Meet new HHS nominee Kathleen Sebelius — or rather, Kathleen Taxelius
Barack Obama just introduced his latest candidate for the HHS position from which Tom Daschele withdrew over his, you know, tax goofs.
The new pick is Kansas Democrat Gov. Kathleen Sebelius. You’ll remember her cardboard-stiff SOTU response last and her snotty trashing of Sarah Palin.
Looks like there are no nanny and IRS issues in Sebelius’s closet. Her problem isn’t that she’s a tax cheat. It’s that she’s a taxaholic:

Kansas Has A High Tax Burden:
Kansas Ranks In The Bottom Half Of States For State Business Tax Climate. “Kansas ranks 31st in the Tax Foundation’s State Business Tax Climate Index. The Index compares the states in five areas of taxation that impact business: corporate taxes; individual income taxes; sales taxes; unemployment insurance taxes; and taxes on property, including residential and commercial property. Kansas Has The 13th Highest Property Tax Burden. The American Legislative Exchange Council ranks Kansas 38th among states’ property tax burdens, with 1st being the lowest, and 50th being the highest. Sebelius’ Solution To High Taxes Is To Raise More Taxes:
Sebelius Has Called For Hiking The State Sales Tax 8%, The Income Tax By 5%, And Property Tax 10%. “The governor proposes to: Increase the state’s sales tax rate from 5.3 to 5.5 percent on July 1, to 5.6 percent in 2005 and to 5.7 percent in 2006. Impose a 5 percent surcharge on personal income taxes, with no expiration date specified. Her Plan Would Have Raised Over $600 Million In New Taxes. “[Gov. Already This Year, Sebelius Has Come Out In Favor Of A $0.50 Per Pack Cigarette Tax Increase, Saying She'd Be "Twisting Arms" To Help Pass It. "Gov. Given what we have seen so far, this is not surprising in the least. What was it about refusing to release tax refunds to American Taxpayers that had over paid on their taxes? Seems I remember something about that somewhere in her qualifications?
I have seen a number of Christians cite “social justice” as a reason to vote for people like this. They need to explain how they believe that massive taxation, rationed statist healthcare, welfare-dependent citizens, property confiscation, and tyrannical government achieves social justice. Government has never before delivered social justice, how it going to do that, now that policies are being implemented that wil guarantee a dead economy?

Since 2002, there has been public outry about the amount of money Tiller has pumped into Kansas politics. Since then he has made efforts to mask his political contributions by creating dummy “non-profit” organizations and other third-party groups that in turn make donations to candidates or make expenditures for political activity that has affected the outcome of elections, without having to give an accounting to the Kansas Governmental Ethics Commission, or anyone else.
Dr Tiller’s specialty is aborting babies with Down syndrome. Very late term babies. People need to know about this horror, his ties to sebelius, and their ties together to some of the most unseemly and despicable acts of violence against children. and if I can dream, may I please put in a request for some justice for Christin Gilbert, a young woman with Down syndrome who died at his hands while his clinic refused to call for help.

This is the problem I have with much ballyhooed federal tax cuts. Whatever the feds relinquish, the states grab. It happened on Reagan’s watch and it’s happening now. No wonder us taxpayers often feel abused, cheated, conned and lied to.
Okay, I’m confused. I was born and raised in Kansas, but haven’t lived there for nigh on 30 years. Is this guy a Republican, RINO, or Democrat?

Kathy Sebelius, aka Kathy Gilligan, as she was known when I knew her growing up in Cincinnati. Her father is former Cincinnati and 1 term Ohio governor John Gilligan. Yep the same John Gilligan who had the proud achievement of introducing a state income tax to Ohio. Interestingly, Kathy grew up Catholic and attended the exclusive Summit Country Day school in the tony Hyde Park area of Cincinnati for her primary and secondary education. Summit was and is a private Catholic school. It is very surprising and disappointing that Kathy has taken an aggressive position on abortion considering her background. She must have been asleep during all of those religion classes.
Are you sure she’s not planning to run for Schwartzenegger’s job?

I live in OP, Kansas, for those not in Kansas, that’s basically the Kansas side of Kansas City and couldn’t not be happier that this witch is leaving our fine state.

It’s very simple, RedDog. They believe social justice will be achieved when everyone is equal even if that means everyone is equally poor. If the economy is destroyed in the process, even better. That reduces global warming gasses and forces everyone to live like Dumpster Muffin, a lifestyle they consider to be ideal.
And don’t forget the revenge factor. Looters hate Producers even though they are dependent on them. Like leaches, they use government to suck dry the wealthy and successful even if that means destroying themselves in the process. They can’t help it any more than they can help being tax and spend liberals. It’s in their nature. But when will the rest of us learn that the liberal agenda is a suicide mission?
I realized that before I was ten years old. Even back in the late seventies and early eighties when I was in school, most of the teachers were still not blatantly liberal but very few could actually debate facts and those few that could were all … (Insert gasp of surprise here) conservatives … and ultimately, mentors and friends. Mind you, by the time I was in High School it was so bad that I completed my education at home.
Yet another criminal democRAT. Seems like a lot of her state appointment are criminals – and that all democRAT officials seem to know and associate with a lot of felons – like BO does. I don’t know any crooks personally and none of my conservative friends do either. Odd isn’t it. I think its time for the dems to ditch their symbol, the jackass, for the Hamburgler. No doubt that if Lee Harvey Oswald were alive, he would be a democRAT political star, or maybe an aid to Jack Murtha (D) murderer of US soilders.

Every state with Dem top officials has someone resigning or going to jail. We got 3 dem governors out in less than a year, numerous AG’s. You gotta show the people.
