Going ape over the New York Post
Al Sharpton and his race racketeers went ape over New York Post staffer Sean Delonas’s anti-stimulus editorial cartoon involving that famous crazed chimp. They picketed the News Corp. building, organized boycotts, targeted advertisers, floated a challenge to Rupert Murdoch’s FCC license — and now the New York Post has apologized.
Oops. Can I say “went ape” anymore? How about “going bananas?” Shall I refrain from asking the race demagogues to quit “monkeying around?” Do I erase “It’s a jungle out there” and “It’s a zoo” from my lexicon? How about “beastly?”
Just a few yelps from Sharpton and the professional protesters who see RAAAAACISM in every inkblot prompted the spunky tab (for whom I write and proudly so) to apologize to “those who were offended by the image.” The Post then goes on to observe in its statement on Sharpton’s cartoon jihad:
…there are some in the media and in public life who have had differences with The Post in the past – and they see the incident as an opportunity for payback.
To them, no apology is due.
The only people “offended by the image” of the crazed cartoon chimp — who clearly symbolized the crazed lawmakers on the Hill who passed the stimulus in a frenzy — are the opportunists.
No apology is due to anyone except cartoonist Delonas, whose character has been smeared by the manufacturers of grievances demanding his head.
Too many in the MSM continue to treat Sharpton as an entertaining clown, instead of the rabid hound he has always been. (”Hound.” Is that acceptable?)
This is the moral of the story: Submission to racial intimidation yields only more racial intimidation. You don’t get the monkey off your back by feeding it.
Yeah, I said “get the monkey off your back.”
Sue me.

Rattling their cages:
The drawing by longtime Post cartoonist Sean Delonas, published Wednesday, shows a dead chimp and two police officers, one with a smoking gun. The caption reads, “They’ll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill.”
The Post was picketed and deluged with angry calls, with some of Thursday’s marchers carrying signs that said “Jail Billionaire N.Y. Post Owner Rupert Murdoch.”
“We make them and we break them with our money, and we should shut it down,” said protester Angela Brown, who carried a glossy photo of Obama.

Why can’t the MSM just ignore Sharpton. Maybe he will just go away.
LOL Michelle… I don’t think you missed any.
Unless more than monkeys and apes are now off limits. You know, it didn’t occur to me for a moment the ape represented anything but the crazed Congress. Takes a racist to see racism in everything.
Time to Shock the Monkey ” Hat Tip to Peter Gabriel. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oaSZxd9jOY
Indeed…
When I first saw the cartoon, I laughed. The message was that the stimulus might as well have been written by chimps instead of our illustrious Congress. That was the end of it.
AND THEN imbeciles started claiming it was…. racist? Really? I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. For someone to think this was racist, they by definition must think of black people when they see an image of a monkey. THAT is racist. Such a thought never crossed my mind.
It’s also ignorant on a whole different level: the cartoon refers to writing a bill. Obama never wrote the bill — that’s what Congress does, as any 6th-grader can tell you.
So all naysayers are racist, ignorant, fools.
They are dangerously dumb. Now, all foreign papers are picking up on it, making us out to look like a racist nation. Al Sharpton is a pathetic individual, and any politician who hugs him in the future should be called a racist and be forced to comment on the cartoon. That would make a great spectacle.
MM ~ Tell Rev. Al
Welcome to the Jungle!
Peter Gabriel is rascist too…Back then, who new the Messiah would be here ?
Of course, Mr. Sharpton brings a dignified approach to fostering better racial dialog between all Americans that Mr. Holder must palpably feel is sorely lacking among the rest of us lowly cowards.
Let’s file this w/ the same idiot (in Dallas) who said black holes are racist.
While technically, I can see their argument THIS time (it was a poorly chosen analogy, albeit spot-on with the inetent), and while I disagree with their incessant victimhood exemplified by petty things such as this… I want to know…WHERE WERE THESE SELECTIVE RACISTS WHEN CONDOLEEZA RICE WAS BEING MERCILESSLY SKEWERED IN BLATANT RACIAL TONES BY THE VERY SAME PEOPLE?!
I am so “freaking” sick of these damn double standards. The only people who think it terms of RACE are those who seek to exploit it for personal gain…(that means YOU too Eric Holder!!!)
I guess we can’t refer to “the Dark Ages” anymore either. It denigrates a certain ethnic group and sends the offender into the black hole of liberals’ scorn. D’oh!

Dear Hate-filled Jewish White Woman,
I hope your hate filled column finds it’s way into a black hole…
Does Sharpton not understand that BILLS originate IN CONGRESS???
President DOES NOT WRITE THEM.
CONGRESS writes them.
The cartoon compared THE LEGISLATIVE BRANCH to a deranged primate, not the EXECUTIVE BRANCH.
(See Dub: Bangs head on table.)
I mean, it’s almost like Al Sharpton isn’t very smart or something.
Al needs to stop monkeying with people’s lives.
AGain..who are the only people who get upset at CARTOONS? Liberals and muslims. What a combo!
Well said. Very well said.
’nuff said.
“A nation of cowards” just like BO wants us.
Its about time we called a spade, a spade. Al Sharpton is a racist.
Exactly Michelle, just as submission to terrorism yields only more terrorism. We must stop allowing so called adults to get their way through temper tantrums. It is far past the time for everyone to grow up.
He who makes it racist, is racist.
When Al “Shakedown” Sharpton shows up you know that the other guy is right.
I for one, am not going to apologize for NOT seeing a black person when I see a monkey. Anyone who does IS racist. All this type of “outrage” over nothing only serves to increase racial tension and animosity. I could just see the eyes rolling. It’s like the boy who cried wolf. You begin losing credibility even where such outrage would otherwise be warranted. Yes, racism still exists, but it just doesn’t exist w/ respect to that cartoon.
For goodness sake, America elected Obama as PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. It’s the most powerful position in the world. Clearly Al Sharpton and his ilk are just grasping to find purpose.
Google “George Bush monkey” and see what comes up. The implication is clear, as in monkey=inept. Same w/ this cartoon.
Before I learned Colon Bowell was a grade A RINO a-hole, if he had run for POTUS in 2000, I would have supported him everyway possible.
Condi Rice, 2001-2005, not sure about POTUS, but I would have done almost anything to support her as VP. Then the State Department POD people got her.
I was in the Navy. Black, White, Hispanic, Asian and Jewish shipmates, they were shipmates, not a race.
My problem with the Obammunist has not a thing to do with skin color. It has to do with Marxism and association with communist revolutionaries.
BTW, Nancy Pelosi wrote Porkulus, if anyone is a chimp, it is her…
Oh oh…
I’m picturing Michelle writing this in a wrinkled slip w/one strap hanging off her shoulder, half empty bottle of Jack Daniels and an ashy cigarette hanging from her lips.
Yup…Bad.Ass.
It’s time to really spank the monkey, and rattle the dem’s cage…oh I’m sorry… which group(s) did I offend tonight?
According to Laurence Fishburne on The View today [skip to 3:40] race relations will not be healed until we have a national day of mourning.
Good to see you back on the boards, See-Dubya, to borrow a theater term.
Sharpton (despite my usually being careful with formal titles, he doesn’t deserve Rev) is nothing but a race baiting, self-aggrandizing charlatan who got tired of not being in the spotlight enough lately.
He can hate me because I’m white, but don’t hate me because I’m beautiful!
Does the Reverend Al have a job?
The bill’s sponsor was David Obey of WI. Also white, also chimplike.
Like hell you do. They haven’t seen a penny from any of you racemongers and never will.
Oy. I bet left veins are popping, heads are exploding and apoplexy abounds on left blogs all over the net over that one.
HA!
left=lefty
All the monkeys deserve an apology. Surely they’re offended at the rampant speciesism going on.
Where was Al Sharpton during all the political cartoons of Condi Rice in blackface? Isn’t that considered RAAAAAAACIST?
You have GOT to be kidding! What next? Mickey Mouse is racist? To call Sharpton insane is an insult to mentally ill people. The words imbecile, moronic, idiot and deranged just don’t do justice to the new lows Sharpton achieves nearly every day.
Maybe this will help all of us cowards improve our lives and meet government targets for “ethnic friends.”
Why is someone not asking Sharpton to appologize for what he did to the Duke players? I am so sick of this double standard crap. Condi Rice was treated far worse than anything that this cartoon does and where was the race monger Sharpton then ?
Hi!
I’m looking to be easily offended over some imagined offense. You see, I love to fly off the handle and act in the most absurd ways possible and protesting is really the hip, in thing to do it seems. So, if some one could please make an innocuous comment about how their jeep Cherokee needs a lot of work–then I could possibly construe it as an insult to me and my Cherokee bretheren of which I am 1/16th by blood. I feel a real need to get into the whole “Culture of the Offended” and I think that my tribal heritage is the best shot that I have. Whadda ya say guys?
***
Racists come in all skin colors and ethnic backgrounds. The “reverends” Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson Sr. are two of the Black racists.
***
They aren’t stupid–they are crooked shakedown artists who have made themselves rich at all people’s expenses.
***
They are not fit to tie Doctor Martin Luther King’s shoes or to carry his Bible.

“Over the weekend, Al Sharpton hosted Saturday Night Live on NBC for an hour-and-a-half — the longest job he has ever had.” —Craig Kilborn
———————-
Al Sharpton said the Democratic Party has to stop treating blacks as their mistresses. Sharpton then explained a mistress is where they take you out to have fun, but they don’t take you home. Was that really necessary to explain what a mistress is to Democrats?” —Jay Leno

I agree that an apology is needed to all monkeys in the U.S.. Personally, they are, I’m sure, insulted to be compared to the U.S. congress. Slowly, but surely, we’re becoming like England, where to say any opinion can get you jail, these days.
My son’s middle school civics teacher said the cartoonist should be jailed, this without showing the cartoon or asking the kids what they thought. What played in my head was, “Come Mr. Taliban, tally me bananas…”
And therein lays the problem-constantly giving into these race baiters, shakedown artists-Al Sharpton’s REAL JOB-and assorted thugs, goons and the terminally stupid camp followers.
Oh yes Al Sharpton does have a real job as does Jesse Jackson, Calypso Louis
Farrakhan, JerryBoy Wright of Trinity Chicago. It is called extortion and they make millions shaking down businesses for a little Peace. And as long as these businesses keep paying the extortion these and other mafia type thugs will keep coming back.
They get companies to donate to the thugs various “Social Programs” and then more to pay the thugs as Sensitivity/Minority advisers. Jackson’s family get millions from their strong armed Anheuser-Busch distributorship and millions more from Coca Cola. Al Capone would be proud.
So while the New York Post apologizes the thugs ring up another win and the beat goes on. Have a Banana Mr. Sharpton, you earned it beating that dead monkey-ape, whatever.
I heard on the news this morning that the NY Post has run an editorial apologizing if people were offended by the cartoon. Tell me, who wrote the stimulus bill; Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and the clown factory that is the Democrat Congress. So how does “writing the stimulus bill” equate to The Messiah?
Shame on the NY Post for backing down. I’ll bet money that no one at the Post thought that it referred to Obama yest now they have claimed responsibility. Once again they have given in to the race baiters and hate mongers.
Maybe Holder was right — just for the wrong reasons.
A python would have been better than a monkey…squeezing the taxpayer to death.
Actually we need to have sympathy for Sharpton. The reason he was so upset is that when he looks in the mirror each morning, he sees exactly that ape. Same grooming skills, same intelligence – everything right down to the last detail.
Of course he was offended.
I will not submit. Sharpton is a fool, has blood on his hands and corrupts the values of the religion he professes. When he appears on Fox News, they lose me to another channel. In fact, he is why I rarely watch The Factor and Hannity. Sharpton is an ignorant racist and I have no use for him.
When I saw the protests yesterday on TV my first reaction was “don’t all of these people have jobs they are suppose to be at?” STUPID ME – of course they don’t have jobs – they have you and me working for them. BTW – I think the same thing when I walk into WalMart at 2 in the afternoon on Tuesday and it is packed. “Don’t these people have jobs?”

I suppose you are referring to his hit single “Shock The Monkey” (freaky video here) from the Security LP. Before then, I thought Gabriel was a racist for another reason: His third self-titled solo LP (the one with his face melting on the album jacket) contained the minor hit “Games Without Frontiers” which contain these lyrics:
This was before I knew that Gabriel was a fierce opponent of South African apartheid before it became trendy, that the “Games” was intended as a fanciful anti-war song, and that the same LP contained the haunting “Biko,” about Steven Biko, the anti-apartheid activist who died after being beaten and tortured in police custody. Taken as a whole and not bit by bit, it’s clear to me that the reference to “coons in the jungle” was an indictment of others’ attitudes toward Africans, and not his agreement with them.
(The derivitive Phil Collins recorded his own version of “Biko.” He called his “In The Air Tonight.”)
After further study we have found that these terms may also be offensive to some groups and can no longer be used.
Pork in any connotation- offends Texans and other southerners due to the barbeque connection.
Calling someone Chicken Little – offends southerners and many franchise owners.
Telling someone to duck – Offends Chinese especially from Beijing.
Referring to someone as dogged in determination or as dogging someone – Offends members of the AKC.
Calling someone an ostrich or saying their head is buried in the sand – Offends Africans and people of African descent.
Lemmings – Offends Canadians, Russians, and Alaskan natives.
This list will be updated as soon as our medication wears off. Thank you for your attention.

Al Sharpton, President
I thought that electing a black man proved we’re NOT racist.
But one of the most racist racebaiters in the country is accusing someone of being racist so he can protect his “job”, which is “RACEBAITING!”
The “race relations” industry in this country is BIG business. The race relations industry is no more interested in “healing” racism in this country than the moon is made of cheese.
The only monkey business going on is from the likes of Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, etc. This is why electing a black president will not stop all this race relations stuff.
Hey, as long as Darwinian evolution is believed and taught as truth in EVERY public schoolhouse in the country, stuff like this will continue to go on.
http://www.bushorchimp.com/
I had no idea that Bush was black?
Apparently Sharpton thinks blacks are monkeys, otherwise why is he yelling?
Never heard of the cartoonist nor did I see the cartoon until it was pointed out to me by Reverend Al. Didn’t know it was racist until Reverend Al told me it was. I’m ready to pay reparations now.
There’s one allusion in the cartoon that I think most people have missed. Perhaps its an age thing (I’m old.) Has no one heard of the infinite monkey theorem?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infinite_monkey_theorem
The obviously intriguing idea lends itself far better to the legislation in question than the works of Shakespeare. In fact, it begins to look more and more plausible all the time…
Come to think of it, isn’t this mortgage plan kind of a backdoor reparations plan. The “White” House is going to decide who qualifies. Ironic isn’t it!
I thought it was funny because a chimp would’ve written a better stimulus bill than we got! Then after the laughter, thought that it was a bit insensitive to the people who cared about the chimp and are grieving. Never did it enter my mind that it was racist particularly with all the comparisons that were made between Bush and monkeys.
This all brings me back to my original thesis that the evils of slavery will bring down this once great nation.
It was a deeply offensive cartoon; no self-respecting chimp would have anything to do with Porkulus. Even the drug-addled chimp attacked briefly and only one person. Porkulus attacks generations and damages an entire country. Chimps simply can’t be the vicious.
Contort thought, prey on the sympathetic, demonize the indivdualist and down we go.
I agree that the cartoon was insulting. Lunatic apes everywhere should be offended by being compared to Democrats.
Bingo!
Actually, I am offended.
What if the caption read, ‘They’ll have to find someone else to write Michelle Malkin’s column.’
The implication would then be that MM would be shot and killed. That is offensive to me.
To suggest killing the person(s) who write MM’s column is wrong.
To suggest killing the person(s) who wrote the stimulus bill is wrong.

Sharpton, shut your pie hole until you account for Yankel Rosenbaum’s death back in 1991, and the other 11 deaths from riots you instigated. Your have no moral code and are a traitor. Stand in front of me and try to rant…. you maggot.

Oh oh…
Hey what do you have against monkeys?
The man Al is irrelevant. He brings nothing to the table. We now have a black man for president…so whites are off the hook.
Michelle,
You must be niggardly with your everyday common terms around these people.
Is “people” also bad?
I think these people have too much time on their hands. I mean really – I would never have thought anything of it. It’s a cartoon. And I would not have seen anything racist about it. Still don’t.
2(Biden) words for Sharpton and any other offended racists out there…Go to Hell..
Sharpton is nothing but a pathetic piece of trash desperately trying to cling to relevancy.
Oh well, maybe O’Reilly can have him on again so they can yuck it up when his hand gets tired from Geraldo.
I dunno, Michelle, your being so mean about this seems rather niggardly to me. Oh drat!!! I used a bad word!!!
No, the implication would have been that MM had had a chimp writing her column.
Would it have been racist had the paper apologized to those readers too ignorant to understand that Congress writes legislation?
Were I the editor, that is exactly what I would have done. “If you want pandering, if you imagine insult where none was given, please read our competition. This paper is for adults.”
That is spot-on! Before Obama and his race-baiting Presidential campaign, this country was fairly unified regarding race. We had started really putting the past behind us (except for a few who just can’t let it go!), and heal as a nation. We are now back to square one. Why? Because Obama wants this to happen and is fomenting it with his class warfare policies. I said this before and I’ll say it again…Obama is an angry black liberationist who will use his presidency to “stick it to the man”. He is thoroughly enjoying all of this!
Right now I’m watching F-Troop and laughing myself silly over the stereotypical antics of the Hekawi Indians. Later on I plan on watching the movie “Major League” and I’m going to be doing a great big tomahawk chop every time “Wild Thing” Vaughan takes the mound for the Cleveland Indians. Then tonight I’m going to get drunk on firewater and start planning ahead for my Thanksgiving celebration.
That help you out any?
We brought this on ourselves, you know. We brought the blacks here from Africa, and now many of them want to destroy the country they live in. One bit of advice for them…Don’t poop in your own bed. You still have to lay in it. Having said that, I know there are some posters on here who are African-American, and I am NOT referring to you! I’m talking about the race-baiters and rabble-rousers only.
the right reverand al knows full well what he is doing. he is in trouble in st louis for shaking down anheuser busch, which reverand jesse owned after his shakedown which landed 2 of his sons distributorships.
Ugly American, add ‘whilst ironing her husband’s shirt’ and you had me earlier this morning…
That should be the new name for the “stimulus” bill. The Reparations Bill. Use it from now on.
