it’s called investigative reporting something with rare exception the msm has forgotten how to do…
Michelle is a shining example of how to report on a number of issues….
Turns out the Atlantic Ocean is only 250 miles wide…who knew?
Kind of reminds you of the forever lasting democrat presidential campaign for the chosen one doesn’t it?
Has oprah booked her yet?
Why I Left the News Biz and Continue to Utterly Distrust News Services. Lazy reporters regurgitating unreliable information. This does not surprise me one bit.
Well, I can do between 2 and 3 thousand pushups. Wanna see?
Okay, here goes…
1, 2, 3!
There, I did between “2″ and “3 thousand” pushups!
AP, write up a story on me!
As we use to say in the intelligence community. ” Trust but verify.”
Now I am at the point where I have to verify all the news. NYT, CBS, MSNBC, and AP are not the sharpest knives in the drawer.
When we find out that she is a distant relative of the President, it will all make sense.
she needs to get her victimhood retort going if she is indeed to become a good rank and file dem. like when they catch her lying, “your just going after me because i am a woman, if i were a man you never would have checked up on my miraculous feat.” or “it’s a vast right wing conspiracy to get me and my husband.”
I’d like to say I’m shocked that the AP put this out. I saw it either yesterday or the day before on CNNOnline. Called BS then, 2100 miles in 25 days indeed.
Chumps. Sometimes paying just the slightest little bit of attention to a subject can avoid some seriously embarassing situations.
Now remind me again why bloggers aren’t considered journalists?
Is it because they don’t have a slip of paper saying so? Because real world experience counts for a lot more than a sheepskin, especially when the media so constantly screw up and bloggers do the work (often for free) that these people get paid to do.
Does Dan Rather think this is “fake, but accurate”?
No- it’s called ten seconds, a calculator, and a brain.

Michelle, can you please “Trust but verify” that Barack Obama’s original birth certificate says that he was born in Hawaii?
I hope this will not overshadow my article of swimming under Antartica while holding my breath.
At 30 seconds per 50 yards, it would take 25.666 days to swim 2100 miles, without stopping.
I swam to Australia once. I mean, that’s where I started, but I got back the 100 feet or so ok.
Let’s be fair to the AP. Their only real jouralist is in the hospital with a burned leg…
Math??? Don’t expect them to do math!
See, it CAN be done.
Oh, wait …
she was in the water between 21 minutes and eight hours per day …
Never mind.
No doubt she rode the waves of the sea falling since obambi was sworn in.
I swam inbetween New Zealand and South America, THEN I swam inbetween New Zealand and Australia. (Piha beach is between the New Zealand shore and the Australian shore, and Takapuna beach is between New Zealand and South America)
Phelps wants a toke of whatever she was smoking.
Son,
did you fish at all? if not are you available for bait?
I was going to take a cruise to the Carribean. On second thought, think I’ll just swim there.
Add her to the long line of fakirs, tax cheats, and downright crooks in the Democrat party. The problem is, to them it’s a resume enhancement…unless your name is Blogjovich, and you are putting Chicago politics out there for the world to see how they do it in BO’s home town! That’s tantamount to calling him Dumbo. tsk tsk
#17…or how about at world record speed for 1500 meters (men) (little under a mile)
works out to very close to 15 minutes per mile.
21.88 days non-stop at world record (for only one mile)speed. Uh huh.
Why we shouldn’t let journalists teach math, or why we shouldn’t let lawyers make economic policy.
I was thinking more along the lines that the story would be “corrected” to reveal that she swam 250 miles, and walked on water the other 1850.
And is anyone surprised? Bueller? Bueller? Anyone?
I remember the days when the competition between the AP and the UPI meant we got real, researched, well-written news reports, but, then again, I’m old.
The resistance is here. The resistance is now. RESIST!
ECS
I heard Nacy Pelosi was going introduce a congressional resolution to congratulate her on incredible 2 million mile swim.
Only in the ocean, river fishing bores me.
That would not suprise me at all if she actualy did that.
YES SHE CAN!
…with a stimulus “loan” of $500 million, just so long as she passes out condoms when she stops swimming.
obambi’s first medal of honor lincoln center was beat out by oscars.
did anyone catch the black press whining that obambi used them as props?
funny stuff
Salt!!
MWAHAHAHAHA she can bunk with auntie zaningwa
Rag, your right. The keyword was a relative of the grand poobah. Maybe she’ll still get the book deal and a least be a guest on oprah.
Why not complain about things the press gets wrong that really matter? In the stimulus debate here are two whoppers:
1. “The CBO report said most of the stimulus would not be spent in two years.” There was no such report then. When the report did come out days later, it didn’t say that.
2. “Polls show that Americans do not support the stimulus.” That poll asked whether people support the way Congress was handling the stimulus. People said no, because they want Congress to stop negotiating with troglodyte Republicans and pass the thing. Recent polls asking whether you support the stimulus report that Americans do by 55/45.
old fish and some posters smell after 3 posts…… ( sorry ben )
I can’t wait until the Honolulu ~ Long Beach bridge-tunnel opens in June.

LGM… oh never mind…
Yes, yes, because the only mistakes that really matter are the ones that slant left, right, lgm?
We could likely go on forever about the mistakes the press has made about the stimulus. I’m willing to bet it wouldn’t be as favorable to your Democratic leadership, however, considering the speed and secrecy in which they are operating.
This is a funny story about how the editors at AP couldn’t be bothered to do back-of-the-napkin math to verify the story. As a math professor, even you can appreciate the humor there, no?
Do yourself a favor and stop pretending to be the arbiter of what is or is not worthy to discuss here.
hey – lgm – did you ever stop to think WHY 2+2 always = 4?
I’ll let you in on a little secret…it’s not by chance. Somebody – you might have heard of him – declared it so.
Or if that one is a little too abstract – how about gravity. Why does it always work the same way? How come? My answer is the same: The same “guy” declared it to be so.
So with that in mind – how then should you live? Do you want to try to invalidate all of the laws of “that guy” – or are you smarter than him?
Truth is truth whether or not you believe it.
Creditability of MSM is not officially -3,180,180
conservativesRus said (#48):
2+2=4 has nothing to do with anyone I may or may not have heard of. It’s true no matter what.
It’s not true in base 3.
What is the value of pi in hexadecimal. Who cares?
3.243F6A8885A308D31319…
The AP has fallen below the quality level of a mediocre high school newsletter.
had to ask didn’t i???
LOL
As opposed to gravity?
what the hell do they learn in college journalism classes anymore, since it isn’t journalism. What happened to the who, what, where, how and why?
I recall glancing at the story but my only thought at the time was that if true this person must have one hell of a cardio-vascular system. Indeed, she must be a mutant, like something out of the Watchman movie, a next step. So why wasn’t that the story?
Well, now we know.
I can jump higher than a house, but then again houses can’t jump.
Hey AP, me next.
Where I was at the motto was:
“In God we trust; all others we digitize, demodulate, and demultiplex.”
Well…. oddly enough…. it used to be! But who knew they were reporting this story 75 Million years too late.
(then again maybe we’ve just ran out of news and they’re recycling stories now)
