Hey, remember when Michelle Obama sneered at the $600 rebate checks?

By Michelle Malkin  •  February 12, 2009 10:02 AM

The tax cuts in Barack Obama’s Turbaconducken rescue and recovery plan work out to $13/week per family (and sink to $8/week in January).

I know. You hardly know what to do with that huge windfall.

Remember when Michelle Obama derided last year’s $600 rebate checks?

The Anchoress does.

What sayeth Mrs. Obama now?

What strikes me about the “Stimulus” is this: The cause of this recession was that people went on a spending binge, and ran up unsustainable amounts of debt to support it. Obama’s proposed solution is… running up unsustainable debt to support a spending binge.

He’s not fixing the problem, he’s digging a deeper hole.

And all his mindless followers can do is cheerlead because they’re side is “winning.”

Ah but this debt is government debt, paid by tax payers, instead of private debt paid by individual tax payers. Wait a minute that’s the same people. So workers will get a tax break of 9.61/wk only to have to pay it back with interest in the future. Yeah that’s the ticket.

my brother and i had both decided a few days ago when the crap sandwich contained 15k tax credit if you buya house and 15hundred tax credit if you buy a new car that between the two of us, we would buy 3 houses, 2 in kansas city area and 1 in fla. and 2 new cars. my brother has a daughter attending college in mo. but is scheduled to attend medical school next year in kansas, and she’s a legal citizen, so the difference between in state and out of state tuition is over 20k. this on top of the tax break was a big incentive for him. he also wanted to replace his wife’s aging gas guzzler. i wanted to buy my daughter a nicer home with a bigger yard for her child, and keep her home for my wife and i to stay in when we visit. but no, the politicians want to stimulate union laborers to dig new zoo attractions for our endangered polar bears and build schools in cities where enrollment is declining. you gotta love rational thinking.
