Is it worth it to buy a handgun, and lose whatever anonymity I might have? Or am I being too paranoid?

Sorry it took so long…been gone all day.

Short answer, yes…it is worth it and you cant put a rifle places that a handgun can go. Such as, I never go camping/fishing without having my pistol strapped on my belt.

However, here in California, it is easier to buy a car, with less paperwork, or to adopt a child than it is to purchase a pistol. Heck, you now have to take a test and pay for a permit to buy one that you must present at time of purchase. I was shocked when I went to buy mine last year and was met with that rule. Fortunately the State provides a study guide for you…for a couple of bucks. But it is “about safety” and not about squeezing every drop of blood from the populace, right?

I am sure there are ways to get one without going through all that…devious, illegal ways, though I don’t think THAT is worth the trouble. After all, the criminals, murderers and gang bangers aren’t going to “Ben;a Bait and Guns” to buy their weapons. That is why all these laws are just stupid. The people they are supposed to prevent fro obtaining them don’t go through those channels in the first place, but just try explaining that to morons and other knuckle-draggers like LGM and the other rock-dwellers on here.

Soap, I get what you were referring to. Your analogy makes no sense. How is the head of a department getting upset over unauthorized actions the same as walking by a mugger?

I don’t care what you think about immigration policy, Obama or Janet. That is just silly.
