As a simple programer and reservist I have functions I am required to attend as well. If I could I would blow them off but I really can’t. A head of state has greater calls on his time than I do.

It does speak to a larger issue, and that is that Obama shows little loyalty to those who have given him the undeserved opportunity to rise, and the fact that he is even considering tinkering with injured veterans is an absolute disgrace. He can give our money away to AIG, but don’t f*&^ with our veterans and their care. And, yes, I’d say the same thing about Republicans, the so-called “conservatives”. Our war veterans are the foundation of this great country, allowed it to prosper, and are the only reason we survive today. They deserve bonuses, not AIG.

Anyone else notice that the green tie Obama wore today in Ireland is the wrong shade of green? The only acceptable green on St. Pat’s Day is Kelly green. Celadon only counts as green in the Castro District of San Francisco.

Yes, please can we focus on the real issues? Mainly, what’s going on with Michelle Obama’s biceps and Sarah Palin’s kid’s baby’s daddy and what Sasha and Malia are playing on today?

Exactly right, I’ll be getting to that as soon as I’ve watched my TIVO’d “Dancing with the Stars” and “American Idol” : )

I hope you are not calling the Medal of Honor Recipiants Ball attendees silly or self important. But you must be otherwise your comment is totally irrelevant and stupid. Oh wait…that is a better explaination.

Has anyone actually seen him look into the camera for even a second? He’s always shifting between teleprompters. Even Bill Clinton looked straight at the camera long enough to wag his finger at us.

I don’t mean to pile on guys, but, I also have a prior engagement and will not be able to attend. I have a proctology exam that day. Ooh! That reminds me (writes in notepad), pick up a long stemmed rose after work.

Why would you want a man like Obama in that room filled with men who understand true honor, real sacrifice and love of country?

I hope he never attends it. He does not merit being there.

So the media groupies who threw their panties at the Rock Star are miffed that he doesn’t want to hang out with them?

When I pass by a Victoria’s Secret store, and see the display window posters of semi-clad women with expressions on their faces like they just heard a guy say: “That’s right, I did just use you for sex … what about it?” — I envision the media groupies with the same expressions on their faces when the Dear Leader didn’t show.

Such unrequited love couldn’t happen to a more deserving bunch.

It’s time for the media love affair with Obummer to end. Perhaps, they can go back to actually reporting the news instead of editorializing it.

Little known and/or widely ignored facts:

    1) All Medal of Honors recipients were also invited to the CiC Ball.

    2) Biden attended the Medal of Honors Ball.

    3) Apparently the American Legion is a lot less whiny than the press corps:

From The American Legion’s point of view, the new President’s absence was understandable considering the unprecedented logistical challenges presented by the vastly increased number of visitors to this inauguration and the necessary attendant security measures. The National Adjutant of The American Legion states that, as an organization, The Legion does not feel offended or “snubbed” by the President’s failure to appear.

We extended an invitation as we always do. There are numerous Balls and we know he can’t attend them all. Of course, we would have loved for him to make an appearance, but he didn’t. It’s a logistical nightmare. He did meet with the troops at the Commander In Chief’s Ball, and we are grateful for that. Our Ball wasn’t about the President; it was about the Medal of Honor recipients and the veterans and families who were there. We are grateful that the Vice President appeared, and our guests were very appreciative.
