Thought you might find this interesting – according to the info I found on Boeing’s website and elsewhere, the 747-200 that operates as Air Force One uses anywhere from 5 to 7 gallons of fuel per mile, depending on how full it is. At roughly 1500 miles from DC to Denver, that’s at least 15,000 gallons of fuel round trip. There are 33.4 kilowatt hours of energy in a gallon of fuel, meaning this trip will use about 500,000 kilowatt hours of energy. According to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science’s own website, their solar installation has generated only 90,000 kilowatt hours of energy since it was installed last June!

Suddenly my 18 MPG SUV doesn’t see so bad, yet is apparently much worse than The One’s photo op.

At 500,000kW, that is enough to power 17,241.4 homes for one day. That is the size of most moderate towns in the U.S. that Der Fuhrer will be flying over to sign the American Socialist Manifesto…with all those Chattering Fools clutching their Bibles and guns below him.
Now, as I recall, every time Bush flew somewhere, there were any number of talking heads and news stories produced concerning all the damage Bush was doing to the environment and how much more could be done with the money he spent traveling etc.
While I have no idea why Der Fuhrer needs to fly all the way from Chicago…where he flew to have dinner…all the way back to Washington via Andrews to the helicopter, back on the helicopter to Andrews and then to Colorado for a few minutes and then back to Andrews etc. just to sign the first document designed to bring about the end of this nation, I am sure that any number of trolls here can explain it to us in logical, well thought out and concise explanations that lack foul language and hyperbole.
I dunno…maybe he wants to go skiing. After all, what with all the vacations he has already taken in the 4 weeks since the FIRST time he took the Oath of Office, I am sure he needs a little break. After all, just 4 days ago we were on the brink of complete collapse and utter chaos and anarchy. That bill needed to be signed immediately, so urgent it was that he told Congress they did not have time to read it…just pass it. Well, those 4 days since must have been incredibly stressful on him, as he anxiously prayed and hoped that the country would hold together for just a few more days until he could get his skis waxed and sharpened and MichelleO could find just the right snow bunny outfit to wear that would match the shower curtains in the White House.
Note also, that while the Libs whined and complained ad nauseum about President Bush taking a vacation, they have not uttered one peep about Der Fuhrer spending almost half the last 4 weeks “resting”. After all…walking on water takes a lot out of a guy.

It was just my thought that the argument on the mode of transportation of a president should not solely be based on fuel efficiency. Yes it may cost more than the preferred mode of travel of enviro-nitwits (AKA conservationist) like me which we all know is the solar powered beanie w/propeller, however due to cloudy conditions the Secret Service my not deem that safe for Obama or ANY president. I Know, just because every president since Nixon has preached energy conservation AND flown on the big plane, somehow that makes it an invalid moral argument.
And by the way, I try not to confuse NOAA, GODDARD, IPCC. and NCDC with “It snowed the earth is colder Inofe”.
Well…that collision between French and British submarines (both carried missles with nuclear warheads) should send a message to our friends, our enemies, our Commander In Chief, what firepower and “peace through strength” really means.

It’s not that Obama flew to Denver to sign the theft act.
It’s the fact that he preaches about becoming green, yet turns his thermostat.
He rails against Wall Street executives for spending taxpayer money on bonuses and lavish lifestyles, and then he uses taxpayer money to throw parties at the white house and fly himself and Michelle to Chicago so they can have Valentine’s dinner.
He tells CEO’s of the big 3 car companies to carpool to save energy, but he’ll fly 3/4 of the way across the country for a 1 hour photo op.
I don’t mind him doing all this, but, if he’s going to do it I want him to stop telling me how to live my life.
I feel for you. These enviromental policies are wearing me down. So which are you, a Wall Street executive or car company CEO?
Isn’t it funny that temperatures over the U.S. rose by 1.1 degrees celsius during that time. They supected the contrails reflected solar energy.
It’s ironic that the greenies would ground all aircraft if they had their way because of the greenhouse gas myth, when in fact, planes help keep us cooler.
We are the people he told can no longer expect to turn on our home A/C and have our homes at a comfortable temperature. We are the ones told we should not expect to drive in whatever vehicle we wish to purchase, etc..

Let me see…trees use CO2 to live, converting it into O2 for us to breathe as it is a mandatory requirement to sustain all animal life on the planet.
Libs and Enviro-nazis are leading an all-out campaign to STOP the production of CO2 in a misguided effort to eliminate a mythical “Global Warming” disaster.
However, were they to succeed, all life on this planet would cease to exist, for even humans use CO2 to breathe, amongst a great and vast number of other issues such a thing would cause.
Why is it that people blindly listen to and follow people who so obviously do not even have the knowledge concerning the importance of CO2 that an elementary school child learns in science/biology class?

Seens to me that the trees and plants did okay without the help of the CO2 we produce. This is such a logically absurd argument. Setting aside whether or not increased CO2 does have a negative effect, just because something is good, beneficial or even necessary at one level does not mean that more and more and more of it is as good or better. After all, we all need some amount of fat and sugar in our diet to survive. I would not suggest just pumping as much into you as you can fit.
You really think they are actually teaching science anymore? Heck no! It’s much more important to teach about things like same sex marriage, and reading books like Heather Has Two Mommies!

Not only that, back when plants first evolved, CO2 was MUCH higher than now. In 600 million years there were only two relatively brief periods when CO2 was below 400 PPM. One was back ~380 million years ago and the other is right NOW! Plants are CO2 impoverished.

It’s all in how you report it. Read the headline and it says January was the warmest on record. Look at the state by state data and you’ll see that most states were below normal and two even had record lows. Of course, people don’t provide funding to find out why everything is normal, do they?

Government HACKS! The MSU data is calibrated ONCE against a SINGLE standard – satellite data is the one source of data that the HACKS have a VERY difficult time justifying any adjustments. In other words … their claims are NOT based on RAW temperature data! They kept hanging on to the ‘hockey stick’ chart until it was PROVEN by Steve McIntyre to be false. Now they hang on this ‘Antarticia is warming’ but it’s already been discovered that their result is NOT based on unadulterated time contiguous temperature data – they STITCHED together data from various temperature stations and claim that they properly adjusted the result – they did not. NEITHER station shows warming but when you put them together in time they show warming!
You know where James Hansen can STUFF his lame adjustments…

I remebr an article a while back from a guy who was traveling and checking on these surface stations. He found one that was on the roof of a building with the A/C unit blowing hot air on it.
What really says it all and bears repeating is that the global warming alarmist’s best friend is actually UBANIZATION. With over 2/3 of the US climate monitoring stations surveyed, (rigorously – bullet proof, with photos and diagrams for every station), OVER FIFTY-EIGHT PERCENT OF THEM HAVE AN ARTIFICIAL HEAT SOURCE WITHIN 10 METERS!!!
That’s estimated to introduce an error of AT LEAST TWO DEGREES (C).
… remind me again … how many degrees of global warming did the IPCC say occurred over the last century?
