Mesa, Arizona: Anti-porkulus protesters raise their voices

By Michelle Malkin  •  February 18, 2009 01:36 PM

Seattle. Denver. Now, as I mentioned yesterday, Mesa, Arizona. Those “chattering classes” are everywhere, aren’t they, Schmucky?

With talk radio powerhouse KFYI leading the way, more than 500 protesters showed up to protest President Obama’s spending binges.

What about you?

More than 500 protest Obama’s arrival

With signs in hand, protests await President’s arrival in Mesa

David Crause, 70, Phoenix, held up a sign scrawled with writing that was too difficult to make out quickly. But he left no doubt where he stood as he criticized Obama’s stimulus plan.

“We can’t borrow and spend our way out of a crisis that that got us into,” Crause said.”Free markets work.”Crause said he wasn’t there to see Obama, but to register a protest, saying, “I can see him on TV, and I can shut it off.”

Jack Clark, 50, Gilbert, held a sign taller than he is that protested the stimulus. It read: “Personal Responsibility: RIP 2009.”

Wearing a T-shirt with a picture of the late President Ronald Reagan that said “Right,” Clark said he wanted to give the president a piece of his mind.

“I’m somewhat disgusted by the reaction of the country,” he said of economic stimulus efforts. “A lot of what’s happening here is people being irresponsible.”

Sad fact: those in power don’t care and never will. By the time elections roll around most will have forgotten this, if they even knew about it to begin with.

Way to go Jack. Only one thing I’d like to change. I’d change “irresponsible” to S-T-U-P-I-D for voting for this Marxist.

Love the sign posted above too.

Perhaps he is trying to use up as much of that foreign oil as he can, while General Electric (you know, his advisor Jeffrey Immelt’s company) is building AIRFORCE NUMERO UNO, a giant reinforced glider with a 600 foot wingspan.

He will be able to use prevailing winds to travel carbon dioxide free anywhere in the world. Plus, he is so loved worldwide, that escort flights of F-15’s (he’s canceling F-22’s, and 35’s) will be unnecessary…..and there will be rainbows, butterflies, and…unicorns! What a great global climate change leader he will become!

Oh well, I guess some of us independant business owners who still believe in the capitalist system of free market enterprise were too busy trying to entice customers with products and services at lowered rates, just to get a pulse rate back in the economy, instead of watching pure charlatry in action.

They did this in Mesa becasue Harry Mitchell (D) may be out next election. Prett much the rest around Phoenix are R-strongholds.

All though I would have loved to have been there with a sign.

It would have been a Pig in FDR dress.

It would have said “Instead of a Capatilist Pig, I am just going to Pork You!”

Why is this being reported by hardly anyone?
    http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2009/02/putin_warns_us_to_eschew_socia.ht

Russian Prime Minister Vladamir Putin has said the US should take a lesson from the pages of Russian history and not exercise “excessive intervention in economic activity and blind faith in the state’s omnipotence”.

“In the 20th century, the Soviet Union made the state’s role absolute,” Putin said during a speech at the opening ceremony of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. “In the long run, this made the Soviet economy totally uncompetitive. This lesson cost us dearly. I am sure nobody wants to see it repeated.”[Snip.]

Sounding more like Barry Goldwater than the former head of the KGB, Putin said, “Nor should we turn a blind eye to the fact that the spirit of free enterprise, including the principle of personal responsibility of businesspeople, investors, and shareholders for their decisions, is being eroded in the last few months. There is no reason to believe that we can achieve better results by shifting responsibility onto the state.”

Wow, even former communists repudiate Obama and Pelosi’s crap. Thanks Mike.I would have Putin as president rather than our current regime.

Almost correct. The sad truth is that ALL of this is people being irresponsible! Irresponsible voters. Irresponsible legislators and the local, state and federal level. Irresponsible lenders. Irresponsible borrowers.

Irresponsible is a big long word describing a big group of people.

A Stim You Louse Plan worth backing:

Every citizen gets $1000 times (their FICO score minus 700).

For people that owe money to the government this schedule
    >-$40,000 (FICO < 300) They go barefoot and get laughed at.

between -$40,000 and -$20,000 (FICO 300 to 500), they get to live in public housing and take buses.

between -$19,999 and $0 (FICO 500 to 700), they get to pay it to the taxman.
