I’m at the DC Tea Party protest in Lafayette Park. Several hundred taxpayers are here to show their opposition to the spendalooza in Washington, D.C. as part of the nationwide demonstrations. Some photos from my iphone (see my twitpic page for original size). More to come. Send me yours:

Obama’s policies are nothing less than the re-institution of slavery in the United States. I can show you many verses in the Bible (some that are more than 3 thousand years old) that equate debt with bondage/slavery. So we truly ARE faced with a choice between Liberty and Slavery(Debt).

The liberals aren’t going to like me very much when I popularize my new name for Obama — the slave trader in chief.

OFF TARGET BUT IMPORTANT: According to a tax professional, the change in withholding in Obama’s “tax cut” does not come with a change in the tax rate or structure. Ergo, you will still owe the same amount of taxes next year - in effect, you’ll have to give the money back in 2010. I’m not a tax expert so I don’t know if this is completely accurate or not, but I’d suggest everybody better be ready for it, even though the amounts in question are relatively small.

Not true. Well…not entirely true. It is accurate that there is no change in the tax structure (i.e., your marginal rate stays the same). So, essentially your tax bill for the year remains the same. However, the credit then comes in and acts basically as if you had made a $400 payment on your tax bill. One can take this credit as a reduction in withholding, or all at once next year. So your tax professional is wrong if he told you it would have to be paid back.

My limited understanding is that there will be a tax credit for 2009 that you’ll be able to claim on your return, however the tax tables will be modified so that by the end of the year you will have received it already through reduced withholding. The government wants you to spend it now, instead of waiting to get the credit when you file your taxes 10 or so months from now.

New tax tables will be available no later than 4/1 that will reflect the slightly reduced withholding amounts (technically, the IRS has released them, but software vendors have until the first of April to make them available to their clients).

Here too….no black faces. Where are the black citizens that see through this socialistic nightmare being created by this administration. Michael Steele shouldn’t have to shoulder all the weight. Please encourage your black neighbors who are paying their mortgages to attend future rallies.

Like me, they were all at work. I’ll see them at the gun show this weekend.

Even if there is little turnout today, this was a success, because we have shown it can be done. This is exactly how the anti-bush movement started, except it was smaller to start with. Have no fear. They will only get bigger and badder.

Being a product of the liberal indoctrinatation that you received courtesy of our education system, you wouldn’t understand the real meaning of “Country”. Your idea probably include the UN as a country.

I tried to make the event in DC, but got there about 1:15, by which point almost everything over. There were two other protests in action in the large area, plus the resident protester (nuclear war) by the central statue of Andrew Jackson when he was still a general.

The best part–and I thought someone else would have posted a picture of him or I would have taken a picture to share–was a teenager with a large poster. On the left was written: “Found in a dumpster behind the Capitol”, with an arrow that pointed to the right of the poster with one of those large fake foolscap versions of the Constitution. (I did congratulate him on the good job.)

Sorry, Michelle, that I missed you.

Hey I love My Country ,, notice there were not Hammer and Cycles either or did you notice. Are you implying that only leftists can protest? I don’t understand your liberalism at all when the only choice you offer is abortion. I bet you are against the volunteer armed services, pro school choice, and anything else that there is a choice to. Just saw BO’s new tax proposals on small businesses and corporations and now I wonder how many will want to leave the USA or even bother invest in business withese added hinderances. I know I would not invest in a business. Savage had it right this is poverty creeping upwards.

Just an awful lot of “I would like go to a rally/protest-I work”. That is true but for how long and how many times? We have that problem in every organization I belong to. Then please try to find some time, make some time, to do something.

I can see where most of you, I am retired for the most part, can’t take off on a minutes notice to do a Tea Party. How about you local Republican Precinct meetings, candidate forums, county events? There certainly is enough time lead there, some schedule you can fit in.

Is your big issue the Second Amendment? I am sure there is a RKBA organization in your area that could use your help.

You can follow one of those links to your state. No you can’t miss work, that is not what we do. But our country, our children and ourgrandchildren’s country is being stolen from them. Too busy?

My father was called up for One Year Hemispheric National Service (the Draft) in March of 1941. My mother saw him again in January of 1946 if that tells you anything. They got me as compensation :) –I hope it was

In defense of many of the likely people to go to a protest in Washington, DC, CPAC is going on. The most likely locals to attend were running things there.

And Chaputier’s joke (#32) that all the DC Republicans were there is not that far off anyway.

This is exactly the kind of racist remark I would expect from I HATE MY COUNTRY. ALL of the liberals I know, to the man, use this kind of language. People, who just happen to not be white, hear this kind of bulls–t from the MSM, TV, etc. and buy into nonsense that Republican/conservatives are not willing to include them. No more of your crap, IHMC.
