Lamest billboard ever

By Michelle Malkin  •  March 12, 2009 10:09 AM

(Thanks to Don Surber for sending photo)

I said last week that Democrat donors ought to question whether the DNC was using its money wisely by indugling in an anti-Rush Limbaugh billboard.

See, I told you so. The Christian Science Monitor skewers the results:

New Limbaugh billboard slogan announced – creativity was not considered

Setting a world record today for beating a dead horse, the Democratic National Committee will announce they’ve selected an anti-Rush Limbaugh slogan to be placed on a billboard in the radio host’s hometown.

The DNC began soliciting slogans a week ago in response to Limbaugh’s well-known statement that he wants President Obama to fail.

“If you’re anything like me, then you’ve had the urge to talk back to a right-wing talk radio host more than a few times. Now you can,” reads an email blast from the executive director of the DNC. “Can you help us come up with a message for Rush that we’ll place on a billboard right in his hometown?”

The envelope please

That message has apparently been decided. CNN is reporting that the billboard will say, “Americans didn’t vote for a Rush to failure.”

Apparently, more than 80,000 slogans were emailed in and astonishingly all were somehow deemed worse than that one.

FAIL.

You can talk back to any right-wing radio host that I listen to. They all have an “800″ number to call. Rush will even put liberals to the front of the queue.

But a billboard is much better because then a liberal doesn’t have to engage in a common sense discussion based on facts.

If I wasn’t already familiar with the brouha and happened to drive by the billboard, I’d think Rush put it up as a slam on Obama. Makes me wonder if a conservative submitted it as a joke and the Dems are too stupid to realize it.

It just absolutely must be one of the most ridiculous and stupid wastes of time any one political group has ever partaken is.

Why would they think it was such a good idea, so politically wise to spend such a large amount of money and time on a campaign to convince people who have never listened to Rush, let alone would never listen to him, to stop listening to him?

Why would they do the same thing in order to try and convince his loyal fans and supporters to stop listening and supporting him?

This has to be one of the biggest acts of futility in the history of American politics.

And in the end, it will change absolutely nothing, and will lead to a bunch of bigoted, hate-filled moronic Liberals slapping themselves on the back in some sort of enormous self-love ceremony, congratulating themselves for a job well done against the Great Conservative Satan, and Rush will still be the richest, most famous, most listened to radio personality in history.

No, they completely ripped off their little slogan from Rush’s live appearances of about two years ago that he called “Rush to Excellence”.

So, in a typical Liberal attempt at humor, the switched it to “Rush to Failure”.

Now, that said, I must say that I completely agree with what the statement says. I honestly believe that the people in this country did not purposely voe for a “Rush to Failure”.

However, Obama has made sure that everything he has been doing is being “rushed” though constantly.

He rushed Porkulous through so fast that no one had time to read any of it, he rushed to sign it claiming that the whole country was going to collapse at any moment if it did not get done, rushed off to Chicago for dinner on Valentine’s Day, rushed from one massive amount of tax payer dollars into the next and then rushed from that one into the one he just signed for over $400 billion…

He has been rushing towards failure since the minute the Election results were final, and will continue to rush his Socialist/Marxist reforms/take-over until either the people of this nation finally put their collective foot down and throw him out, or this nation is irreparably destroyed to the point that it resembles Checheslovakia cir. 1982.

So no, I do not believe Americans voted specifically for a “Rush to Failure”, but seeing as how the MSM hid who and what Obama really is and what he had/has planned for this nation, as well as turning blind eyes and ears to those of us who did all we could to warn them, electing Obama as President is exactly what they got…a Rush to Failure.

Don’t be stupid, Joy. First of all, this is not the government. This is a political party. And second, you are trying to argue that the specific technique the respective parties used to attack the private citizen makes that much difference? Please. The RNC has attacked Soros. When did Bush order an attack on Soros and send out his chief of staff to get the ball rolling? When did Bush or the RNC take Soros’ words out of context for political gain? GOPers writing about Soros’ activities in memos and pointing it out on the party’s website, is not the same as the Dem leadership anointing Limbaugh as the leader/face of the GOP, or attacking him with a billboard in his neighborhood. This is gutter politics of the lowest kind. Our system makes “we the people” share in the power of “the government.” You donated to Obama’s campaign.
