Speaking of outrageous bonuses for incompetent performance…

By Michelle Malkin  •  March 16, 2009 01:10 PM

How nauseating to hear the growing chorus of lawmakers on Capitol Hill inveighing about the AIG bonuses and the rewarding of incompetence.

Spare me, Barney Frank:

“These people may have a right to their bonuses, they don’t have a right to their jobs forever,” Mr. Frank said, charging that the bonuses amounted to rewards for incompetence. And he added: “These bonuses are going to people who screwed this up enormously.”

This, after the Senate refused to give up automatic pay increases for themselves and Nancy Pelosi refused to give the measure a hearing.

Congress sez: Incompetence bonuses for me, but not for AIG.

Spare me.

The whole so-called stimulus and the mortgage bailout together are one giant reward paid to those who screwed up.

I am utterly amazed at the shortsightedness and hypocrisy of these morons. They are either incredibly stupid, or know what they are doing and using it to secure their positions and power.

If so, this is pure and unadulterated evil.

Well Massachusetts Rep. Barny Frank, you certainly have surpassed all benchmarks of incompetence you set previously.
In your hurry to pass your culpability in the Fannie , Freddie, debacle back to the Bush administration and smoke the sky you forgot to write anything about limits. So now Treasury has complete control. You gave it. Quit pointing your finger at everyone else and man up. Uh , or something like that.

Folks, Barney Frank’s comments are proof-positive to me that they have completely lost track of what they’re doing in DC and how they got there. Furthermore, they obviously think we’re stupid.

I can only shake my head. And then it’s topped off with:

“The state expects to spend $595 million more on its health insurance programs this year than in 2006, a 42 percent increase.”

    Nice.

“These people may have a right to their bonuses, they don’t have a right to their jobs forever,”

Out of touch, much, Barnacle Frankenfurter? Wasn’t it your crowd that was recently talking about the Pork in the Budget being such a small amount of the over all total? Well, what percentage of $178 Billion, is the $165 Million in bonuses? Yet, you’re all up in the a$$ about the AIG bonuses, but public outcry over the amount of earmarking in the budget is misplaced anger?

Didn’t your butt-buddy, Schumer tell us we should ignore the “small stuff,” and the inconsequential? So, when is doling out $168,000,000 in bonuses any different than doling out the same amount in taxpayer money to the F.O.D.‘s?

Franks has the audacity to proclaim “accountability for thee, but not for me!” Of course he can’t be voted out, because to do so would be anti-gay, right?

Let’s not forget that the majority of so-called “elected” representatives are taking bribes from lobbyists, PACs, and a myriad of special interest groups. Tom Daschle was a two-bit lawyer from South Dakota, but when he left Congress some years later (felt like a hundred years to me), he was a millionaire. How does that happen when they make approximately $165K a year? Remember, next time–NO INCUMBENTS!
