New Rush Derangement Syndrome project: A DNC-funded billboard

Just arrived in my emailbox from the DNC: Solicitations for a new anti-Rush Limbaugh billboard the Democrat Party plans to put up in Palm Beach, Florida. Do Democrat donors really think this is the best use of their money?
I’m Jen O’Malley Dillon, the new Executive Director of the Democratic National Committee.
If you’re anything like me, then you’ve had the urge to talk back to a right-wing talk radio host more than a few times. Now you can.
Rush Limbaugh has made waves lately about his desire to see President Obama fail. And he’s unapologetic, even though Americans voted in November for the very kind of change the President is bringing to Washington. As even Limbaugh must know, if the President fails, America fails.
Incredibly, Republican leaders have yet to condemn Limbaugh for his destructive comments. In fact, Republicans like Congressman Eric Cantor, a leader in the House, have adopted the Limbaugh strategy, telling the Washington Post recently that their strategy on the President’s jobs plan was “just saying no.”
The only Republican leader to challenge Limbaugh — the chairman of the Republican National Committee — even called Rush to apologize just a few days later.
But we have no apologies for Rush, just a message. We need you to come up with a slogan, in ten words or less, that we’ll put on a billboard where he can’t miss it — in his hometown of West Palm Beach, Florida.
Can you help us come up with a message for Rush that we’ll place on a billboard right in his hometown?
We’ll go through all the slogans we get, and the winner will have his or her message appear on the billboard — and receive a free T-shirt featuring the winning slogan.
If Republican leaders aren’t willing to tell Rush, then we will. Americans want President Obama to succeed. Our country’s future depends on it. Rooting for the President’s failure is rooting for our country to fail.
To get America back on a path to prosperity, we’ll need to leave behind the failed partisan attack politics of the past. Americans voted for a new direction in November. Choosing Rush Limbaugh to be the voice of their party — as Republican leaders have done — is not the answer.
Send in your suggestion of ten words or less for a billboard and we’ll choose the best one to put in Rush’s own “backyard”:

Thanks,
Jen

I submitted another one:
Rush to the banks before Obama’s economy tanks.
I think they would prefer we sing “Don’t Worry, be Happy” by Bobby McFerrin. In which he’s saying just keep smiling and be happy and ignore all the bad stuff happening.
But, that song just makes me want to BREAK things!
tre …
Yep … probably true … so then we could all do the Snoopy Happy Dance
I suggested…
“In Obama’s America – the First Amendment doesn’t apply to Conservatives!”
How about “American’s Know the Truth about Rush”
Now that the shoe is on the other foot, it’s time to stop partisan attacks? They invented them. I guess they would like the attacks to stop now that they’ve “won”.
I love how the Dems take Rush’s “I hope Obama fails” statement out of context and repeatedly lob it over the wall like grenades. Too bad they’re not exploding for them.
Rush the leader of the Republican Party? I don’t think so. He’s speaking for conservatives, who may or may not be Republican. There is a diffence.
Another suggestion:
Welcome to the “Obama-nation” …
Freedom Loving Americans need not apply
I didn’t read through the earlier comments so I’m sure someone else came up with this, but let’s SWAMP THEM WITH PRO-RUSH SLOGANS!!! They’ll have to go through every single one, so at the very least we’ll annoy them!!! Le’ts DO IT!!!!

Just your Chicago thug politics at work. The better the message, the more urgent it is to shoot the messenger. Chicago didn’t get corrupt by having good ideas, rather it got that way by shutting up the opposition. I wish them lots of luck shutting down Rush. Rush stands for a set of core beliefs while Chicago thugs have none. This is another popcorn moment. Get ready for the entertainment!
This whole thing is a scam. If you try to submit, you get pushed to the donate page. If you don’t donate, you get an error message. This is just sooooo typical of hypocrite dems. Another day, another scam.
LOVED YOUR SLOGAN – DESERT LOVER #88!
Exactly what we need, come together to save America from the leftist, Marxist onslaught.
As mentioned by several Rush is a private citizen. Even if he is a public figger , he is not Lected. I don’t ever remember a presidents staff targeting a civilian, so to speak. Ever.
Just think about the terminal heart failure that would be going on if what Rush say’s had been presented by an elected Representative.
Something I could pray for.
Uh Can these liberal dolts do anything without mining for data and hold their tin cups out for your change.

My slogan nomination “RUSH ON OVER TO THE GUN STORE BEFORE THE PRESIDENT SUCCEEDS.”
I love this so much! Those Democrats are going to get some really great suggestions.
Ha!!! Rush just said that website has been taken down because so many people were submitting pro-Rush Limbaugh slogans. I submitted two myself. That was fun!
i must say, the hypocrisy of the left knows no bounds. leave behind the failed partisan attacks of the past. do you mean like carville, begalla, and emanuelle, plotting this bullcrap attack. rush didn’t say he wants obama to fail. he said he wants obama’s communist agenda to fail. but of course the politics of personal destruction that claimed the vast right wing conspiracy when bill and his buttboys carville and begalla, got caught with his lil friend in the wrong place. trailer trash, yeah. that’s not personal attacks.
Sorry, but the Republicans – especially the leadership – didn’t anoint Rush as the spokeperson for the Republican party, it was the Democrats, starting with Obama himself. The Republican leadership has been at odds with Limbaugh for some time because he keeps bashing them for assuming the bend-over-and-grab-their-ankles position whenever the Dems mention bipartisanship.
He was referring to a previous petition campaign that was taken down and suggested that people go to this billboard one to submit their own suggestions.
It’s still up.
I logged on as “Tom Jefferson” and suggested “I defend your right to say it.” Actually that’s a shortened version of a Voltaire quote, but they’ll never notice. History began in 2001, right?
Or as Louis XIV may put it:
It sure is easy to like a happyscrapper!
TomB–to quote one of my favorite movies…
“like (she’s) going to ‘get’ some obscure philosophical reference…”
–Swingers
Ooops! It is not cool to misinterpret Rush! Don’t tell Him I did that!!
Thanks! Good slogan for the billboard. Be sure to submit it. Oh, and I like dawgs too!!
No worries. I just wanted to clarify so that folks here will still submit their suggestions.
I have to be careful because I listen to Rush while doing other things and sometimes I miss some of his points. He is on for 3 hours, and as much as I would love to devote 3 hours a day to him, I have a life! I do manage to get in quite a bit, however. My poor husband…when I am in the other room, I turn the volume up reeeally LOUD! Rush Limbaugh is a national treasure to be cared for and protected.
YAY!!! Keep leaving pro-Rush slogans!! I’ve linked to it on my blog as well. If any of you have a blog, get this going on yours as well. Someone on mine suggested we leave really confusing slogans as well, like ones that they might not be sure are pro-Rush!!
DO IT!!
My slogan suggestion was this: “We love you, Rush!”
Here’s a couple slogans I thought up for Ms. O’Malley Dillon (wow she combined her maiden/married names- she’s a brave feminist):
Don’t touch Rush!!!
Get over yourselves, Dems!!!
Dems supported failure in Iraq and now they support success for socialism.
Our country’s dying, Dems. Do you care?
Dems have time to invent nonsensical slogans to post in Rush’s “backyard” but they seem to not want to explain how any of their bailouts, economic/foreign policies will succeed. Oh, and dissent is no longer “patriotic” in their eyes. Gee, good use of time there, DNC.

I made my own billboard message.
http://radiopatriot.blogspot.com/2009/03/seeking-truth-justice-american.html
I tried to send a pro Rush comment using a fake e-mail addy. they said it wasn’t an active e-mail. Be careful, they’ll track you, I’m willing to bet.
I tried to send Rush a one way ticket to Austria – he declined he likes the black women in the Dominican Republic.
Remember when he got caught wth a pocket full of blue pills?
And you people like this scumbag.
I submit here:
Does subliminal advertising still work?
Dear Rush, we’re sorry that libs are dumba$$e$ and they are causing you to be filthy rich.
Yummmm, and your point is????
He lives off of negative attention for his “you people” ramblings.
Either that, or he wanted to let us know that he doesn’t like Dominican black women. (Perhaps he’s racist.)
Ohhh, I see his point… back women that ARE FROM the Dominican Republic. I thought Rush likes taking black women TO the Domincan Republic. That’s a big difference.
And whats the big deal about Rush liking Blue Pills? Is that some kind of 8th grade joke like eating Green M&Ms?
Eeeewwww! You really are slimey aren’t you. Yuck. By the way ItookTheRedPills. Shower time.
“Rush is right; America should succeed, Socialism should fail”
You then get sent to a donation page LOL
Then why did Obama and the MSM deny it every time we warned people this is the change he would bring? Obama worked tirelessly to portray himself has a centrist and smeared anyone who said otherwise.
Hey Ilovemycountry I never thought of the woman from the Dominican Republic has “black”. I only thought of them has beautiful, does that mean one of us is a racist?
Seems that every critique of Rush sends a zillion more listeners his way. The Dems have a lot of fish to fry without taking on this giant (oh no pun intended) and had best settle down and focus on the fact they did win the election – now it’s time to perform.
You don’t have to campaign for another two years, but you do have to DO SOMETHING in the next two years or you are so burnt toast.
~Lead, follow, or get out of the way~
Huh? They stand for dirty money, power and abortion…what else do you want?
How about, Honk if you think Obama should man up and debate Rush.
A slogan suggestion that I saw on another message board – “See, I told you so!”
Along side a picture of Rush with a big fat stogie.
Beep Beep.
Of the many suggestions I entered, I like this one the best.
“No, this is not the cigar Bill Clinton used. Monica kept that one.”
I’ve read all #142 comments–as a former registered Democrat (1964-2008) the comments a logical, accurate, and respond to the assumption–>assertion–>proof of Jen’s statement. What I don’t see in the realization that the attack on Rush is to rally the Dem base to the DNC and a whole new file of email addresses. We are dealing with teen-age children with the attention span as long as the life cycle of a fruit fly. As teen-age children, their knowledge extends only to what they and their buds have experienced and know to be true; and it has to feel good. It is a pity the billboard doesn’t have sound–my entry would be a valley girl’s voice saying “whatever!”
Oh my god, What a waste of money. But considering that Dems think they can just print as much as they give away, why would they care.
Think I’ll go try submit something.
“RUSH! A single word that defines a great feeling, A great band, And a great man.”
I smell a photoshop op.
And Auggie Dog, although I agree with you on the band, they’re Canadian…wait…that would totally fit with the DNC mantra (at least in 2004).
Photoshop it is!
