I can see the commercial now…in time for the major holidays, you can buy the obama blow up toy of your choice and send it to a journalist in need. It comes with a care package including an issue of NYTimes, Starbucks coffee, a do-it-yourself home abortion kit and a personalized race card! Dryer safe, it produces its’ own hot air for inflation and is equipped with a language center, randomly saying things like “hope and change.” (Sarcasm aside, I give it two months before there is something like that on the market, and two weeks after that ms. parker will start a collection!)

I never liked Parker, not one little bit, but this is beyond weird. If I were her husband I would be getting to a lawyer fast and packing my bags. Any day now she’s going to announce to the media he forced her to wear high-heels so she had to get out the shotgun . . .

For someone who won an H.L. Mencken award in journalism (and who says affirmative action doesn’t work?), well, it is time to give it back. Before her writing was just dumb and infuriating — in equal parts. Now it is hide-your-eyes awful. This reminds me of the time she said Andrea Yates was having a “bad marriage day.” Oh the clever word play! Or the time she sucked up to Janet Reno. Or groveled before her black readers because she mistakenly wrote that the Duke Three were “lynched.” You see, that word is owned completely by the black community because no white person has ever been lynched.

And so it goes. She no longer appears at National Review but I am unsure about the reasons. In any event, it is time for her to deal with her personal issues in private. Bye Kathleen. It hasn’t been fun.
