The next anti-porkulus protest: Mesa, Arizona

By Michelle Malkin  •  February 17, 2009 06:23 PM

First, Seattle.

Then Denver.

Next stop: Mesa, Arizona.

President Obama will be there tomorrow to push his massive mortgage entitlement expansion.

The opposition will not be silenced.

KFYI is taking the lead. Go here for all the details.

I’d kick in for another round of pulled pork for the protesters, but Obama just mortgaged my kids’ future. Need to save.

Heartfelt thank you MM for all you do. You’ve been all over the place today and still find time to thread after thread. Your throwing in the pork today is one of those priceless moments in politics, American style.

It’s unlikely any of us are going to have any “change” in our pockets after the full weight of this fiasco is implemented, but I’d also suggest you hang onto every cent you can. MM is right thinking about savings, for whatever obligations you might have in the future – we all need to pull in for that rainy day that’s here!

Letget, perhaps that would be a great campaign commercial in 2010. Show a picture of the Congressman-Congresswoman running for reelection with a voiceover saying this is the person that brought you the stimuluous bill even though all these people (and cut to different pictures of different protests) said no. Wouldn’t you rather have a Congressman/Congresswoman who listened to the voters rather than someone who thinks they know what is best for you?

Considering how little MSM coverage the Seattle event received (none), any national publicity would good publicity.

Or maybe we should use cabbages instead flour, like in that Monty Python WWI skit when the Brits bomb the Germans with cabbages.

Off topic but there really should be more coverage of the CA budget stand-off drama going on. The Senate Republicans are defying their party leadership by refusing to provide the necessary last vote to approve the suicidal tax-and-spend bill. It is a perfect microcosm for what ails the GOP nationally, leaders are out of step.

I am rooting for them to stand tough and force the government to shut down. If the socialists refuse to pare back the 40% growth in government despite a shrinking population, the Republicans can force the issue in another way. Forced lay-offs.

11 1/2% sales tax in LA. 5% surtax. Doubling auto registration fees. That’s just the start. Voters across the spectrum are livid. Stay tuned.

Cal City: it may be only one vote but Republicans are greatly outnumbered here and the state committee is very liberal. The stalemate is only possible thanks to the state law requiring a super majority to approve the annual budget. The Dems are not getting away with it this year because it is getting so much press which is making voters aware of what goes on in Sacramento. This is working against them. We need a new GOP in CA as in DC.

Yay!!!! This is so great. I notice a lot of people saying, “what about in my city…?” YOU do it!! Seriously!!! I said the same thing for a long, long time, and no one ever did it. Just call up your police department or the parks department and ask how you can obtain a protest permit. Then call any conservative talk radio stations in your city, post it here, I’ll post it, post it on other blogs, etc., and pretty soon it will be ALL OVER THE WEB! Email your friends, your city, county, and state Republicans, and just keep calling. Call any think tanks or policy institutes, second amendment groups, libertarian groups, etc. YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE PLUNGE or no one else will.

Some other good news: in addition to the emails I got from people at the Seattle rally, I have received 75 more via my blog. That means the Seattle Action Network has approximately 200 people signed up in just over 24 hours.

    You can do it too!!!
