NYT: Punked

The credentialed professionals at the Fishwrap of Record fall for a blindingly obvious hoax.
All the dupes fit to print.

But – they’re like “professionals,” don’tcha know? They don’t make mistakes – only conservative bloggers do that!
The Onion has more credibility regarding current news than the NYT. Pathetic!
But…they have layers upon layers of editorial scrutiny!
The Times needs to be reduced to 50 cents and relocated with the rest of the $#^! at the checkout counter.
I feel sorry for a “journalism” major. They apparently don’t learn much. Journalism used to be something akin to “getting the facts and reporting them”. Now journalism apparently is the “art of using words to craft an opinion”.
Somewhere along the line, we went from telling the audience the details, and the audience figuring out what to think about it, to the present mode of not even bothering to tell us the details, only telling us what to think.
Just watch any major speech. Almost every program will spend more time playing the talking heads telling us what to think compared to re-playing the actual speech.
What’s a New York Times?
You’re thinking of the old days, when they did actual, you know, reporting.
Mon Dieu!
NYT gets it wrong. It isn’t the first time, and it won’t be the last.
Anyone remember Judith Miller?
I wonder if there is any news organization that has never issued a retraction?
Absolutely PRICELESS!!! WOODWARD and BERNSTEIN must be FALLING off their PENNY LOAFERS over this!!!!
The NYT is quickly on its way out because their liberal, treasonous editorials that they feel passes for journalistic, investigative news stories are not wanted by the paying public. They have no credibility.

By that definition, there is no better journalist than Michelle Malkin.
She seriously deserves a Pulitzer Prize.
It’s that sludge that gets caught in the p-trap of your wastewater line and causes your toilet to back up and overflow, leading to a phone call to roto-rooter.
Are there any colleges teaching the old style journalism?
When you don’t have a working familiarity with truth, it becomes impossible to separate it from fiction.
Or put another way, if you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything.

Nice. They are certainly not the paper that I used to read way back when I was in college.

Hey! Easy on penny loafers. One of the best styles of shoe ever made–comfortable and practical and suitable almost anytime/anywhere.
The NYT is dying and they have not come to grips.
[Creasy has rectally inserted a five minute time bomb into Fuentes]
Fuentes: A last wish, please, please. Please.
Creasy: Last wish? I wish you had more time.
Too bad nobody is going to have enough change to put the pennies in them.
Try Pesos.
Well it is far more important to expose soldiers on secrect missions than to fact check.
And it is far more important to puff TheOne also.
…but who will be there to spread the Word of the One? Wanna bet that the NYT and WaPo get bailouts. Wait, I’ll even give odds…
Made my morning!
When our two Huskies were puppies, we would put the NYT down on the floor so they could read it….They would get a funny look on their faces, leave a pile, then walk away. As they were leaving, I swear, I would see smiles on their faces. I think they liked it!
Distinguish between the airhead filler articles about girlfriends of bankers and the actual news. The NYTimes gets that right much better than its competitors. For example, last week the Washington Post ran an Op/Ed by George Will stating that a large study had found no retreat of sea ice. That group then put out a statement saying their study had found huge retreats of sea ice. No retraction or correction yet from the Post. Isn’t global warming more important than bankers’ girlfriends?
Ditto on that and almost as cool as saddle oxfords – my personal favorite.
Since man made global warming is at most an opinion, I’d say it’s not very important.
On the other hand, since “global warming” is being used to gain power/control/wealth, it is important – not to “solve” but rather to defuse.
Are you not curious enough about global warming to do some independent research on your own rather than believe every liberal point of view on the topic?
Point being…you don’t value any other point of view that does not fit your own.

That’s because they are only solar- and/or wind-powered. Or, in the case of the Goreacle, fed by heat from the hot air he spews forth.
Don’t you mean, “In the words of Helen Thomas?”
There is no good journalism any more! Not on TV, not in newspapers, not on radio. There is good jounalism on some blogs like Michelle’s, but there are a lot more blogs that are just plain crap. Most so called “journalism” is “opinion” and needs to be reported as such, not as hard news. Michelle gives her opinion, but backs it up with facts. She digs deep and finds the truth. I don’t even trust FOX News to get it right. We just have to take things with a grain of salt until verified.
’scrapper…
Amen!
The writer of the NY Times piece sees all things as a good liberal should, so naturally the editors would love him and give him a pass. Here’s an article he wrote praising Obama’s loose-living, free-wheeling style as something that will be good for the country– while comparing Bush to Hitler because he tried to “live clean.”
None required – the group merely issued a disclaimer; also, although both publications are on borrowed time, the Post will outlast the NYT by a decade or so.
No. The latter is fact, the former fiction.
Spongebob Squarepants has more credibility regarding current news than the NYT.
Yeah, even Helen Thomas has more credibility.
I think I might question that extreme position.
Two times zero is still zero.
Yeah, let’s not exaggerate too much…
Are you aware that the satellite sensor run by the National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) which measures ice was degraded and underestimated the total arctic sea ice by 193,000 square miles?
Where is the NYTimes story on that?
Of course, missing these stories is not all that unusual considering that while they were harping on arctic ice in ‘07, they “missed” the fact that Antarctic ice was at its highest point recorded.
To use an OP/ED piece to prove that the NYTimes “news” is better is a joke, right?
Amen to that! News reports nowadays = opinion pieces. Opinions expressed are not even their own. Since they bought into the Leftist agenda, they echo the Leftist views.
Now, when it is very important that the WH occupant’s authoritarian grab of power (abetted by Congress) get exposed for what it is, the “journalists” are just regurgitating his talking points!
