More scenes from Mesa: “I need a beachfront condo, Mr. President!”
I love this. At the Mesa AZ protest against President Obama, KFYI listeners brought signs telling Santa Obama what they wanted from the savior-based economy. Hats off to KFYI’s Bruce Jacobs and J.D. Hayworth. Reader Al Swanson sent these priceless pics.

Dude, where’s our bailout?
Amen, brother:

That was both funny and self aware.
I agree and have no issue with exposing children to political activity. But making signs for kids to hold, ascribing to them beliefs they could not possibly have formed, and marching them in front of crowds and cameras is exploiting them for your political purposes. Is it child abuse? No. But it is a bit unseemly.

Argh! The world must have reversed poles. I agree with bluesoc.
I never cared about the stupid child exploitation issue on either side of the aisle. Everyone does it and it’s always stupid and it’s always non-persuasive.
All I want is an old Minuteman Launch Control Facility, 50 cases of MREs, night vision goggles, razor wire, and free cable.

Wow Chap, we agree! And the children’s choir was creepy indeed.
Kumbaya… kumbaya…
I want
a NEW PRESIDENT
Well, we’re certainly closer on this than we usually are.
I disagree. Nobody is saying “You see this cute little face! You want this cute little face to grow up in a socialist/fascist/whatever regime and steal all her freedoms!”
As I stated, they were protesting alongside the adults.
They weren’t being put front and center the way the S-CHIP children were.
It’s the difference between the human relief organization which only highlights hungry children on their infomercials and the one which shows hungry people. One is most definitely exploiting the children (I’m not saying it’s bad – I’m simply defining exploitation) and the other is most definitely NOT exploiting the children (they are merely lumped in with the adults).
HEY! Great idea, I can get a golf course built too, I hear they pay for those.
.
yeah but, they leak… a little spittle on the floor is a no go.
No offense, but these signs are kind of one-note. It’s like a contest to see how far you can stretch a single joke and still remain on topic. Bonus points to the first guy for the French flag, which adds dimension and flair to an otherwise stale joke.
You need something short and catchy. Most of these are waaay too long. And remember — a little risk goes a long way. Be edgy, but not over the edge, you know? The Nazi comparison thing is clearly a non-starter, but how about “Obama Lied – Capitalism Died”? Or “Change We Can’t Believe In”? I think “Mr. President, Stimulate THIS!” really captures the outrage without any overt implications of violence, although it might be a little too suggestive for a G-rated event. Or how about something involving your favorite pork recipe?
Be creative! And remember — your only limitiation is your own imagination.
Why? Because you say so?
As for these kids, sorry, be willing to bet they are homeschooled. Seen 9 year old homeschooled kids that could reason better than high school seniors.
Be willing to bet that these kids were able to come up with those signs all on their own. I would even bet that these kids could debate, and destroy, the leftist trolls that occasionally pop up on this site.
Mike Huckabee very effectively comments on the:
Watch this.
How about the way Obama is going around God’s creation to “campaign” in Air Force One… costing us a ton of money!!
I want a President who is a Natural Born Citizen.
This President has an opportunity to inspire and encourage all Americans, including blacks, to work hard, make good grades in school, and be productive members of society. Instead he is rewarding sloth!
What a waste.
Really? I’ll bet this exactly encapsules what many here believe.
I want all of the godless Socialists to quit trying to CHANGE this country and move to a country that is already Socialist.
Free Enterprise Capitalism, practiced by moral, god-fearing people, made this country the greatest country on earth.
The Socialists have chipping away at that foundation for about 100 years, and now the Socialists are trying to move us off that foundation completely.
If they succeed in moving us off that foundation, this nation will fall.
They are Domestic Enemies of the Constitution of the United States, and should be treated as such.
Love it! Great pictures!
What the hell would you know about any of it? How the hell do you know that any of these kids are being used as props? How many of these kids actively participated and how many didn’t? Just because the parent held the sign and their kid stood next to them doesn’t mean they’re a prop.
As to the kids holding the signs, how many of them are protesting ALL BY THEMSELVES? Without encouragement? As Bill O’Reilly has pointed out, even kids have rights too. Some kids are dragged to protests ON BOTH SIDES but how do you tell which ones are doing it willingly and which ones aren’t? That’s the tricky question.
Some of these kids were teenagers btw. This freaking pathetic excuse for a bill affects them too. Their future prosperity is on the line too. As least they’re involved. How many kids can you say even give a damn, Mookie?
I used to give you the benefit of the doubt but lately, you’re just on the wrong side. Whatever side you think that is.
Everyone is making a big deal about the kids in the protest. Luckily they were not aborted but the bigger question is does the USA gov’t have enough money to give houses to millions and millions of illegals coming up north this spring about May fifth? I know BO, Harry R. and Nancy P. will be pushing for open borders and this will invite and I would not be surprized if ten percent of the Mexican population comes up and wants homes, jobs benefits that their own gov’t doesn’t provide. This is what I want to know about what Congress and the President is going to do about that?
I disagree. A home is every bit a luxury which needs to be handled with serious financial responsibility. How many of the millions of people upside down in their house and close to foreclosure were seriously ready for the financial undertaking homeownership involves?
A home, like any overpriced thing such as an ivy-league (or any private college/university) education, is a luxury. Those who bought into homeownership as convenient ATM became homeowners for the wrong reasons. When you buy a home, you’re responsible for the property taxes and general upkeep of the property just like you’d be for a vehicle (in some states like VA).
Anybody can rent an apartment or house on the cheap. There are plenty out there that would have served as a home just as easily and without the financial pain their ignorance and irresponsibility is now causing the rest of us.
I know your presence on this blog is meant as an idiotic appeal to emotion but homeownership is a LUXURY. It takes hard work to be a homeowner and ready for that commitment. As we’re seeing now, those of us who rented and waited to own a home will have to bail out these reprobates.
If you can’t see that, you’re a sucker making excuses.
What is “this?”
That later generations will be forced to pay the debt or that the children were being exploited in such manner?
Don’t know if this has been mentioned yet as I haven’t read all the comments, but I think bluesoc didn’t get the nature of this protest…comes from all those drugs his mom did during the 60’s…
I think one of the biggest problems with the leftists is that they have
never read the founding documents.
Somehow or another, “pursuit of happiness” has been translated into, “I have the right to any friggin think I want!”
Chapoutier,
I think we have more or less the same position.
It’s very, very difficult to point to a specific kid, especially if they appear to be eight or so or older, and say “That kid has not formed political opinions yet and is simply an appendage of the parent.” Some kids are just ahead of the game. Others look substantially younger than they are. The combo could have a very young-looking child actually be a legitimate demonstrator.
Also, I imagine if your kid gets all into the spirit of things and begs for a sign, it’s hard to say no, even if you’re pretty sure the kid doesn’t really understand. (A good reason to bring a toy, possibly.)
On the other hand, I feel certain some parents are shoving signs into their children’s hands, whether out of a sense of a good stage prop or genuinely looking at the child and seeing an adult that just happens to have the parent’s opinions down to a nuance, and “unseemly” is a good word for that.
It is in my opinion even worse when a teacher does it, maybe partly because the teacher is a government employee.
Ask
NOTwhat your country can do for you….JUST GIMME!!
(Obama legacy)
Thank you for making my point. How do we know all of those kids who were brought out for S-CHIP didn’t want to be there? How do we know how many actively participated and told their parents they wanted to be part of it? We don’t. But the vast majority of people here called them props. Big lack of consistency.
Actually, if you think I was making your point AGAIN you would be wrong. I was making a larger statement extrapolating on what you and other posters have said.
You’re doing an awful lot of assuming. I think that this is a matter of transparency not consistency. Exploiting kids to show others that we must feel guilty because Mummy and Daddy don’t make enough to get them healthcare is a bit over the top. Especially if those same parents (as well as many other negligent adults) either treat healthcare like it’s some kind of “right” (an outright emotional appeal) or too damn cheap to spend the money to put their kid(s) on their health insurance.
Have you ever taught? Are you qualified to identify which and what child may be mature enough to develop political opinions? I’ve seen some very mature 13 year olds who told me what they thought on a certain issue based on reasoned argument whereas some 16 year olds wouldn’t be able to say anything about their political beliefs unless it wasn’t tied to qualities such as “popularity” and he/she (the politician) makes “me” feel good.
So, I guess your larger point is that conservatives are hypocrites, right? That we (and our kids) must keep quiet when our rights are being taken away from us? Exactly what rights are being taken away from these S-CHIP propagandists? Oh my, the outrage, we HAVE to pay for our own healthcare and that of our children.
Yeah, I see your point. Using kids to pimp S-CHIP to pull the heartstrings of the taxpayer and the averice of the scumbag politicians vs. hard-working citizens who worry that everything they’ve worked for will be taken away from them to be given to deadbeats suckin’ on the Big Nanny Welfare Teat.
When will you take a stand, Mookie? I mean is S-CHIP a good idea? Was Stimapalooza a good idea? Kiddie shields aren’t the real issue, are they, Mookie?
Take a stand on what? Both S-CHIP and Stimulpalooza sucked. I’ve never said anything to the contrary.
Let me ask you a question: when Michelle would post pictures of kids at Obama rallies, all dolled up in Obama gear, holding up signs, what did you think?
Where’s the left when schools empty to promote socialist demonstrations? I heard no outrage over some leftist groups using kids as “shields” in protest marches. It’s the old philosophy: I’ll do what I want; anything against me, though, is wrong.
Ignore emjem. I do teach and I will tell you that seeing a “big” picture in my school lobby of him makes me angry. There has NEVER been a picture of any other prez in our lobby for all the years I have taught there. I am sick of this man’s media, star-status hype.

Yep, it all boils down to one thing…he can’t fail, due to the color of his skin.
That’s it, in a nutshell.
I am just waiting for the day the population of this country wakes up to realize they did not elect a president … they elected a David Copperfield Illusion
Dear President Obama,
I decided to re-finance my house, (with an extra $100k cash out), on all that ‘equity’, (wink wink), I gained on it since I bought it 2 years ago, (with no money down thanks to our friends Christopher, Barney and Franklin and a few people at ACORN), that I had originally mortgaged with one of those ‘predatory’ sub-prime lenders, (one of those that John Edwards worked at I think? – Fortress Investments?).
So I decided to invest the cash in a new car and figured why not drive in style and get a loan for something a little better? So that’s what I did but now I’m upside down on both the house and the car! It’s terrible Mr. President, my life is miserable.
On top of this immobilizing guilt that I suffer every day for not being able to pay anyone, now I’m getting threatening letters, (forwarded to me by my cousin in another state where they think I live), that they’re going to repossess my new Enzo!
And I also think the only reason they are targeting me is because I’m a person of color!
Please President Obama, please help me keep my house and car; without them I’ll have NOTHING at all! (I’ll vote for you again in 2012 okay?)
Yours truly,
**********
Nope, they elected the first black president…just for the history books.
Now, what else will the history books reveal about this self-serving master of deceit?
BAYRACKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!
WERE’S MY CHECK?????????!!!!!!!!!
But, but, but… Tiananmen Square had its giant picture of Mao, and Red Square had its giant picture of Lenin.
It’s just socialist tradition, go with it.
I think I’m gonna make me some yard signs. Hell, I may even make some to share in my town.
seems to me that the reason we have foreclosures is too many sellers, not enough buyers. the reason we have unemployment is too many employees, not enough employers. the reason we have inflation is too many dollars chasing too few goods. the reason our auto industry is on the edge of bankruptcy is too many cars/trucks and not enough buyers. this is why socialism always fails, they keep blaming the producers and taking from them until there is no one left to take from anymore.
I want absolutely NOTHING from this Chicago-style thug President and his cohorts of corruption Pelosi, Frank, et all. As several posters have said already, I want this overwhelming, blow-hard government to leave me the hell alone.
