Thou shalt not mock Obama
Imagine the ACLU-led uproar if this suspended trooper had e-mailed photos mocking George Bush and Republicans on his own time and on his own computer:
An Iowa State trooper who was investigated after it was shown that he forwarded an e-mail showing mug shots of people wearing Obama t-shirts has been suspended for 30 days.
Sgt. Rodney Hicok was at home and off-duty when he forwarded the e-mails, said an official with the Iowa Department of Public Safety Bureau and Professional Standards.
The e-mail made disparaging remarks about 15 people in the photos and referred to Obama as having “quite a fan base.”
Hicok was not making a racial statement, the official said, but, rather, a political statement.
In a statement, Hicok said, “I am deeply sorry for my actions … I apologize to anyone this e-mail may have offended, as well as my family, citizens in my community and Iowa taxpayers.”
Hicok ended his statement by saying he guaranteed “nothing like this will ever happen again.”

Gee, criminals wearing BO T-shirts. Did they think that the T-shirt would protect them from the consequences of their crimes??? Maybe we should cut them some slack, because they won’t be able to work for ACORN if they are jailed.
The only BO T-shirt I’d wear has to have “Lame Duck POTUS” on it.
Tell him to send me the photos and i will do a mass email of them. I aint scared of the ACLU. What they going to do sue me ? Funny how an orginazation who is suppose to stand by the first amendment uses it to bash those who use it to voice an opinion they do not like. Where were they when people were doing this kind of thing to Sarah Palin ??

If officer Hicok isn’t sorry, he should have stood his ground. The rightwing media and blogosphere would prop him up, and make a sorta martyr out of him. If he is really sorry, then it “is what it is”. I don’t think he should have been suspended, but I’m not in Iowa, and I don’t know all of the details. The posters who attacked Obama based on this are asinine. May my soul be cured also.

At ABC, Terry Moran was downright libidinous when he interviewed Obama. After prefacing his question with an editorial about how partisan the Republicans are, Moran asked Obama: “Are you too nice to be president?” Obama chuckled and then bragged that: “Well I’m the one getting on Air Force One”.
Moran and Obama flirted like two girlfriends just back from a semester of college. Moran even smiled coyly at Obama’s reference to him as “Terry”. Moran seemed enraptured to be in the presence of The One. Moran even asked Obama what it was like to be a nonpartisan president when he (Obama) has to deal with Republicans who won’t be nonpartisan.
I’m not sure I can take much more of the “fawning” press. My spouse tells me to watch other channels besides FOX once in a while to see what the other side is saying. I simply can’t do it! I try, and 5 minutes later, my blood is boiling so much, I have to turn it off. I can only count on Rush and MM and others to tell me what is going on. And when I see videos of some of these “tools” in the msm, I am sickened. There is no longer any pretense at non-biased reporting. They don’t care who knows it. It will be interesting to see how they react to threats of the “fairness” doctrine. This would hurt them big time! And of course, they are losing viewers along with their credibility.

Was it his official government email? Some organizations have rules against anything not government business on government email. There was a story a few years ago about someone at NASA who got in trouble for using NASA email to exchange recipes.
Wasn’t this a spread of mugshots on the weekly mugshot roundup or yearly one at The Smoking Gun? I think I even forwarded that one in particular to some folks here at work. I suppose I should watch my back now.
Every time Obama makes a “I won” reference, he comes off as really immature.
