L.A. Times: We don’t cover citizen rallies…unless we agree with them

By Michelle Malkin  •  March 11, 2009 12:13 PM

The Los Angeles Times ignored the thousands of people who gathered in Fullerton CA on Saturday for a massive tax revolt that was just one of several demonstrations over the weekend.

Why did the newspaper look the other way?

Because they don’t cover citizen rallies…unless they agree with them.

If the tax revolters were illegal aliens and KFI’s John and Ken were Latino radio hosts demanding amnesty, the Fullerton protest would have been front-page news.

Arpaio, who was easily re-elected to a fifth term in November, called the investigation politically motivated and vowed to continue to arrest illegal immigrants.

“I am not going to be intimidated by the politics and by the Justice Department,” Arpaio said. “I want the people of Arizona to know this: I will continue to enforce all the immigration laws.”

Arpaio uses the sweeps to enforce the state’s employer-sanctions and anti-smuggling laws. He also participates in a federal program that lets local officers enforce federal immigration laws. The sweeps have taken place in mostly Latino neighborhoods or near where day laborers congregate. They have sparked two racial-profiling lawsuits.

The Justice Department frequently receives racial-profiling complaints against police departments, but investigations are rare, said David Harris, a University of Pittsburgh law professor and racial-profiling expert.

Why do you think CNN had an agreement with Saddam to cover only his approved events.

This is so pathtic! As alluded to several times in this blog, I am convinced these Politically correct so called news organizations are loosing their ass , not because of the internet, but because their agenda is sooo transparent.

And balanced reporting would entice me to buy the daily paper the next day. Here’s a hint guys, you need to sell papers in order to make a profit, which is the reason you are in business. You no longer have a captive audience. And you will never sell enough papers as long as you print liberal PC hogwash. What a concept, provide what the consumer wants.

I think “John and Ken” should have a little fun with the LA Times — start promoting liberal protests (unions, illegal aliens, etc.) on their show, and then show up and do live on-air remotes from those liberal protests. Obviously, by their own standards, the LA Times can’t cover those events, because “John and Ken” used them to promote their radio show. If the LA Times does cover those events, have “John and Ken” bust them on the air.

Racial profiling … another victimization boondoggle! I was a NYC cop for 25 years. I once stopped a guy for making an illegal turn througha red light – nearly causing a 4 or 5 car collision. I chased him through another 3 red lights before stopping him. I arrested him and in court his attorney said I only stopped him because he was “DWB” (Driving While Black). Too bad I had pictures of his car, with dark tinted windows that prevented anyone from seeing into the car at all. After the judge saw that … GUILTY – 30 days, $500 fine, license revoked for 6 months.

The big quetion is, will they cover the rallies of people that begin to demand that Der Fuhrer and the entire Democrat Party step down and allow a new election to take place?

I can’t help but think if things continue the way they have been, that such demonstrations are not all that far away.

And as for their guesstimates as to the size of rallies, remember, the “Million Man March” was stated to be over a million people, yet actual numbers were hundreds of thousands less, all the “peace rallies” supposedly always had hundreds of thousands of people in attendance yet looking at the pictures they actually had much, much less…

And then there are the Islamic Happy-Time Fun, Fun rallies which they claim have thousands in attendance…but actually have a few dozen helped by clever photography…

but the greatest example of how Liberal news outlets like to pump up the numbers of people who attend rallies for causes the outlets agree with would have to be this one of Cindy Sheehan. Remember when the original picture was shown? It was shown as a way to show how many people were in attendance, how all these anti-war, anti-Bush moonbats were all there, supporting Cindy’s cause etc., etc., etc., and even came complete with a very dour looking Jesse Jackson, but when you saw the actual picture, from a camera that took a picture some ways back, you saw that all these supposed well-wishers and supporters were nothing more than photographers, reporters and other assorted gutter-trash.

Yeah…they just love being non-biased and reporting only the truth, don’t they?
