Schumer: “The American people really don’t care” about pork; Obama: “The American people don’t need to be convinced;” Final passage vote: 61-37
The Senate is about to pass the Turbaconducken stimulus package. Sen. Schumer took to the floor about 20 minutes ago to fear-monger. He referred shamelessly to the “economic 9/11″ and wagged his bony finger at Republican dissenters.
“You lost,” Sen. Schumer sneered. Besides, he taunted, the “American people really don’t care” about all those “little tiny, yes, porky amendments” that the “chattering classes” have exposed:
Sixteen seconds packed with trademark liberal contempt, self-delusion, and oily arrogance.
Easy to claim the American people “don’t care” when your voicemail and e-mailboxes are clogged with messages that will never be heard or read before the next rush to judgment takes place.

President Obama is also turning up his nose at millions of Americans skeptical of this colossal rip-off.
Pressing for urgency, President Barack Obama ventured into another hard-hit, Republican-leaning area on Tuesday to prod Congress to stop debating an emergency economic deal and just get it done.
Coming off a prime-time news conference, Obama was holding his second town hall event in as many days. The tenor of his remarks was to be much the same as Monday’s in another economically staggering area, Elkhart, Ind., which is also a Republican stronghold.
En route to Florida, Obama said “The American people don’t need to be convinced” about the need for action.
There is no dissent in Obama’s America.

Anti-climax: 12:46pm Eastern. The final passage vote in the Senate on Turbaconducken: 61-37. The Turncoat Caucus – Specter, Snowe, and Collins – joined the Dems. Cornyn came back from his NYC trip to cast a no vote. Gregg abstained.
Now, it’s off to the House-Senate conference backrooms to stuff more pork back in.

Dear Mr. Schumer, you arrogant ass, maybe you can educate me on how in the hell you know what I care and do not care about since I have never met you, do not plan on meeting you, and could care less about meeting you. Let me help you. It’s because you are a fool with a runaway ego, which seems to be the prerequisite for congresspeople. Or, let me put it another way, you are a useless, overpaid, underworked professional ass-kisser with no net value at all except maybe for small skin grafts.

Actually, I have derived a bit of gelt in the service of my profession and country and have put it away all over the map, including my preservation hole. Even if everything collapses to zero, I will have much remaining. I am old enough to have lived through Carter and am prepared to do it again if necessary. The funny thing about that is the people that elected him still supported him a second time. Maybe Dwight Sshrute would have done that too.

The Fox news Fox Meygan (?) asked Senator Spector if he was aware there is a national health bill tucked in the “Stick it to ‘em” bill. He had no idea, what a bunch of lame voters in Pennsylvania.
In the bill, if your older or infirmed and need possible expensive care or experimental procedure, your Dr’s records on you are audited, they must get the financial ok from “big brother” before any medical help is administered or NOT. That’s where the zero’s idea of computerizing all medical records comes in, even if it is a breach of the Dr. patient confidentiality. Government euthanasia, the Odumbo way.

The protest against the porkulus is on for President’s Day!
Date: Monday, February 16th
Time: 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Where: Westlake Park in downtown Seattle, 401 Pine St., in the open area by the big arch.
The idea is to use what we’ve learned about dissent over the last eight years. We need loud protests with lots noise and visuals. So, what should you bring?
Bring AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN! Bring your families, your friends, neighbors, bring everyone!
Bring SIGNS!! Get those craft making juices flowing and make signs and banners and pictures and paintings. Just imagine that you are a left-wing college student with nothing else to do and that should help you get started!
Bring something to sit on and appropriate clothing.
Most importantly, JUST BRING IT!!!

Wall Street tanks. If this package is so wonderful, someone needs to tell Wall Street.
What goes down goes back up, though there is often a lot of violence involved in the process. If we get a real Depression and many are left with little to lose…BOOM!
Sorry to say this, but since America elected Obama we’re going to see a lot more stupid things. We might as well all get used to screaming into the wilderness and watching America go down the tubes anyway.

Amen. The only thing I would challenge is your lumping Hannity and Limbaugh with Michelle. Unlike Michelle, they both caved once McCain won the nomination and became instant Republican party whores. I will never EVER listen to Hannity again. Limbaugh wasn’t as bad but he DID cave. Michelle, to her great credit, hung tough to the bitter end. Principles now matter more than ever and Michelle proved her chops.
I’m with you. This is a CONSERVATIVE website, not a Republican website. In fact, I think it is now the only one left. If the “Republican Uber Alles” crowd finds this site disloyal to the Republican party, they can go to Townhall where it’s “all RINOs, all the time”. You will find Michael Medved, Hugh Hewitt and Matt Lewis much more to your liking. It’s the official HQ for “the other Democratic Party.”

He was real squishy on amnesty until he understood the fierce opposition of the base. He always liked McCain, and, like Hewitt, he was congenial with guests like Specter and Graham. (Laura Ingraham has guests like that, too, but she scorches them!)
Bennett has a great sidekick in Seth and his show has a nice laid-back feel, which works in the early morning. The audience is very conservative so Bennett plays the good old boy talking about country music and such. He’s bogus, though. Nothing but a RINO.

(I was referring to a later point in time when we may need to go into the streets not merely to protest but to dissolve the political bands which have connected us with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle us.)

That’s grossly unfair. Sean (from my neck of the woods) often disappoints me by pandering to Whoopi and Sharpton for ratings, but in the McCain support case it was a simple pragmatic matter of no choice. In a desert you race the horse you’re saddled with. I’m FAR more disappointed and disgusted by the political-philosophical purists whose specious balking wouldn’t vote/vote for McCain. I’m (still) a Thompson guy so I held no love for McCain, but he would’ve been infinitely preferable to what we have now. America hasn’t seen the beginning of his social conversion yet. Every dog has its day, so finally now it’s the “lower classes” turn, and that “leveling the playing field” is going to be irreversible. Pork is Good because Pork IS Jobs, and jobless and cynical (and some lazy) Americans are going to eat that up with relish. It’s happening in schools right here in NYC; via Obama the Dems snatched the black crown of ultimate emancipation from the Repub’s Lincoln who no longer counts anymore (Hey, it’s our fault — we could’ve ran Powell way back when he was hot and sane!). I’m watching kids coming home from school singing the praises of Obama and anything Green while Bush’s classroom photos are burning in ashcans. So yea, Chucky’s right; We royally lost — or more like royally dropped the ball, and it’s not coming back. America will be too hooked on the teats to pull away.
