Obama flees to Leno. Next stop: Dance Party II with DeGeneres?

By Michelle Malkin  •  March 18, 2009 06:11 AM

When in panic mode, return to the campaign trail. Take to the comedy and cable shows. Relive the glory. This is the White House m.o.

Recall that when the porkulus bill was in danger, President Obama hosted a revival meeting in Florida and held a rally in Indiana.

Now, in the face of the AIG debacle — compounded by bipartisan revolts over his VA plan to bill private insurers for injured troops’ care, increasing dissent over Card Check, and mounting Democrat doubts over his $410 billion spending bill — Obama is flying to Hollywood to hold hands and yuk it up with Jay Leno on Thursday.

What’s next? A pity party with the women of The View? A return trip to Ellen DeGeneres for Dance Party II?

Way to go, Barry: Boogie while the Beltway burns.

Be reasonable, Michelle. After all, Barry gets bored just hanging around the White House, and he can’t be expected to host a shindig there every night. After the “shocking” news of the AIG bonuses being sprung on him so “unexpectedly”, a night of madcap reparte´ with Jay will help ease his mind. Don’t you remember that he’s “tired”? He’s been inheriting disasters left and right since Day One.

At least we’re not getting too many comments from the leftists around here, which makes me suspect their support for the modern day Emperor Nero is waning.

Michelle, you’ve hit the nail on the proverbial head about Obama going back into “campaign mode.” I was just telling someone this a.m. that he’ll get cheers from the audience, the very fact of his appearance will get those clips of cheering throngs played over and over on the late night news and early morning shows, and we’ll be reminded what a glowing personality he is to excite crowds so. Enough!

As I’ve said since the stimulus bill rallies in Ft Meyers, Elkhart and the Caterpillar plant, these ersatz campaign stops make it seem an awful lot like the guy who was so quick to remind GOP congressional leadership that “[he] won” is still petitioning for the job.

I think that this post is particularly insightful. Any time Obama runs into trouble, he goes on the road to a major venue. It started (maybe) about a year ago with the Wright clips and the race speech, and he goes back to the formula over and over again.

On analogy to that saying, “When the going gets tough, the tough get going,” I’d say that for Obama, “When the going gets tough, Obama goes campaigning.”

I need a leader, not a TV personality.

Obama In St Patrick’s Day Teleprompt Blunder
    12:26pm UK, Wednesday March 18, 2009

A teleprompt blunder has led to Barack Obama thanking himself in a speech at the White House in a St Patrick’s Day celebration.

Obama and the Irish PM share the joke during their joint address

Irish Prime Minister Brian Cowen was just a few paragraphs into an address in Washington when he realised it all sounded a bit too familiar.

It was. He was repeating the speech President Barack Obama had just read from the same teleprompter.

Mr Cowen stopped, turned to the president and said: “That’s your speech.”

A laughing Mr Obama returned to the podium to take over but it seems the script had finally been switched and the US president ended up thanking himself for inviting everyone to the party.

Mr Obama is an accomplished orator but is becoming known in America as the “teleprompt president” over his reliance on the machine when he gives a speech.

What a dope… One World Socialists fiddling while the world burns, but hey, it’s all good.

This is completely out of some Clancy book. Only difference is that it would not have been the American President who was fumbling about in such a manner.

To think that in only two months, an American President would be in such a panic about losing the faith and belief of then entire nation; an American President could have done so many things wrong and purposely destroyed so much of what made this country what it has been and meant to so many others.

This is what it is. This is Obama in Panic Mode. I hate to keep harkening back to it, but if you know the play “MacBeth”, you would see the parallels so blatant that you would wonder if this was nothing more than an obscure London Shakespeare Company production, using modern times and non-traditional casting.

Thane MacBeth also panicked . The results of which, when he began to lose control of his reign, was both bloody and destructive as well.

As for him charging the veterans for their medical treatment, I would like to remind everyone all about what the Liberals and Democrats loved to say about Bush and his treatment of Vets. It is as if they decided to elect a man who could be everything they wrongly accused President Bush of doing and being…and exaggerating it 10 fold. God help us all.
