Michael Moore’s latest fishing expedition

By Michelle Malkin  •  February 12, 2009 03:38 PM

The left-wing propagandist Michael Moore is working on his next project — a documentary about America’s financial collapse. He’s trolling Daily Kos and Twitter in search of whistleblowers, and has posted a solicitation on his website.

I think it’s fairly safe to assume he won’t be grilling Barney Frank, Maxine Waters, Franklin Raines, Chris Dodd, Bill Clinton, or ACORN over their roles in creating the mess we are in now.

Go ahead. Surprise me.

Sure, buy & watch movies made by conservatives. Or better yet, fund them.

Liberal filmmakers have no shortage of resources to go to, to get a film funded. Their films don’t even have to make money to get funded.

Conservative filmmakers, on the other hand, get nothing, even if their films are profitable.

Fortunately, Mr. Moore’s “documentaries” as well as other far-left films, both fiction and (supposedly) non-fiction, are evidently not very potent “weapons”, if box-office numbers mean anything. All the Oscars and long-winded political acceptance speeches in the world can’t change that.

Do you just blame ACORN for everything, regardless of how absurd and empirically false it is? I know Republicans hate ACORN for mobilizing and empowering black voters, but for heaven’s sake at least attempt to keep your criticisms of it in the realms of reality!

It doesn’t matter whether ACORN are a “corrupt, partisan, race-grievance monger organization” (which they are not; you just dislike them because poor black people see the contempt Republicans have for them, and vote Democrat instead), there is no reasonable way to say that ACORN is a factor in this global financial crisis. Seriously, it’s absurd!

It wasn’t until the Dems. used race as a method of gaining party members did we drop out.

It’s like Republicans live in some fantasy world where hundreds of years of oppression and discrimination didn’t affect black communities in massive, massive ways and there’s no need to address this grave inequity that exists as a result. To do so, according to conservatives, is “race baiting” or whatever. And you guys wonder why black people don’t vote for you.

Also, if Michelle Malkin thinks it’s singularly Democrats (or like-minded Republicans) and leftist thought that has lead to this economic catastrophe, she really is living in a fantasy world. Neoliberalism (propped up by none other than that despicable, heartless Reagan so revered by conservatives) is now absolutely dead and will never be used again. Keep in mind neoliberalism is a product of right-wing greed.

getting loans for people who couldn’t pay them back…in other words, moron, they ARE a factor in this financial crisis..

I don’t need to get over anything. I’m white, heterosexual and my parents are wealthy Rhode Island aristocrats. I’ve never faced hardships the likes of which many black people do. However, unlike most Republicans, I try to understand and I can feel empathy. You should try out empathy sometime.

Funny that virtually every black employee of my company DOES share that view. Most here also believe that affirmative action is partly to blame for instilling a victim mentality in minorities, as well as a sense of entitlement.

I’ll let them know that they don’t actually think the way they say they do, because the omniscient Omu has said so. I’m sure they’ll be amused.

I feel empathy for those who are trying to improve their lives, and the lives of those around them. The rest? Those who believe themselves entitled, without an obligation to contribute? Not so much.

Again, in what reality are you all living? It’s not as easy as just telling poor people to behave as you want them to and “get a job”. It really isn’t that easy. There are always going to be poor, disadvantaged people in a society and as a progressive, I believe in social justice and I believe that these poor people are at least entitled to support from their government and am perfectly willing to allow a percentage of my taxes to go toward paying for that.

It’s so easy to just assume that “getting a job” is so easy and that pulling yourself up to the middle class is so easy, but it really isn’t. Believe me, I know the kind of people that just pretend poverty is a “annoyance” that would go away if those “lazy” poor people just “got a job”, and all such people need to do some serious maturing.

you just want to keep them enslaved to the government. your policies have failed repeatedly, and led to great misery, suffering, and death, for those poor people you say you care for.

I think you know this, but I think you don’t really care about people…this is all about making yourself feel good, at the expense of others…

    you are flat out evil.

Well, my parents are from New York state originally, I was born in Vermont and raised in Rhode Island, spent a decade living in Houston, TX and now I live in Dublin, Ireland. So I don’t really know how attached I feel to Rhode Island, to be honest :p But still, I did like growing up there (my parent’s wealth did allow for an excessively carefree lifestyle though, which I presume would have made living anywhere quite enjoyable!).

this is why the bible says ‘if you do not work, you do not eat’ and it doesn’t say anything about ‘unless you’re poor, or victim of racismsexismhomophobiabigotry’ because government that ‘cares’ for people, is the same government that enslaves people…
