An ACORN fund-raiser on the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals?
I’m kidding, right?
And a GOP Senator approves of this?
I’m kidding, right?

Reason 99,999,999,999,999,999,876,456 why I am not a Republican…
I wish I could say I am suprised.
I guess we won’t have to worry about voter rights in that district anymore.
That sound you hear is the Rule Of Law being torn asunder!
Now where did I hide that nut….?
Lugar has had a flat-lined EEG for years. No intelligent life there.
Talking to Lugar is like talking to a head of cabbage.
I see the ACORN internet Brownshirts are earnestly spamming that blog. Insisting that ACORN are as innocent as lambs.
ACORN must be stopped from doing the census and registering fictitous people to vote if we have any hope of retaining our Republic. Obama intends to use foreign nationals to “change” the U.S. into a third world country.
No, I dont have Woody Harrelson’s dads phone number laying around somewhere. And I object to the insinuation that I know anyone that ever did.
No expertise or experience? Just like the President.
ACLU Lawyers are bad enough but an ACLU Judge is totally unacceptable …
there you go Fly insulting cabbage heads!!! what’s next? tomatoes?
YOu can take the boy out of Chicago, but you’ll never take Chicago out of the boy.
Let’s see…..the conservative equivilent……a judge nominated who raised money for the Boy Scouts.
The left and MSM would be going nuts that a judicial appointee raised money for a group that promotes belief in God and excludes homosexuals.
This probably won’t be a blip on the radar of news reporting.
Just when you think it can’t get any worse!
Simply Amazing. And people still wonder how Germany was suckered in the thirties?
Minds may differ over this nomination but fifteen years on the federal trial bench, including tenure as chief judge for the district, is generally considered sufficient experience for consideration for the Court of Appeals. The following is from his biography as appears on the District court’s official website:
“Judge Hamilton was appointed United States District Judge for the Southern District of Indiana in 1994. Judge Hamilton previously was a partner at Barnes & Thornburg, a private law firm in Indianapolis. He served as Counsel to the Governor of Indiana from 1989 to 1991 and from 1984 to 1989 was an associate at Barnes & Thornburg.
Judge Hamilton grew up in Southern Indiana. He graduated from Haverford College in 1979 and Yale Law school in 1983. He also performed graduate work as a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Tuebingen in Germany. He served as law clerk to Judge Richard D. Cudahy on the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in Chicago and then returned to Indianapolis to practice law. He is a founding member of the Sagamore Inn of Court in the American Inns of Court. He served as a member of the Indiana State Recount Commission from 1986 to 1987 and as chairman of the Indiana State Ethics Commission from 1991 to 1994.”
Let the criticism and comment be directed towards his record.
Ahhhh…this just certifies that I am just a bitter, gun loving, right wing extremist, bigotted, insensitive, conservative, white, male, chauvanistic, hate-filled, Christian, homophobe.
I apologize to all cabbages everywhere, regardless of color and size.
Speaking of tomatoes, a fellow I once worked with posted this question on a message board, “How’s your old tomato?” Some of the responses he got were beyond hyserical.
Let Michelle set the parameters for debate on her own website, troll. His background, to include his “official” record, is in play, as it always is for Republicans/conservatives. Bet you were all over Huffpost and Koz a few months ago demanding that any discussion of Palin be confined to her record as governor. Not.
Oh great, a Clinton affirmative actions appointee. Where was the Oh So Morally Offended press when Clinton canned over 100 judges just to get his buddies jobs?
Republicans should do everything they can to block this guy. The democrats torpedoed Bush’s picks every chance they got. Time to return the favor if it’s possible. The only good news is he’s not a SCOTUS pick. Not yet anyway.
But this should serve as a warning to conservatives for who Obama will be picking when it’s time.
And Obama calls this guy a moderate and does so with a straight face. Amazing.
Judges, too? I thought that was just the US Attorneys.
He worked for ACORN for a month as his first job out of college. This does not make him an eternal acornazi.
Yes it does. BTW, what did you think of that idea about a 90% income tax on math teachers?
What Republican party? I thought they went extinct in 2008 like all parties do when registrations decline during a presidential election. It’s just like TV shows getting canceled when they get trashed during “sweeps”.
Lugar must a Republican version of a Trekkie. Just can’t move on with his life.
If a conservative appointee walked by an abortion clinic it would be classified as a “pro-life” protest by the MSM, so what’s your point?
My fiance went to school at Haverford with Hamilton. Said he’s blond haired, blue eyed, squeeked when he walked. Expects him to be okay. May be liberal but an okay guy. (ACORN was probably a side-trip to see how “the other side” manages or an extra credit project.)
Time will tell.
BTW: Hamilton was rated ” Unqualified ” by the ABA when nominated to the Federal bench.
Why would anyone be surprised? This goes straight to that Chicago radio interview some years back. Barry believes the courts should not be engaged in legal justice, but in economic justice. And here we go.
Well, If the ABA is against him, he must be okay………

Not really Flyoverman. There is always a remote chance that the cabbage head might respond…zero chance with Lugar.
Not cabbage, more like Arugula…
“Working for” and fundraising is not the same–so please give a link to his whole connection to the group.
What about Hamilton’s ruling against legislative prayers given in the name of Jesus Christ, but not Allah?
Why did the ABA rate him “not qualified” when Clinton nominated him to the district court in 1994?
Research these three things and get back to me later. Thanks.
Lugar is spineless. Unfortunately, he “represents” me. I have been trying to get rid of him every chance I get.
What does Michael Steele have to say? If he doesn’t respond, but Rush Limbaugh does, then I’ll have another reason to be sorry I support him for Republican chair.
He worked as a canvasser for 1 month following college – 30 years ago!
Seriously, this is why people are outraged?
