Fair enough. It could in fact mean that she would intend to use force. But given Obama’s stated positions on these issues, do you really think that’s likely? I just don’t believe she has that much pull or that she’s got the administration behind her in that regard.

But I’ll say this. It’s probably accepted by most that she is the least likely person in the cabinet that one would want to mess with. aka.. she’s probably the most hawkish. But I don’t think that’s the administration’s stance.

Neither purposely ignored nor disingenuous about it. My opinion of what she means by “prevent” is to convince them with talks that building a nuke is not in their best interests. That’s been the Dems way and there’s nothing “on the table” as you say that says they’ll ultimately handle it any differently.

And the point is simply that the Democrats are hell bent on doing things differently than the “Evil Bush Regime”.. namely, as Obama himself has said, he wants to talk.

Well, it’s been demonstrated by history that despotic regimes such as Iran and North Korea love to “talk” to the West. They’ll give Hilary tidbits to take back to the White House and little hints that they “might” consider cooperating… if only the deal is just right. Oh… they won’t stop their nuke program while these talks are going on. And ultimately, they’ll reject any deal as an insult or as meddling in their internal affairs. Then they’ll build what they want anyway. In this case… a Nuke.

So to me, the word “prevent” in this administration’s vocabulary means anything BUT the use of force. Which I suspect is how you may have interpreted the use of the word.

On a somewhat related note, my wife made an observation this morning about OB. She said since he came from humble beginnings, he’s living kind of like the kids from the projects that get drafted by the NFL or the NBA. Suddenly having more money than they know what to do with, they just go on a reckless spending spree.

Looking at the Wednesday night Kobe beef parties at the Whitehouse, the Friday night date nights and Michelle’s weekly flights back to Chi town to hang with her friends, I realized she’s right. These are people drunk with money and power without a manager to hold the leash. Next thing ya know they’ll be underage coke & hooker parties in the Whitehouse and dog fighting at Camp David.
