Culture of corruption alert
Nothing to see here. Move along:
The West Virginia High Tech Consortium has provided more than $75,000 in free rent and administrative services to the Robert H. Mollohan Family Charitable Foundation, according to tax records, while receiving millions of dollars worth of earmarks from Rep. Alan Mollohan (D-W. Va.), who serves as the family foundation’s secretary.
The West Virginia High Technology Consortium Foundation is a nonprofit organization that Mollohan helped establish in the 1990s to bring high-tech jobs and training to his district in northern West Virginia. Mollohan has provided the WVHTC with millions of dollars of earmarks from his seat on the House Appropriations Committee. According to documents from an ongoing court case, Mollohan has been intimately involved in some of the organization’s major management decisions.
The Robert H. Mollohan foundation is a charity the family created in 2000 that provides small grants and internship opportunities to local students. It operates out of a building bearing Alan Mollohan’s name that is run by the WVHTC.
Neither Mollohan’s office nor the WVHTC responded to repeated requests from Roll Call for comments on this story.
According to the WVHTC tax records for 2006, the organization made two “non-cash grants” in 2005, both to the Robert H. Mollohan Family Charitable Foundation. One grant provided $41,670 worth of “administrative services,” the other was $34,562 worth of office space. Both gifts are reported as having been made in September 2005.
Last year, the Mollohan family foundation indicated in its tax return that it “conducts scholarships and educational programs previously operated by the West Virginia High Technology Consortium Foundation … in exchange for which the Mollohan Foundation receives a contribution of in-kind space and administrative support from the WVHTC Foundation.” This explanation did not appear in the foundation’s previous tax returns.
In October 2005, the WVHTC issued a press release announcing that its pilot project to use technology to help locate missing children “will be expanded across West Virginia with a $986,643 federal grant obtained by Congressman Alan B. Mollohan.” The release went on to explain that Mollohan “placed the funding in the U.S. Justice Department 2005 budget … a follow-up to the nearly $500,000 he earmarked in 2004 to launch the program.”
Over the years, Mollohan has provided millions of dollars in earmarks for the WVHTC, and though he lists no position with the group on his annual financial disclosure forms, he appears to have been closely involved in the operations of that group and others that he provides with earmarks.

Which cabinet position will he be offered?
Seems to be a bad link Michelle.
Hmmm strong candidate for sec. of education.
Will this be discussed in the daily left-wing conspiracy conference call?
Definitely time to invest in tar, feathers and rope.
OT
Obama and Holder target law enforcement for enforcing the law…
Officials from the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division notified Sheriff Joe Arpaio on Tuesday that they had begun the investigation, which will focus on whether deputies are engaging in “patterns or practices of discriminatory police practices and unconstitutional searches and seizures.”
Why do you hate the children, Michelle?

It’s not his fault. He’s just tired of seeing every other building, road, and fencepost named after Bobbie Byrd.
This is why none of these guys will ever come out strongly against other Corruptocrats or Corrupticans, because so many have so much to hide.
As far as what P-BO cabinet secretary position he should get-I don’t know about education, I think this guy should be the drug czar, even though it was bumped down from cabinet secretary.
Compared to some of the others, this one’s kind of mild.
Fear not: one more conservative constitutionalist justice on the Supreme Court needs to turn and the eligibility case will get a hearing.

It will put an end to this sham. i dont care if Biden is President. It will mean the end of lil bHo’s incompetence.
and his “legislation”.
Bear1909 out.
PS: If anyone needs to call this tin foil “birther” talk, then so be it. But the facts are the facts. So let’s get em out on the table, whether anyone thinks it is beneath their dignity or not. End the controversy with a little bit of truth. It will be worth it.
Odopey wasn’t “born” he was “hatched” by a muppet.
Hey, AJ. I like the Muppets!!!!
Well, just where else would you find criminals conveniently congregated for easy arrest?? Since the factual statistics ARE that over 35% of the criminals in AZ jails are hispanic–why would Sheriff Joe go to the Scottsdale Nordstroms mall for a sweep?? Gov Nappy fought him about this for hispanic votes and the press only. Nothing’s changed.
Does he sound scared???
I think with Sheriff Joe being the target of MALDEF and La Raza, Holder and the DoJ and Napolitano, odds are good that he winds up like Agents Ramos and Compeon, with no chance for a pardon/commutation before 2013, at the earliest.
Duh.
WV IS John Murthas neighbor too. So between Byrd and Murtha, what kind of role model did this clown have?
Lock him up and let him learn what a pork roll really is…..

Hey, everyone is related to each other out there, mostly first cousins. They’re just keeping it all in the family.
WVHTC? I lived in West By God Virginia for 10 years. It’s a dump. Not long ago & may still be true, Ohio County (Wheeling) has the oldest population in the country. The local economy stinks on ice, so the biggest growth industry is malpractice complaints. While it isn’t exactly a “Deliverence” type of place, have no doubt the locals, especially in the middle & southern part of the state, do not like outsiders. I’m not saying people there are close-minded & just a few decades short of any recent century, but according to a former college room mate from way up the holler, where he lived it was still not unusual for a guy to give his fiance his Klan ring when they got engaged. And yes, many of those counties are still fighting the Civil War.
There isn’t enough rope in this country to get rid of all these crooked politicians!
Never going to be anything else with the Democrats trying to shut down the coal industry. That, country music, and Klansmen are all they’ve ever produced. Well, outside of a couple of my cousins.
From the Office of the Speaker of the House:
It has been brought to the Speaker’s attention that a member of the House may be involved in unethical behavior. The Speaker takes these allegations very seriously and renews her promise to make this the most ethical Congress in American history. However, the House is unable to focus on more than one issue at a time*; therefore any questions about Mr. Mollohan’s dealings will have to wait until the House has finished investigating former President Bush and any other Republican who’s ever done anything.
* I’m pretty sure the Constitution says this.
Not really off topic, but one of my guys sent me this link:

I think everyone needs to see it and rally around the premise.
WV politicians could give lessons in pork and corruption. I was born there, grew up there and graduated from WVU. That was a long time ago; back when another Mollohan was the congress critter from the same district. It is another beautiful place ruined by Democrat politicians.
this guy was doing this pay for play stuff since his election. no ethics probe, after all he’s a democrat, ergo they can’t be racists and they can’t be crooks. even if they cheat on their wife and their taxes, it was just a mistake. i used turbo tax, and honey, i don’t know how my #$%^ got into her. nancy is too busy lining up her g5 transport to notice the insignificant little stuff.
Anyone surprised? Corruption by a democrap, tell me no.
MTNEER in #23. Yes, it is a beautiful place, & I always enjoyed being in the mountains, camping, or rafting. Some pretty good skiing in the winter, too, for those who are insane enough to strap lumber to their extremities & launch themselves down a slope. I went alone to a lot of nasty places, though. Of course, I was in the baby snatching biz then, so no parent really welcomes Da Welfare Man coming to haul their children off, even if it is to a somewhat safer, warmer, fed & clothed environment.
