my generation and is continuing the destruction of the American intellect and ingenuity.
It will be generations before this mess gets straightened out, unless we go down the drain first.
See? Heres the deal.
Im thinking Conservatives are like Christians were 1500 years ago. They are all quiet and passive and all…… and then all of a sudden things like the Crusades happen and they snap and kick everyones a$$ all over the place.
Then they had to go and apologize to everyone because the the other side pi$$ed ‘em off so bad for a few hundred years.
Should we just apologize to the Libs now – and go ahead and start the Consevative Crusades so my grandkids dont have to feel bad?
Any chance Schumer might get hit by the bus Obama’s driving?
The man has absolutely no scruples. OUT!
Ignatius! We can’t wait for that to happen! We must take to the streets now! The left has been taking to the streets for decades. They have taken it to the schools and universities. They have taken it to the media. NOW is the time for action.
I’ve organized a protest, permit and all, against this bill. It is in Seattle on President’s Day. Please, please, please attend if you are in the area, and if you are not – HOLD YOUR OWN!!! The more they see that we ARE NOT going away, the stronger we will be and we will grow in numbers. Loud numbers.
The Audacity of Corruption continues.
Brazen and sneering.
libertybelle,
Absolutely! We should take to the streets ~now~ with loud, but peaceful, protest. (I was referring to a later point in time when we may need to go into the streets not merely to protest but to dissolve the political bands which have connected us with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle us.)
Nice work on organizing in Seattle!
Here is the take-home quote from the Camille Paglia column that Drudge is linking: But the bottom line is that government surveillance of the ideological content of talk radio is a shocking first step toward totalitarianism.
I stepped in some schumer the other day. I had to scrape it off my shoe. It was a mess and stunk to high heaven. I wasn’t sure I’d ever get rid of it. Finally I had to throw away my shoes.
I don’t know how the people of New York can live with schumer all the time!
My two senators, both democrat and supposedly ‘blue-dog’, were finally reached by a caller and both denied knowledge of any healthcare provisions in the bill. Imagine that! As the architect Daschle put it in his book…(paraphrased) stick it into a spending bill so as not to be noticed by the public.
No.
Just kick a$$, then walk away.

Gotta love this poster.
He doesn’t even know any American people.
There should be a change in how bills are passed. I for one want to see singular bills passed Where, we the people, can get some transparency. This cramming stuff in under should be unlawful.
New bumper sticker…”PROUD member of the chattering class of 2009!” I only ask that I get royalties if anyone runs with this idea! And Chucky…thanks for the compliment, you slimy, disgusting SOB.
What’s the matter, Chucky? Us “chattering class” types not going along with the rest of the herd, Cowboy? You’ve got good reason to to mention us. You’ve messed with the Bull — now here come the horns!
This American Person: “Obama needs to be convicted”
Schumer’s response to the (viral) YouTube clip:
I’m glad that’s settled.
That’s grossly unfair. Sean (from my neck of the woods) often disappoints me by pandering to Whoopi and Sharpton for ratings, but in the McCain support case it was a simple pragmatic matter of no choice. In a desert you race the horse you’re saddled with. I’m FAR more disappointed and disgusted by the political-philosophical purists whose specious balking wouldn’t vote/vote for McCain. I’m (still) a Thompson guy so I held no love for McCain, but he would’ve been infinitely preferable to what we have now. America hasn’t seen the beginning of his social conversion yet. Every dog has its day, so finally now it’s the “lower classes” turn, and that “leveling the playing field” is going to be irreversible. Pork is Good because Pork IS Jobs, and jobless and cynical (and some lazy) Americans are going to eat that up with relish. It’s happening in schools right here in NYC; via Obama the Dems snatched the black crown of ultimate emancipation from the Repub’s Lincoln who no longer counts anymore (Hey, it’s our fault — we could’ve ran Powell way back when he was hot and sane!). I’m watching kids coming home from school singing the praises of Obama and anything Green while Bush’s classroom photos are burning in ashcans. So yea, Chucky’s right; We royally lost — or more like royally dropped the ball, and it’s not coming back. America will be too hooked on the teats to pull away. Ask a Swede if they want to lose their nanny state. The Dems aim to lock America into that mindset, our wallets and culture be damned.
Brave New America.
Pity our corrupted kids.

So,we can add “delusional, lying piece of $%&t to his resume. The adjectives just keep coming. This is typical libtard…be recorded on video for all the world to see, then deny saying it. And what is even more frightening, these people believe what they say. How do you fight something like that?
