Obama’s sorry cultists
I’ve reminded you before of NYTimes’ columnist David Brooks’ boneheaded Ivy League ejaculations about the Obama administration.
Now, the once-enamored Kool-Aid drinker admits his cult leader is not the man he knew:
“Those of us who consider ourselves moderates are forced to confront the reality that Barack Obama is not who we thought he was.”
What an unbelievable waste of time and real estate is David Brooks. It’s profane.
Which is why Robert Stacy McCain’s expletive-filled smackdown is the only appropriate and satisfying response.
On a related note, remember the “Sorry Everybody” campaign of leftists apologizing to the world for George Bush?
Doug Powers has launched the perfect spoof on behalf of pathetic Obama supporters suffering buyers’ remorse everywhere. A sample:

I told Doug he needs to add a sorry David Brooks’ photoshop. Volunteers?

I’d volunteer only I don’t even want to pretend that I voted for Obambi!
OMG, That’s too funny!
TANSTAAFL
Wouldn’t calling Obama the “Chauncey Gardner” of the presidency be an apt comparison as well?
You know times are bad when the fishwrap-of-record starts doubting. The end of the world is near.
The photo is great, but replace the cigarette w/a doobie & you’d have the typical obama voter.
TRANSLATION: “I will never admit how shrilly hysterical and wrong I was about the ‘threat’ posed by Sarah Palin (and other principled, unalloyed conservatives). Not even if Barack Obama starts swallowing live human infants whole, on the White House lawn, in broad daylight; while, simultaneously, signing the Executive Order adding two new permanent seats to the Supreme Court, boldly declaring his intention to place Hugo Chavez and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad thereupon. Never. Never never never never NEVER.”
They did not think he’d be this bad? They’re kidding, right? Either they are liars or they are stupid to the point of brain dead. Regardless of the lack of Press vetting, you would have to be wilfully ignorant not to know what Barack Obama is.
The really pathetic part of this ordeal are the lock-step Democrats in Congress, few of whom will challenge these absurd “policies”.
My money would be on both.
Wow, David Brooks gets paid $300K a year? No wonder he’s mad. He’s going to have to pay higher taxes!
No, but seriously, Brooks was never a conservative, and his columns in the NYT have been a complete waste of space for a long time.
After allowing himself to be duped into helping with the manipulation of a socialist into office, David Brooks should have the journalistic integrity to censure himself.
Now they find out his true agenda. Too late, but not too late for The Truth. Maybe by 2010 certain people just might see the light.
We are a country of sheeple….
Next up: the videotape from the Palestinian tribute event w/Mr. Obama!
BROOKS reminds me of the guy who approached the hooker… How much he inquired??? 100 dollars, she replied… OKEY DOKE he said… After completion of THE DEED, he said to the LADY, that was not worth 100 dollars and began to try negotiation… The hooker then told him that after he was completed to his satisfaction he no longer thought it was WORTH the 100 dollars, but when he was HORNY, 100 dollars was FINE… Well, BROOKS had better like it because he made the bed, so to speak, and now he must sleep in it…
What exactly is a “moderate” anyway? Isn’t that the same thing as “No principles, won’t fight for anything”? Or maybe “I’m not into reefer but please invite me to the party! PLEASE!!!“?
In other words, today’s prototypical Republican.
http://iowahawk.typepad.com/iowahawk/2008/10/as-a-conservative-i-must-say-i-do-quite-like-the-cut-of-this-obama-fellows-jib.html I know Michelle linked this back in October 08, but it is the funniest parody of the David Brooks of this world and why they came out for Obama.
To put it mildly, when presented with clueless people, Im not the most gracious person in the world.
I have no problem throwing everything back in every idiots face:
“I know dumba$$es; Dumba$$es have been friends of mine. And you sir, are a dumba$$. I. TOLD. YOU. SO!“
GEE HAW, so glad they can now see what we saw two years ago.
Can you say OOPS?
Unfortunately for the United States of America and its constitution, sorry doesn’t cut it.
WE TOLD YOU SO.
If I remember correctly;
Chauncy Gardner only liked to watch and much in the same vein as Gump, Forrest Gump he actually did seem to do some good by just watching and Being There.
My father voted for Obama and said that if he was wrong about him, he would be the first to say so.All I could think was,”By then it is too late.Just educate yourself, even a little, about him”.As an excuse, my father is a lifelong democrat and was in the uaw for 35 years. What excuse do the rino’s have?
Just wait until Obamunists in the class of 2009, degrees in hand and eager to march out to change the world, realize they will be doing it behind the counter at McDonalds. The whining will be enough keep us from falling asleep at night. Maybe some will convert in time for the Fourth of July demonstrations.
I think B.O.’s policies were painfully clear when he answered JTP’s question. It’s just that too many of America was blinded by the hope – n – change party in the media. Even my 75 YO mother in law, that hasn’t voted democrat her entire life, voted for Barak. . .because Oprah told her to.
Don’t blame me, I voted for Sarah.
Brooks is admitting he fell for the production and not the product. Meanwhile, from the same lame-brains as Brooks, Jindal gets raked over the coals for a great product with bad production.
Bring back Blindmule. He apologized to lgm.
I think the lemming is a more apt animal right now.
The dow is cliff diving again. WTF did obama say now????
Bernanke is talking on the hill.
Here’s a silver lining to that dark cloud. I no longer suffer from having to hear hosannas about Obama from my municipal government-employed liberal friends.
After today’s local elections, most are expecting announcements of massive layoffs as private sector job flight (that word just doesn’t capture the velocity of what is happening here) continues to accelerate in CA generally and LA in particular.
So who is going to pay for those cushy government jobs now that those evil tax-paying corporations and greedy employees have been chased away?
Moderate = spineless
It’s times like this when I think I ought to move to Alaska.
Latest message from another effeminate moderate Tim Pawlenty: “Get over Reagan! Big government is good!”
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=a97T5pGNMgp8&refer=home
It is because of people like David Brooks that I no longer watch much news on TV anymore.
I used to watch Brit Hume, but when he and his panel – Mort Kondrake, Charles Krauthammer, and even Hume himself started drooling over Obama, I just couldn’t stomach it.
Let this be the first of many “I told ya so”s.
Right now, Glenn Beck & Laura Ingraham (and Michelle Malkin of course) are the only people I want to hear from. If you are not outraged and foaming at the mouth at what Obama is doing to our country and to our children, something is very wrong with you.
Right on point and worth repeating.
If as I suspect we are seeing in the arrogant stupidity of the Hope-a-Dope administration the seeds of this country’s undoing being planted, I have to step back and ask myself who is worse:
- The man planting the seeds; or
- Those who handed him the seeds.
Anyone who honestly believed thet “The Candyman” was going to magically make everything better must also believe in the Tooth Fairy, Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. We deny little children the Franchise for a reason, the same reason why these people should be denied it.
And anyone who didn’t believe the hype yet voted for The Man on Unicorn anyway deserves to be flogged, for their cynicism and selfishness will cost all of us and our descendants dearly for the rest of this century.
On March 3rd, 2009 at 11:18 am, hunter said:
Bingo. Obama could open his mouth and give the rest of the day a death blow.
Pretty much agree.
I’d add Pamela Geller at Atlas Shrugs.
Exactly.
Well said. The GOP needs to find a way to get Jindal on the national stage often. I spent some time over the past week trying to get through the dorky, awkward persona he showed last Tuesday and have come to the conclusion that there is real fire in his belly. He is only 37 and is wildly popular in Louisiana as a conservative. He comes across really well in his natural environment and has a terrific wife and family. The more America sees of that, the better he will do IMHO.
Does it make sense to make a sitting governor chairman of the RNC?
We52% of voters area country ofsheeple….I have been so outraged and upset watching Barakadoodledoo that I quit posting. Seeing the spread of TEA PARTIES has inspired me to once again join the fray.
I’m reading of people who have decided to stop earning, to stop paying their mortgages, and start bartering so as not to have to pay taxes. To each of them I say GO FOR IT.
I for one have lost all incentive to achieve.
Bernanke needs to keep his pie-hole shut. He’s in over his head as are everyone on the Hill.
Gee, our “best and brightest intellectuals” like David Brooks and Christopher Buckley are just now figuring out that Obama is a total left-wing socialist … while a so-called “anti-intellectual” rube like Sarah Palin had it figured out all along.
Go figure.
Good question.
Hell, make me RNC chairman!
I promise I at least wouldn’t slobber over the socialists and the media fools.
Bernanke’s Senate testimony is going very badly so far. He is being very evasive.
BTW: another effeminate RINO Lindsay Graham (not to be confused with the forever hot Lindsay Wagner)keeps referring to himself as a humble conservative Republican from SC. It fell flat the first time Senator, drop it. No one buys it.
I second.
Hmmm. So…the predicted “Buyer’s Remorse” has begun? Where were their heads when we tried to warn them? No need to answer that…
Trust God and keep reloading and firing…
Would someone put a gag on O-BUM-A and not to utter a word or alphabet that’s tied to the economy? Doesn’t HE have a clue that everytime he does it, Wall Street goes down as fast as you can say SELL. DJIA was hovering at 13000 early 2008, after OB’s nomination the Dow plunged down and when it’s apparent that he’s going to win, the Dow started it’s downward spiral. Since then, everytime He opens his trap, the Dow and other financial indexes takes a tumble and now the Dow is under 7000, losing almost 50% of its value in less than a year. There goes my retirement funds and can I take a number now while I’m waiting for my share of his SHAMALUS Bill? Not….
I think HE’s actually enjoying this one since this particular scenario plays right into his playbook, Socialism. Stoke the flame of crisis as a prelude to OB’s solution -Big government.
Any bumper stickers available out there to rub their noses in it?
“Don’t blame me, I voted for Sara”
“Is this the Change you Hoped for?”
“The Obama Deficit: Change we can pay for – for generations”
To borrow a line from JD:
I second.
Your governor has been running TV commercials trying to con somebody (anybody!) into moving there. Not to wish you ill, but I hope you get every unemployed deadbeat in Texas – and our entire illegal population.
Now that’s original!
Moron.
Paging Ms Parker, paging Ms Parker….
What a satisfying read it was to inhale the words of Robert Stacy McCain. I feel so much better after that. Thank you for sharing Michelle.

Millions more like this knucklehead put Obama in the White House. Enough said.
“Don’t blame me I didn’t vote for the KBPOTUS!”

This is Sparta!
or that little girlie man either!
I saw a magazine at a grocery checkout (I couldn’t tell you which mag) & it had a picture of M.O. on it–beside the photo it read ‘The First Lady (We’ve) been Waiting For’. I took the magazine to the clerk at the checkout & asked her if she had been waiting for Michelle Obama. She said ‘no’.
That’s two that I know for sure, so what’s this ‘we’ stuff?!
I thought Iowahawk was spoofing William F Buckley’s overpriviledged and under intelligent son when he endorsed Obama.
But the whole lot of so called ‘conservatives’ like Noonan and the such, who detested Palin and loved Obama, should be thrown in a lake with stones tied to their feet.
Except that might damage the aquatic life.
California has been in trouble for decades. Certain traditionally lib run states, like California and New York, have been famous for offering very high welfare benefits. Much higher than those paid by states like Mississippi.
Then when you add illegal immigration to the list, and a state known for not checking immigration status before offering very generous benefits, well, it is a recipe for trouble.
To think dumb hicks like us saw this coming all along.
Regrets and apologies ain’t gonna cut it. Should’ve paid attention to what we were saying in the first place before the election. Brooks doesn’t speak for all moderates and especially not for moderate-conservatives, which he claims to be.
No, many of us don’t like Obama’s (government’s) investments. No, many of us don’t support the DemocRats’ version of health care reform.
Yer funny, Brooks. A real comedian, you are.
I’d say more, but R.S.McCain has a point. I’ve got more important things to cogitate on than this lamenter’s belated pontifications.
Amazing! Voting for someone who never had a real job. BHo used the hopes of the poor while he advanced his education and status; used divorce papers of his opponents to get elected; did nothing, voted present and now has exposed the entire country to Chicago thug politics and now we hear about voters remorse? We tried to tell them about BHO and they thought we were the nuts. I give it a few more months and we won’t find anyone admitting that they voted for BHO.
I had Obama pegged as a Marxist last Winter, when I got involved in Operation Chaos and crossed over to vote for Hillary Rotten Clinton in the primary…
It wasn’t hard. Raised by marxist, with a marxist mentor, and marxist college professors and attending a race based marxist church, did anyone (except the lemmings of course) expect anything but a marxist???
DEE DEE DEE
that iowahawk article “i like the cut of his jib” is histerical. on point, and telling. i tried to tell some of my work staff last fall that obambi was a communist, but they were sure he was so smart he wouldn’t do what he has done. DON’T BLAME ME, I VOTED FOR SARAH.

Listen and listen attentively. This is what is already happening. We should BE stopping the fall, not condoning Obambi’s policies which accelerate it.
and then his wife finds out and now the $100 costs him $100,000 in the divorce! Kind of like what is happening to the country — Gee, Mr. Brooks – I’ll bet it felt good to vote for and promote the Messiah for a couple of weeks. Got invited to some pretty swanky parties maybe? Dipstick!
Jack Cafferty’s Obama Drool Bucket is Overflowing:
I thought that the iowahawk parody was bout Buckley’s kid….. maybe I was wrong.
Sounds like it was good for him…
I wonder how the average Obama swing voter feels? Do they actually feel lied to or are they oblivious to it as the MSM keeps the wall of delusion up over reality.
How long can Obama blame Bush before the swing voters finally say. “Enough! Now it’s YOUR fault”?
Brooks wrote:
What he means is: we never thought he would honor his campaign promises to provide universal health care and protect the environment. We thought he was just another lying politician. We supported him only because he was more competent than McCain. The prospect of a complete airhead –Palin — was enough to scare even us to support Obama.
And lgm is still quaffing mightily of the Kool-Aid.
That’s a parody of that clown Chris Buckley.
Chris is to his dad what Ron Reagan Jr is to his father.
Yep.
We’re wondering about what we can and must do to save our wonderful nation/society/culture…and the cheerleader comes in with her pom-poms and essentially posts nothing more than:
“Two bits,
Four bits,
Six bits,
A dollar,
Ev’ryone for ‘Bama,
Stand up and holler!
Yay!!!”
Translation: “Everything is going down the drain” – including the nation’s prosperity!
(Thanks, Helen Thomas, for the paraphrase.)
I had to add what Brooks left out.
Ah well least of our worries. Pork spending is still in the “stimulas” The DOW keeps droping like no tomorrow. And showing no signs of stoping. The US is…..shockingly enough might be asking for the Chinese to help us out with troops in Afghanistan. A mistake, China is a vast nation with massive military power to call on, asking them to help, well be seen as an invite to take the region.
Next we are hell bent on making a two State resolution to the Isreali problem. We will be open to “suggestions” from Moscow on the Missile Defense and regional afiars. Russia Wants that land back. Not to be our friends. Russia was treated baddly with the fall of the USSR and that haterd is in the hearts of the people, they want vengance.
And with Iran and North Korea he wants to negoiate from a position of trust and deplomacy. Except the mind sets of the leaderships will not care for that but in taking. The US in its current of Obama form is finished as a respectable global power.
I wouldn’t have thought it possible to free-base Kool-Aid. Who knew?
1. You are no more “moderate” than I am.
2. You are an idiot.
3. Making good on disasters is NOT a good thing.
4. You are still an idiot.
5. There is NO problem with the environment.
6. BHO is a lying politician. I can’t pass this one up. $410 billion spending package passed “with no earmarks” BHO
7. You continue to be an idiot.
8. You keep saying “we” like you are a moderate.
9. Palin – airhead? Just proves how really stooopid you are.
10. Palin scared you – HAHAHAHHAAAAA – Palin ’12
11. Idiot
12. Idiot because I wanted a dozen.
After I read David Brooks’ NYT article, the first thing that popped into my mond was the title to a old sci-fi novel……. “The Sheep Look Up”. We are going to be seeing a lot more cases of buyers remorse in the future.
I guess this means are you all prepared to apologize for Bush, whose reckless incompetence all but ensured a Democrat winning in 2008? Are you willing to accept that, as inept and unqualified as you believe Obama to be, the American people still preferred him over the Clueless Drama Queen/Bumbling Yokel ticket the GOP put forth last year?
The 2008 election did not happen in a vaccuum. This is a democracy and we’re all in this together. We all need to be mature enough to accept our portion of responsibility for what happens to our country, for good or bad. I can accept that Clinton’s narcissism and abuses of his office set the stage for Bush’s election. Are you all mature enough to accept responsibility for the actions of your team as well? Until you do, don’t expect anyone to take you seriously.
Buyer’s remorse? That didn’t take long now, did it?
Wait until his phony tax hikes for the rich scheme actually trickles down to folks making $50K or more. Just you wait.
Those that thought their mortgages and gas would be paid for by Obama are going to be in for a real wake up call.
Are you freaking kidding me?! The people here are and were some of the biggest critics of Bush policy!
Therein lies the difference though, rational people disagree with policy and discuss it, irrational (ie the left) people go off the deap end and burn people in effigy to try and get their point accross not willing to enter any sort of intelligent debate.
Sorry, but no one beats Joe “gaffetastic” Biden in that department. Please…
Fact: McCain was our choice and our demise.
Try again.
HUGGYBEAR:
Oh no, this obama mess is ALL on you and your fellow marxist loving ….
Democrats don’t care about saving America. They just want to preside over the rubble.
Exhibit A: Detroit, MI.
Anyone else find it rich that Dear Leader is always whining about the deficit he “inherited” when he “inherited” it from a Democrat Congress that he was a member of?
If Palin is an “airhead” why do liberals fear her?
Taking debate lessons from On-my-soap-box (#82):
1. I am too more moderate than you.
2. You are an idiot.
3.
Creating disaster is too a good thing. It’s all the fault of Bush and Limbaugh.4. You are still an idiot.
5. Scientists are smarter than Republicans, even conservative scientists are smarter than Palin.
6. Obama is great. The stimulus package passed with no earmarks.
7. You continue to be an idiot.
8. I am more main stream than you.
9. Palin, airhead!
10. Palin is a blessing. She put Obama in the White House.
11. Idiot
12. Idiot, because you don’t have anything else to say.
Turns out, though, Sarah Palin was right about Chairman Zero being a big-spending socialist. Also right about him cutting off domestic energy exploration. Also right about him being anti-business. (No businessmen among his advisers, and massive increases in business taxes and regulations.) Right about him sympathizing with terrorists. ($900 million to Hamas.)
Sarah was a lot smarter than a lot of her critics about those truths.
Boy, On-my-soap-box, looks like lgm really took you to the woodshed! I have never seen such logic and reason used in such a fashion.
Perhaps the greatest argument was:
The only thing missing was the clincher used by so many liberals, the “nanny-nanny-boo-boo!” argument.
I always find it interesting that with lgm any discussion of Palin is totally devoid of any criticism of any issues that Palin favors…….
Speaks volumes.
Villians and victims the life blood of libs. Conservatives are never just wrong or ill-informed. They are stupid and/or evil.
It is so intellectually shallow, you could wade in it barefoot and your toenails would stay dry.
At least he didn’t resort to the devastating “I’m rubber and you’re glue…” gambit. There’s no recovery from that.
But it falls perilously close to the “I know you are, but what am I?” gambit. a.k.a. the Peewee maneuver.
Yep, I may need a bath I feel so dirty.
There is little doubt he is a plant. Nobody is that stupid.

Reminds me of that clip of Tom Brokaw and another commentator going back and forth about how they don’t know who Obama really is…etc. It was funny and very very sad all at the same time. Yeah, a lot of “buyer’s remorse” going around. This from a “journalist” who didn’t have the balls to actually investigate the man who would be President of the United States. Past associates and friends? No big deal. Not important. “Rev.” Wright’s black liberation church for 20 years? Well, everyone knows Obama didn’t hear the awful rhetoric coming from that man’s mouth. Must have been the sermons that Obama happened to miss. Birth certificate? Well, he showed us a “certified” copy. Good enough. Socialism comments? His admission that he used Saul Alinsky as his model? Oh, that was in the past. Chicago thug political machine? Obama cut his teeth on those kinds of politics, but he has changed. He isn’t like that any more. I have heard it all from these idiots. And NOW they are saying, “Barack Obama is not who we thought he was.” Oh Lord, I think I am going to be sick.
