Pay your own damn bills first, Mr. President

By Michelle Malkin  •  February 23, 2009 01:47 PM

President Obama just finished up his opening remarks at a “fiscal responsibility” summit to address skyrocketing budget deficits.

How about paying your own damn bills first, Mr. President?

There’s yet another new report of Obama campaign/DNC unpaid bills — this one from Springfield, Illinois. Obama owes the city at least $65,000 for overtime and other costs.

That’s in addition to the nearly $2 million Obama still owes the city of Chicago.

And the $24,000 Obama owes the city of Philadelphia.

Deadbeatonomics for He, but not for thee.

That summarizes liberalism. They think that because something needs done, government needs to do it with your money.

Conservatives think they need to do things themselves with their own money, and hope government left them enough to do it.

WASHINGTON — President Obama has vowed to cut the country’s budget deficit in half by the end of his first term.

Obama laid out the guiding principle of his budget policy at a White House conference. He said he believes the time has come for “a frank conversation” about the problem and said the deficit, projected to total $1.3 trillion this year, must be brought under control.

Obama declared the country “cannot and will not sustain deficits like this without end.”

He also said that he wants to reinstate a pay-as-you-go policy on federal spending programs, get rid of programs that do not work and end tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas.

does anyone else see the psychology at work here? He creates the problem and then portrays himself as the savior!

    2. Shift the blame to your political enemies.

So true. Gov. Pawlenty made the same statement, something like, “If you believe (BHO’s statement about cutting the deficit by spending more), then I’ve got some prime hunting land in Minnesota to sell you!”

Actually, it is Medical that is going to change dramatically. (because of the plan Obie’s people are pushing…) Tricare co-pay for your dependents will increase to 25% (that’s at an MTF, more off-base) + a yearly cap with a lifetime cap of (the number being thrown around is) $270k total services. (BTW, that’s with Tricare PRIME folks!) and Active Duty will (for the 1st time) will pay a 10% co-pay even at an MTF! Of course, Active Duty don’t have the option for off-base care, except for referrals.

And, it gets better! Retiree’s will pay 25% with spouses paying 35% — assuming the spouse is still under the lifetime cap, of course…

The price increases will be immediate (they’ve asked the Pentagon to cut health care costs by an initial 27% with additional percentage each year…) and the base formularies will be directed to cut stock on hand by 41%, and in addition to decrease the diversity of stock by some (yet to be specified) amount. Step Mom has told me that they will be starting a move to out source all medical, Active Duty and dependent’s

Also, anyone remember when (approx 1996-78) they collapse the radius for Retiree’s care? In order to continue to receive the promised medical benefits the Retiree had to live within (I believe) 15mi radius. I remember the uproar that change caused. This promises to be even greater fun!

Anyway, lots of great changes coming… /sarc

Buckle-up! Remember keep your shot handy and your powder dry!

    3 brothers, 1Bro-in-law, 2 sisters, 2Sis-in-law, 7children(aggragate count) serving out/retiring/etc. and leaving.

StepMom, a (top-notch) surgeon, will retire w/her 20 in six months. She’d planned to stay but she says that many of the changes (in the Medical Corps) during the last half of GWB were planned to fail, w/an eye to terminating *all* dependent & retiree care inorder to outsource it. Now, the plans are to collapse all the military services into 1 military, slash manning (to “cure” redundancy…) and (apparently) to create a separate Medical Corps distinct from the military.

This group would be paramilitary and provide all health care, as in universal health care.

On a happier note, my orders came through: my Date of Separation is in 2weeks, at which time I will have officially resigned my Commission and I have 3days to bring my replacement uptospeed[sic], 2days debriefing(here), and I fly back to CONUS 6days from today. Outprocess the remainder, and become a “retired person”, with nothing but the wealth our family has created and stored away.

At times such as these, I am so greatful my Church teaches self-sufficientcy, food & money storage, and helping others. Because I listened, we have a good-sized store of hard currency, 5yrs “needful things” storage {everything (cloth, cleaning supplies, food, hard medical supplies, etc}; but not fuel, excl propane which we have in abundance). This has allowed me to follow “that still, small voice” of my conscience[sp?] and to part company w/these CONgressional & Administration blivets.
