Scenes from the D.C. Tea Party; Updated, vid added

By Michelle Malkin  •  February 27, 2009 12:35 PM

I’m at the DC Tea Party protest in Lafayette Park. Several hundred taxpayers are here to show their opposition to the spendalooza in Washington, D.C. as part of the nationwide demonstrations. Some photos from my iphone (see my twitpic page for original size). More to come. Send me yours:

It seems your choice for POTUS supports the troops and – for now – the war.

Today he announced a date certain for US forces being out of Iraq, and more or less on the schedule he announced during the campaign. I wish we could get out faster, but we are getting out. Obama seems to be keeping his promises.

I’m a little late in getting in on this thread, but thanks for reporting this successful event Michelle. The threat to our liberties and freedoms by this irresponsible regime must be fought at every step. For now we chose to fight back peacefully until we are left with no other option. Give me liberty or give me death!

Geez- Yea, let’s let the enemy know just exactly what is going on. (ala Fienstien) You do realize he is sending troops to Afganistan? That’s the problem you bonehead, he’s keeping his promises.

And I’m sure Al-qaida made special note of it.

thus broadcasting troop movements during wartime. They used to shoot people who did that because it quite often got people killed.

*** Does not apply to the 50,000 he will leave wide open in iraq to “train” iraqis.

I tried to make the event in DC, but got there about 1:15, by which point almost everything over. There were two other protests in action in the large area, plus the resident protester (nuclear war) by the central statue of Andrew Jackson when he was still a general.

The best part–and I thought someone else would have posted a picture of him or I would have taken a picture to share–was a teenager with a large poster. On the left was written: “Found in a dumpster behind the Capitol”, with an arrow that pointed to the right of the poster with one of those large fake foolscap versions of the Constitution. (I did congratulate him on the good job.)

Sorry, Michelle, that I missed you.

Hey I love My Country ,, notice there were not Hammer and Cycles either or did you notice. Are you implying that only leftists can protest? I don’t understand your liberalism at all when the only choice you offer is abortion. I bet you are against the volunteer armed services, pro school choice, and anything else that there is a choice to. Just saw BO’s new tax proposals on small businesses and corporations and now I wonder how many will want to leave the USA or even bother invest in business withese added hinderances. I know I would not invest in a business. Savage had it right this is poverty creeping upwards.

Just an awful lot of “I would like go to a rally/protest-I work”. That is true but for how long and how many times? We have that problem in every organization I belong to. Then please try to find some time, make some time, to do something.

I can see where most of you, I am retired for the most part, can’t take off on a minutes notice to do a Tea Party. How about you local Republican Precinct meetings, candidate forums, county events? There certainly is enough time lead there, some schedule you can fit in.

Is your big issue the Second Amendment? I am sure there is a RKBA organization in your area that could use your help.

You can follow one of those links to your state. No you can’t miss work, that is not what we do. But our country, our children and ourgrandchildren’s country is being stolen from them. Too busy?

My father was called up for One Year Hemispheric National Service (the Draft) in March of 1941. My mother saw him again in January of 1946 if that tells you anything. They got me as compensation :) –I hope it was

I’ll keep my guns, you keep the change.

In defense of many of the likely people to go to a protest in Washington, DC, CPAC is going on. The most likely locals to attend were running things there.

And Chaputier’s joke (#32) that all the DC Republicans were there is not that far off anyway.

This is exactly the kind of racist remark I would expect from I HATE MY COUNTRY. ALL of the liberals I know, to the man, use this kind of language. People, who just happen to not be white, hear this kind of bulls–t from the MSM, TV, etc. and buy into nonsense that Republican/conservatives are not willing to include them. No more of your crap, IHMC.
