Obama cultist of the day

By Michelle Malkin  •  February 16, 2009 01:16 PM

Do not read this on a full stomach. You have been warned:

“I see him like he’s my own son, and not in a funny way, either,” Dorothy Tisdale, a 73-year-old Peorian, said in reference to President Obama. She was the same woman who, after Obama’s motorcade passed her, said the experience was “better than having sex.”

I just returned from Walmart where I live and noticed two things that are as much of a fallout as this.

    1. There was no – None – NADA – ammo to be had. The person behind the counter said, “as soon as it comes in, it goes out. The manufacturer cannot make it fast enough to supply even Walmart.”

    2. They were clearing out the movie shelves and replacing the movies with three different Obama pieces.

    Give me the sex.

But seriously, folks, this is just a little too much “worship” of a human being, President though he may be, for me.

I think some people had worked themselves up to such hatred of our previous President that they may have had this kind of attitude toward whoever his successor turned out to be . . . provided that successor promised to be the ideological opposite of GWB, of course. Hence the worshipful attitude such as this lady or the stalkerish woman mouthing “I love you” at the town hall meeting.

Posts like this are why I believe you’re a GOP instigator. If you were really a liberal, you’d be content in knowing that the public went with your guy and that – for the time being – conservatives are pretty much stuck in the outhouse, and would just leave us here to wallow in our disappointment. Instead, you still come here to goad, prod and poke fun – why, if you’re not a GOP plant, continue to do this?

And really, “on paper?” Only a plant looking to stir things up would even suggest this, knowing that John McCain served years in a Vietnamese prison camp enduring real torture – not that trumped-up/water in the nose kind the Left whines like kindergartners about – so now that the election’s over, why bring it up?

I don’t have a problem with people “liking” Obama. I have a problem with people treating Obama like a Messiah.

My life as a person aware of the world around him beyond his backyard and front steps began in the early seventies, when the Watergate hearings were covered live on all three networks and interrupted my cartoon shows. To say there was cynicism about Washington D.C. at that time would be an understatement. That continued up until 2008, when Obama’s victory in the in the Iowa Caucuses gave birth to the notion that one man could, through his intelligence and by the force of his will, confer upon the entire world the ability to unite and solve the problems of the planet.

When asked why all of a sudden they had such faith in a prospective President, rather than being introspective, a disturbing percentage of people became defensive and accusatory, leaving the usual skepticism behind in favor of baseless assumptions and suppositions about his sincerity and accomplishments. The fact that he was the least experienced candidate since Herbert Hoover to win a major party nomination meant nothing. Neither did his total lack of executive experience, his resume of hard-leftism that contradicted his bipartisan rhetoric, or the reality that neither he nor his supporters were able to demonstrate what he’s done that qualified him to be Commander-in-Chief.

We’re coming up on one month of the Obama Era, and nothing has happened that helps answer those questions. Even Kathleen Parker is bewildered, but you might not know that because nobody in the MSM wants to talk to her now that she’s through bashing Sarah Palin.

There are obsessed fans everywhere of the most obscure celebrities and athletes (e.g. Luke Walton, bench player for the L.A. Lakers). There are people who make foolish life choices about whom they choose to love (e.g. 24-year-old Christina Raines, engaged to [alleged] double-wife murdering crooked cop Drew Peterson). That’s their problem, not mine. But when someone elects a cult leader the “Leader of the Free World,” it’s a problem for all of us.

You don’t understand how Obama got elected. I don’t understand how Bush got elected. Welcome to the world of mystery.

ODS! I don’t see anything remotely approaching what I would call a derangement syndrome like we saw with BDS sufferers who wanted/want to kill the man. Hardly a derangment to dislike a man vs. wanting to see him dead.

And as far as Bush getting elected. Please! This one is to easy.
Choice #2 was Al Gore! What’s the mystery? 2nd time around the choice #2 was Kerry. Hell! That one was even easier to understand than Gore.

And why did Obama win? Because McSame/Palin was about as bad a choice as what the left put up the last 2 times. Obviously the last 3 elections have been the lesser of 2 evils to the people. Pretty much like every presidential election. Where’s the mystery?

What the hell are you talking about?

I in fact did watch Reagan’s funeral motorcade go by from the Capitol to the Cathedral, as I recall. It was on Pennsylvania Ave, where my law firm’s office used to be located. As I recall there was a light rain that day. And I did spot Nancy in the limo (or hearst, don’t remember which) transporting her.

Believe it or not, it was a historic and somber moment for me to.

God,you are a retard sometimes. Scratch that. Most of the time.

Rooster, I believe you misunderstood the context of Chap’s original post. I did not read it as disrespectful.

The last sentence was a bit awkward given the context, Chap, but I understood it as someone demonstrating respect and a sense of loss over a president, even one with whom he might not have agreed politically. The timing of the comment might have been a little… off. :)

Instead, you still come here to goad, prod and poke fun – why, if you’re not a GOP plant, continue to do this?

The hard right, by controlling the Republican party, is turning the US into a one party country. I’m not a conservative, but a healthy conservative opposition would make America stronger. Instead, Republicans spend their time being infuriated at old ladies who find Obama attractive.

the man was elected President facing someone who on paper seemed more qualified.

And really, “on paper?” Only a plant looking to stir things up would even suggest this, knowing that John McCain served years in a Vietnamese prison camp enduring real torture.

The campaign proved that war hero John McCain was not up to running the country. He had the courage and patriotism, but not the judgment (Palin).

Awwww….were your widdle feewings hurt cause I made a very mild joke, perfectly in context with the thread, about your favowite pwesident? Do you want a cookie and some warm milk?

Let me tell you what I think of Reagan and see if you can follow, mouth- breather. I was between the ages of 4 and 11 when he was president, so I was entirely too young to have any real opinion of him, so pardon me if I am not overly sentimental about the guy. He is believed by many to be a great president. I suppose that is true in some ways. He is believed by most to be a beloved president, and I can certainly see why. He universally considered an important president, love him or hate him. His passing was a very historic moment, and I was pleased I got my chance to stand on that street and pay respect in what little way I could. It is truly one of the great privileges of living in DC to have such opportunities sometimes literally at your doorstep.

But if you want to talk about a Messiah complex when it comes to Presidents, you better check yourself there. I made a joke, riffing off the one time I have seen anything close to a Presidential motorcade, that wasn’t even at the expense of the late President, but more of the expense of our orgasmic Ms. Tisdale. And not anywhere did I express any sort of enjoyment at the man’s passing. And the sad thing is, you know this too. You are trying to make something out of nothing because you are an intellectually dishonest chest-thumping e-a$$hole, who can hide behind your anonymity and use the internet to work out your passive-aggressive issues.

But I suppose I’d rather you take out your frustrations over your own inadequacies on me in this forum, rather than you going off and beating on your wife or kids, so kudos to you for that, I guess.

Nonsense. It was about the un-sexiness of Nancy Reagan.

And lets not go freaking starting to judge the tastefulness of jokes or posts, at anyone’s expense, on THIS thread where we have had such winners as:

And you quoting a woman using explicit terms for oral sex, just to name a few.

That was a quote from a MSM reporter. It’s a notable line because it illustrates how liberal women — in the media and out — did a 180 degree spin, refusing to see sexual harassment and misogyny where it existed (Bill Clinton) rather than where it didn’t (Clarence Thomas) because abortion rights were thought to be at stake.

Who the hell was everyone making fun of in this post? Huh? One uses various references and jumping points, but IT ALL HAD TO DO WITH MAKING FUN OF THE WOMAN IN THE ARTICLE. If anything, I could maybe be accused of a necrophiliac joke. Still wrong, but at least that would keep the proper context of the thread, which was ABOUT PRESIDENTS. Leave the armchair psychoanalysis to someone else Smithee.

I’ve seen very high ranking government officials through limo windows. Very clearly. The dark tinting isn’t a requirement and not all limousines have it.
