Most Mainers are proud to be called mainahs, it is a badge of honor and respect to the hard-working people born and raised here...LIKE MYSELF.

Maine is primarily white, absolutely. I am quite sure we have more than 2-3 white families. ;)

You say you looked at the picture and saw a lazy thief, among other things. You cannot even see his face, and you have made these broad assumptions? Do you know if he is disabled? Do you know if he is a kid, a teen, an adult? Is he there as a volunteer, someone's ride, one of the cook's sons? You don't know. You have assumed everything about his character by the color of his skinand a few ridiculous notations of his dress. That is racist, and there's your duck. (incidentally, a dear friend of mine's husband is a Raider's fan, he dresses very similarly, but also has a shaved head, multiple tattoos, and is Hispanic, care to prejudge him, as well?)

why don’t you condemn the gansta rap culture who brought you the ebonics of thug thizzle? i’m just following my attorney general’s advice and standing up for what’s right and taking a stand against what’s wrong. enablers are the good folks singing kumbaia, while moving farther into maine or montana. the u.s. taxpayer has spent trillions on aid to the poor since 1966, and every year we get more and more criticized for not doing enough. we spent 175b on katrinaville, or to those math challenged, that’s 175thousand million dollar bills. and to this day we are called racists for not doing enough to help po old new oleans

I can agree with every bit of this part of your quote. Shocking, huh? Fact-based, accurate, disturbingly true.

someone whose closest proxcimity to black america is when she goes to the mall in boston

Pound sand. You don't know any more about me than you do this guy in the picture. Never been to the mall in Boston, actually. Black America, as you call it, is not just the ghettos. It is everywhere. A good example of which sits in the white House tonight. Do you think the Obama's are the only "clean and articulate black folks" out there? Reducing it to something hateful and small to make yourself feel better is your choice, it is not mine. I am not the only one who called your comments racist, many others saw it the same way.

You can rant and rave at me about how you have reasons to feel this way, but some of your reasons cross a line into hate speech. and although Michelle Malkin makes it clear that the opinions expressed here are not her own, posts like yours threaten her reputation like so much collaterol damage. The folks who judge her for posts like yours fail to see that the majority of posters here saw the same thing I saw and rejected it.

Cheapseat, we are not that different. We share a lot of anger and frustration over the class wars that have erupted in this country, and the never-ending handouts that sometimes feel race-based. I can assure you, there are a lot of whites on welfare doing the very same things young black badasses do. But there are a lot of people who do not fit the stereotype, too, white or black. We judge each on his own merits, that is only fair. This one guy in this picture has far too many unknowns to make any kind of responsible call about his character. Judge not, lest you be judged.

mainah, i assume that is a play on the speech patterns of maine residents, and as such i question your ability to call me a racist. does maine have 2 or 3 black families plus several affirmative action college student athletes. i did not invent nor stereotype ghetto ebonics, and i won't enable it by calling whites who make fun of it racists, while allowing black youths to use it in our schools. i looked at the picture and made the following judgements; he's young, black, male, and in a food/homeless shelter. ergo he's lazy and a thief. why, because unless mcdonalds isn't hiring anymore, he's too lazy for a real job, and he is stealing from the people who can't work and need the help. he's wearing all black with a bank robber knit cap and ray ban shades, i suspect that is an oakland raiders sweatshirt, which are common gang colors. maine seems to be full of people who pretend to be republicans but vote consistently democratic (collins and snowe) which seems to me to be the same thing you are saying. why don't you condemn the gansta rap culture who brought you the ebonics of thug thizzle? i'm just following my attorney general's advice and standing up for what's right and taking a stand against what's wrong. enablers are the good folks singing kumbaia, while moving farther into maine or montana. the u.s. taxpayer has spent trillions on aid to the poor since 1966, and every year we get more and more criticized for not doing enough. we spent 175b on katrinaville, or to those math challenged, that's 175thousand million dollar bills. and to this day we are called racists for not doing enough to help po old new oleans. my feeling is that if it quacks like a duck, walks like a duck, and looks like a duck, i'm not going to call it a hippo just to be politically correct so someone whose closest proxcimity to black america is when she goes to the mall in boston. when i was young, no one would tolerate a neighbor's kid misbehaving, today we tolerate them robbing maiming and murdering because we don't want to sound racist if we have to say it was a gang of black youths who robbed the store. we can't all move to lilly white states and ignore the problem.
