The Senate Republicans are defying their party leadership by refusing to provide the necessary last vote to approve the suicidal tax-and-spend bill. It is a perfect microcosm for what ails the GOP nationally, leaders are out of step.

    I am rooting for them to stand tough and force the government to shut down. If the socialists refuse to pare back the 40% growth in government despite a shrinking population, the Republicans can force the issue in another way. Forced lay-offs.
