“This party atmosphere sends the wrong message”

By Michelle Malkin  •  March 7, 2009 11:27 AM

The Obama cocktail party-and-conga line bonanza is coming under scrutiny:

An organization that serves as a watchdog on the U.S. government for American taxpayers has launched a campaign to uncover exactly how much tax money is being spent on parties at the Obama White House.

The president has shown a penchant for lavish galas, such as the huge assembly orchestrated in Denver when he accepted his party’s nomination for president – an outdoor gathering for some 75,000 featuring a stage with Greek columns. He also held a multimillion-dollar victory celebration in Chicago, and his fancy inauguration cost an estimated $170 million, according to ABC News.

Now, Larry Klayman, founder of Freedom Watch, told WND today he’s seeking information about the partying in the White House since the Obamas moved in…

…Klayman said the reports of the partying at the White House, “with the likes of Steve Wonder and other high priced entertainment stars,” will be the focus of document requests being submitted to the General Services Administration. The requests will seek to determine how much taxpayer money is being used.

“Barack and Michelle Obama have been throwing taxpayer funded parties nearly every night with their ‘friends’ and supporters, with Michelle Obama even exhorting them not to ‘break’ White House property,” Klayman’s announcement said.

“This party atmosphere sends the wrong message to the American people. As the Obama-Clinton crowd party on, the American people are suffering greatly,” Klayman said.

According to the articles I’ve read, he doesn’t drink at these parties at all. Therefore, applying the high standards of journalism displayed during his campaign to this, I would have to say NO. When that 3 AM call comes in, he’ll be passed out dead to the world.

Well, it’s coming under scrutiny by a notably conservative organization which was formed to counter MoveOn.org and which is staffed by a number of Republicans and former Bush Administration supporters.

Not that this matters, but the omission of this sort of information gives the false impression that this is some sort of non-partisan, unbiased investigation, which it certainly is not. It is precisely as relevant as any “investigation” launched and heavily promoted by MoveOn.org seeking to belittle or undermine Conservative positions – which is to say, not at all.

It’s this sort of shoddy reporting – which you yourself so frequently excoriate when it is published by your opponents – that validates claims of a lack of professionalism and journalistic credentials so often leveled against the Right side of the blogosphere.

Lowering yourself to the level of your opposition’s tactics – and below – is not a winning strategy. You need to be better than them – not worse.

Reports like this one are modern-day examples of yellow journalism, every bit as much as the lopsided reporting and analysis conducted by the New York Times and other large media outlets. It’s just as wrong.

What is so revealing about this, and we have been seeing it from many angles, is the complete contempt of the man for the nation, the people, and the office. He really does fit into the style of the typical afro-fascist dictator. He not only is indifferent to the collapsing economy — he relishes it. Just one more excuse to grab power, yes, but much more than that. He wants civil disturbances. Mass unemployment and bankruptcies send tingles somewhere within him. This is a whole different kind of beast from what we have been used to in American politics. Eventually, the bulk of the American people will turn against him, but I think it will be rather too late when they do. I’ve stated that I highly doubt there will be elections in 2012. Now I am beginning to suspect elections in 2010 are equally unlikely.

People who are concerned enough to read about investigations are those who are under no false illusion as to who are sponsoring or conducting the audits. Rational, thinking persons understand that 1) Republicans won’t investigate anyone in their party accused of extravagant partying, and 2) Democrats don’t investigate Democrats, because they feel they are above reproach.

Anyone who believes initiated investigations are non-partisan, regardless of what is said or inferred, is living in a fantasy world. Politics is always partisan.

The differences are that one side is opened minded, seeks the truth to come to a conclusion. The other side starts with a conclusion, then tries to slant facts, or fabricate “truths” to fit their predetermined conclusion. They are not interested in the truth, only the outcome.

The similarities are that both parties don’t start investigations unless they think they can gain politically by exposure.

But my wife’s really the one with good taste. You should see her with her new rhinestone, cat-eye glasses. They look great now that she’s got her hair all big and pretty — she almost has to duck her head to get into the crew-cab. It was funny, though, the other day at Wal-Mart, when she got out of the truck, her hair was caught in the pump of the 12-Gauge. Thank you. I thought I was the only one who saw such displays (referring to both the end-zone and the White House) as puerile and self-indulgent.

The ultimate in cool that I saw was years ago, in the Grey Cup (Canadian football championship). One team (can’t remember who it was: too long ago) was behind by two in the dying seconds of the 4th quarter. Time to call in the field-goal guy. Snap. Kick. The kicker was turned around and had begun walking off the field before the ball had even reached the posts. Straight through the middle for game & championship. As I recall, his only expression was a little smile.

Sadly, today, every cent is gone and he is destitute. Our presidents wild, unbelievable actions sound just like this young, immature boy. Obama depends on everyone around him to take care of the nation’s business while he goes gallavanting around the world doing what he does best, looking pretty and giving emotional speeches. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have a clue how to be a leader.

After the outcry, [over Nancy Reagan ordering china] the White House Historical Association, a private foundation, was created to pay for the Reagans’ china.

When the White House celebrated its 200th birthday, then-first lady Hillary Clinton designed a new $250,000 set, also paid for by the same foundation. The group is also footing the bill for the Bush china.

Normally, only two-term presidents have time to order custom china so former Presidents Nixon, Carter and Bush never got the chance.

Adding to the collection is likely one task the new first family shouldn’t have to face when they entertain.

Of course, if Obama skips on formal state dinners considering the way he stiffed Brown, this china may last a while.

The White House worried that general wear and tear had taken a toll on its fragile China collections and Perino says the Bushes took some time to decide on a new design.

Once again, the usual Liberal apologists appear so they can rationalize as well as justify their false god and his distruction of this nation, it’s standing with it’s allies as well as the destruction of the Office that he holds.

16 years ago we were made to hear of the Sophomoric antics of the Clinton White House and how the staff was acting like a bunch of drunken frat boys and sorority girls. Along came the Bush Administration where such antics were not only discouraged, but the President himself kept all functions to the bare minimum so much so that the media was pissed that they did not get to go to very many, as well as the well documented fact that he hated staying up late and retired every evening as early as 1900 hours.

But along comes Thane and Lady MacBeth, who had been told by three witches that he would destroy their reigning leader and rule from on high.

He brought his Thug Thizzle along with him and thus they party like the rock stars they imagine themselves to be and that the witches told them they were. They laugh at the little people all the while patronizing them.

Our staunchest allies become insulted in ways that could only happen if high schoolers from a continuation school were handling the Protocol Office, and these supposed “intelligent, Smart and Sophisticated” leaders, the Secretary of State included, come across as the biggest laughing stocks the world has ever seen as the leaders of Europe, Asia and elsewhere declare that it is AMatuer Hour in America.

Anyone who could POSSIBLY justify what this imbicilic buffoon is doing only shows that they themselves are no more intelligent or mature then that ones they are defending.

And this in less than two months. There is still more than 45 months left. The thought at what else will happen to this country and yes, even the world in given all that time truly makes me fear for civilization as a whole. The Pimp is in da house and he is keepin his Pimp Hand strong. If you can’t hang, you just be a hater.

Well call me a hater. I couldn’t despise what they are doing and have done to my country any more but I fear they will go out of their way to make sure I do.

If those people can not shut you up they send in the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and all of a sudden two rifles and a shot gun become a “Terrorist Arsenal”.
