“This is our house now:” ACORN mob begins breaking into homes
On Wednesday, I said prepare for lawlessness as ACORN’s civil disobedience mob steps up pressure for President Obama’s mortgage entitlement expansion.
Well, are you ready, Baltimore? (Hat tip – Jeff Quinton) ACORN’s troops are breaking the padlocks and breaking into homes. And this is just the start. Caution: OBAMACORN at work.
A community organization breaks into a foreclosed home in what they are calling an act of civil disobedience.
The group wants to train homeowners facing eviction on peaceful ways they can remain in their homes.
Derek Valcourt reports their actions are not without controversy.
Near Patterson Park, the padlock on the door and the sign in the window tells part of Donna Hanks foreclosure story.
“The mortgage went up $300 in one month,” said Hanks, former homeowner.
She says the bank refused to modify her loan and foreclosed, kicking her out of the house in September.
The community group ACORN calls Hanks a victim of predatory lending.
“This is our house now,” said Louis Beverly, ACORN.
And on Thursday afternoon, they literally broke the foreclosure padlock right off the front door and then broke into the house, letting Hanks back in for the first time in months.
Taxpayer-subsidized anarchy is on the way.

And part of that ‘Stabilization’ is the topic of this thread, namely civil disobedience. It takes a lot of money to train people how to break padlocks, you know.

Ohhhhh…. I see. There is funding for neighborhood stabilization programs, which ACORN, as well as any other state or local government and any of the other hundreds of nonprofit organizations, can submit bids in a competitive process to get a fraction of that money to administer their programs.
Whew. For a minute there I thought there was actual federal funding for this group in the stimulus bill. Thanks for clearing that up.
Yes, kind of like if a request for bid were issued by the feds that only an evil corporation like Haliburton could handle.
Well, I guess there aren’t any other community organizers available to stabalize the community. We’ll have to give it to ACORN. Oh, darn.
You might have a point if this were some new program and ACORN had already gotten all the cash, because they were the only game in town. However, NSPs were started last year, and HUD gave out money to over 300 grantees, the vast majority of which were state or local agencies.
It remains to be seen how much ACORN will get. My guess would be…plenty! Let’s pay attention to the distribution of those funds and see what shakes out.

My father said such things happened during the Dust Bowl and Depression. Neighboring farmers intimidated out of town bidders at bank sales and refused to let the bidding go to no more than a few dollars. Then, they gave the farm to the foreclosed owner. These folks weren’t deadbeats. They were unfortunate victims of an economic crash, and they were angry enough to lynch foreclosure judges. This may be a good time to own weapons.

I might be cajoled into someday perusing the local library, but I do believe the local papers would have happily printed a birth announcement based on a conversation overheard at breakfast. Especially in that era.

My guess is, Kenya in 1961 was in no means sophisticated enough to properly register births, golden boy then arrives back in the states (mom ran away from the muslim lord and back to mom & dad), then did everything possible to establish citizenship for the tot. No conspiracy there…not yet anyway.
When it is discovered that these ACORN lawbreakers will not be arrested for breaking and entering we will then have a precedent to go break into any ACORN H.Q. at any time. If accosted by law officials for such ‘civil disobedience’ just point out that as a tax payer you paid for it, and you damn well will enjoy the bennefits afforded by it.
Demonstrating outside of city hall is a waste of time. Demonstrations outside of ACORN offices would be quite poignant as that would get to the root of the problem we face with toxic assetts..

This is an excellent point. I am an avid genealogist. And I have discovered over the years that a lot of the fische out there has totally incorrect information. 45 years ago, the record-keeping was not to be trusted. If Obama’s mother wanted to put an announcement in the Hawaii papers, she could definitely have in sent the announcement and they would have published it. And of course, the microfische would have reflected it also. Mystery solved. Didn’t someone check all the hospitals on the island where he was supposed to have been born? And there was no record at any of them? I believe RedPill mentioned that.
RedPill…what does the newspaper article say about the hospital he was born in? Did it say anything specific?

Try starting on pg 261 of the bill. Bills rarely itemize who the money is exactly appropriated too. This is hidden under Community Development Act in the bill which ACORN falls under these organizations money is allocated!

I think Pbo (pbuh) might be in for a rude awakening yet again but threatening Alan Keyes. I am not a big Keyes fan, but the thinly veiled threat that Pbo (or his homies) issued to Keyes does little to put the issue to rest.
As has been said, if there is nothing to hide, why fight showing it so vigorously? If it is true that he was born in Hawai’i, which hospital was it? The worst that he could show is that he is the product of some illegitimate liason and in fact is the bastard offspring of that dalliance, but he would prove his US birth.
The evidence has been covered quite well, but still the question stands because he fights against a basic premise he promised: TRANSPARENCY.
The bad part for all of us is that IF he is not a legitimate office holder, everything he has done, everything he has signed off on, everything he does is an illegal act and will be immediately voided upon discovery. The entire world will be thrown into turmoil. But as Rahm says in chaos there is opportunity.
