Posted this before, but I'll try again:

BACKDOOR AMNESTY

HR 264

Title V Section 501

ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS ON THE BASIS OF EARNED ACCESS TO LEGALIZATION

‘Sec. 245B. (a) In General- The Secretary of Homeland Security may adjust the status of an alien to that of an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence if the alien–

‘(1) was physically present in the United States for a continuous period of not less than 5 years immediately preceding the date on which this provision was enacted and has maintained continuous physical presence since then;

‘(c) Admissible as Immigrant-

‘(1) IN GENERAL- The alien shall establish that the alien is admissible to the United States as immigrant, except as otherwise provided in paragraph (2).
‘(2) EXCEPTIONS- The provisions of paragraphs (5), (6)(A), (6)(B), (6)(C), (6)(F), (6)(G), (7)(A), (9)(B), and (9)(C)(i)(I) of section 212(a) shall not apply in the determination of an alien’s admissibility under this section.

212a6A is illegal entry. 6B, C and so on are fraudulent documents and false claiming of US citizenship.

Basically if they hide out for 5 years, the secretary can adjust illegal aliens to legal residents.

Backdoor amnesty.

There’s more fun stuff in the bill, too, like adjustments of what crimes will keep someone out of the country.

---
Also:

More HR 264:

Section 622 removes mandatory detention for expedited removals. Rather than the illegal alien going to jail, many classes of aliens (those with family, etc. - plus a catch all of “(G) Other groups designated in regulations promulgated by the Secretary.”

What that means in practice is that when someone is given an expedited removal - a deportation - instead of being held in jail until their final hearing by a judge, they’re given “walking papers”. This is what used to happen for non-Mexican illegal aliens. They’d be given their papers and be told to show up at court to be determined ineligible and deported.

Instead, they took the walking papers and took off. Section 622 makes it so they can all do that!

And all they have to do is hide out for 5 years and they can be adjusted to residents or citizens.

---
http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h111-264

According to govtrack, it’s been sent to committee.

We’re only about two short steps away from backdoor AMNESTY.

Speakup,

First and foremost, I am an American (third generation - can't even speak fluent Spanish). Your analysis of the problems in Mexico are correct and I do not harbor many disagreements. Perhaps I was unclear in that the only problem with America in her relations with the Mexican worker is through our confusing government policies and their enforcement (or lack thereof). Many of our businesses created a magnet to draw them here. Rather than staying to fight the good fight against their own government, they opted to head north. Like many, the path of least resistance was taken.

I also believe if we had a firm commitment to enforcing our laws, we would not have this discussion at all.

As for the Mexican culture being all about the bribe, I suggest you look at the history of New Orleans. If not for the greed of the leaders there, Houston would not be our petrochemical capital. Greed transcends racial and nationalistic "cultures". Our Congress is a fine example of corruption and bribery, except they are more sophisticated and are better at covering it up.

Having said that, I will agree that Mexico has taken it to a highly visual artform. It is this aspect that retards the growth of many other countries (Philippines, Panama) to name a few.

I am an American of Mexican descent. I am infuriated by the treatment of decent people who just want what is best for their families. My country is aiding and abetting the suppression of the majority of Mexican citizens and its natural progression towards first world status. The blame is multi-fold but we refuse to look at all aspects and complexities of the problem.

Were it not for the mafia rich entitled class and a state riddled with corruption from every village patron to Presidente Calderon , NAFTA would have solved Mexico poverty in spades but the American companies who tried to build there finally gave up working the bribe to do anything system and went to China.

NAFTA was an opportunity for Mexicans squandered by their great culture.

There but for some antitrust laws goes Mexico and there but for the individual morals and strength to fight tyranny goes Mexicans.

Instead of making the sacrifice necessary to fix their own country millions came here to take advantage of our soft society and now threaten domination and the institution of the same failed state, patron and peon society as in Mexico but with different actors.

If anybody that feels like can just move in, make babies and stay, why should they care about our traditions, obey our laws and why should they not hate us for being so soft as to not stand up and fight for our own nation?
