Tea Party photo album: Fiscal responsibility is the new counterculture

I’ve got tons of photos and e-mails pouring in from Tea Party people across the country. I joked to a Christian Science Monitor reporter covering the events that fiscal responsibility is the new counterculture. More coverage/photos/livestreaming at TCOT Report.

There is, as the old ’60s song goes, something happening here. And what it is, is very clear: A grass-roots revolt against the culture of entitlement. The spendzillas in Washington do not speak for us.

From Susan in San Diego:

Michelle,

Just back from the San Diego Tea Party. Great turn out, the San Diego Police estimated the crowd to have reached 600 and stated that it was a very peaceful and respectful display.

My husband is an immigrant from Australia having arrived in 2005. He was interviewed by several reporters and his message is “I entered this Country legally, was turned down for a home loan and car loan because my credit rating didn’t follow me from Australia. I have had to start all over building credit and now I have to do it while paying everyone else’s debt. When do I get a bailout?”

It has been a GREAT DAY!!!

About 100 of the estimated 600 who protested in Nashville headed over to Democrat Rep. Jim Cooper’s office to give him some peaceful hell:

From Portland via TCOTTV:

From Scott Allan in Shelby AL:

Hi Michelle,

I attended the Shelby, AL Tea Party today organized by @ZanP. I found out about it from your site about 15 minutes before it started.

Considering the severe weather, it was amazing how many people stood outside and/or drove by. Less than one hour before the event, a tornado touched down down the street just one mile away! As you would expect, the people in Alabama were very supportive.

The pictures were taken on my phone while I was trying to hold my umbrella.

From Sidney in San Diego:

From Lori in San Diego:

Dear Michelle, Just got home from the Tea Party in Dan Diego, about three to three hundred and fifty people showed up, yes we had to skip work. What was new is the young families at the rally. Lots of strollers and signs, not sure how loud to be, but glad to have taken part, the signs were great. They are angry and scared for their children’s future loaded with debt. Please let’s keep the heat on, people want to have control of their future and keep what is theirs.

From Allen in Atlanta:

Dear Michelle,

I just wanted to let you know that I attended the Atlanta Tea Party. I would say there were over 200 people who came out and stood in a driving rain to listen to the speakers, and make their voices heard! The inclimate weather was not enough to dampen the spirits of modern day patriots, or to quench their outrage over the Obamanation.

Thanks for all you do, and keep up the good work!

More from Atlanta from reader Scott:

Michelle,

I’m sitting back at my desk, dress shoes, feet, and lower legs soaked, and I feel incredible! Although standing in driving rain, the turnout here in Atlanta was shocking. People spilled out from the steps of the capital building onto the sidewalk on both sides. I saw people of all ages. I saw children in strollers. I saw Americans rallying for America. I love this country enough to fight for it. I’m am elated that despite the weather conditions so many others in Atlanta agreed.

God Bless America.

The Tampa Tribune covers the local Tea Party protest in their backyard.

Andrew Marcus has coverage of the Chicago Tea Party, where the weather was freezing, but the folks were steamed:

From Rachel in Orlando FL:

From Maureen in Austin TX:

[I]n your tracking of the tea parties, several folks stood today in front of the Texas Capitol in support of the Tea Party Movement. It was organized on the fly by Debbie McKee and Peggy Venable is the Texas director of Americans for Prosperity and some others. State Rep Wayne Gilchrist joined us and urged us to make our voices heard. I send this to you in case you want to add it to your site. I think it’s amazing that people can spontaneously come to together and share their views… in most cases, complete strangers!

All the best,

Collie filmed the entire 45 minutes of the Seattle Tea Party. Videos are already posted on YouTube. Here are the links:

Seattle Tea Party – Segment 1
Seattle Tea Party – Segment 2
Seattle Tea Party – Segment 3
Seattle Tea Party – Segment 4
Seattle Tea Party – Segment 5

The videos on YouTube are hosted under my CyberCipher moniker (if you’re trying to do a search).

The original high definition video had to be split into 10 minute segments (to accommodate YouTube) and was downsampled to grainy 340×240 MPEG files. I apologize for the video quality and I will try to do better in the future. I am going to try to order some new software today that will allow me to export the HD video in a MPEG format that is compatible with YouTube.
(REAL hope and change for the future.)

    FROM FORT WORTH:

Went to the Tea Party on Camp Bowie and WOW were there a LOT of people for Fort Worth – and they weren’t worried about the teacups or curving their pinkies!(reported to be about 300 by CBS Channel 11) Met a lady from Spain that just moved here- but holding up the American Flag with us… and lady that was another refugee from Orange County, CA- I welcomed her to sanity and conservative thought- and that there WAS HOPE… She was new to the protest and rally scene…we even had a group of sessionist in one corner but for Me (and my spouse) we stood with the ENGAGERS!!! We don’t want to run away from OUR COUNTRY!!!We want to ENGAGE the ENEMY and their FAILED WAR ON poverty and let them know there is a more prosperous and better WAY….anyway we had good response from the passing cars- lots of horn blowing and flag (USA- RED WHITE AND BLUE) waving…just one obscene driver..always one. I Came back with a tee shirt, that said “yeah, time for a tea party” and tea bag and sign (“THE PROBLEM WITH SOCIALISM EVENTUALLY YOU RUN OUT OF OTHER PEOPLES MONEY”). It was a great tea party and glad to see all the like minded souls in the country…NOW is the time to ACT and do what we can for our country….in Fort Worth there is an upcoming MAYOR RACE in MAY….

This makes everyone who participated and reads the blogs about it feel good, and patriotic, and fulfilled. And that amounts to about 1/10 of 1% of the actual taxpaying, or voting folks.

Granted, it’s a start. But let’s take a deep breath and screw our hats on straight.

This really isn’t going to mean beans. Unless we can get major donors of money to finance a media campaign.

We’re all preaching to the choir. And the choir isn’t loud at all.

So after we pat ourselves on the back like the hollywood and media crowd do so often, we must launch a very factual comeback to the MSM coverage and adoration of Mr. Obama. And use their avenues, and bandwidths, and themselves to get out the messages. BTW there is more than one message.

We should congregate to decide the best way forward. And I personally don’t think CPAC is the right forum.

And I don’t think Michelle is prepared to fill the leadership role, but I may be mistaken.

My one prayer is that our country can tough it out for the next 2, possibly even 4 years to the next election cycle. By the time Ohamas is finished with his “change”, if his SS hasn’t already started rounding people up for their resistance, I think most of America will embrace the “change” of conservatism with open arms. Then again, these same idiots that voted him into office tend to make the same stupid decisions over and over again.

Since Sen. Obama has neither renounced his U.S. citizenship nor sworn an oath of allegiance to Kenya, his Kenyan citizenship automatically expired on Aug. 4,1982.”

Does anyone know what it is that statement means? For the record, it is from Obama’s own campaign.

Nothing….in between, when his mother married Lolo Soetero and moved to Indonesia she changed his citizenship and his name. There is NO PROOF that Obama changed it back to either “British” or US, or from Soetero to Obama either, when he returned to Hawaii. He later traveled on an Indonesian Passport as an adult to Pakistan. Why do you think he is spending so much money to keep all his college papers under wraps? He is a usurper and everything he is doing and everything he is signing is NOT valid.

It is my belief that sooner, rather than later–the worse the situation gets–someone who has access to some piece of this information is going to leak it and then the Fit will really hit the shan……..can’t wait for that day……..the MSM will probably describe what Michelle was wearing when she heard the news……….

Actually, this says EVERYTHING! This is Der Fuhrer’s OWN PEOPLE…not the RNC, not some crack-pot conspiracy theorists, not anyone else…admitting that Der Fuhrer is not now, nor has he ever been, eligible per the Constitution to run for, let alone win and take the Oath of Office to be President of the United States.

And how did they attempt to explain it away further? By saying that none of it matters anyway, since the American People decided it did not matter when they elected him on November 4th.

The problem with that is, the Constitution does not say, “…unless the American People vote for him anyway…”.

Not only will this make him guilty of fraud amongst any number of serious felonies…but it makes any and all Senators, Congresspeople and anyone associated with the Obama Administration guilty as well.

The Constitutional crisis that they have created, which so far has been swept under the rug in order to stave off the inevitable, is unheard of and straight out of a Clancy novel. The repercussions alone in the streets of this country could make 1861 look like a playground squabble.

Right now, it hinges on a couple of officers serving in Iraq, which is finally the best chance there is of exposing this crime. Let’s pray that they are successful and it is finally brought to light before any further damage to this country and the Constitution is done.
