HERE WE GO! At the recent ICCC convention, Dr. Lindzen helped in a big way to sharpen the wooden stake to drive into the teenie weenie evil 'heart' of the AGW SCAM. He has scientific evidence that the eco-nitwit's claim of 'positive feedback', (al gore's/hansen's 'tipping point' BS), was pulled out of their ****.

The Bottom Line

The earth’s climate (in contrast to the climate in current climate GCMs) is dominated by a strong net negative feedback. Climate sensitivity is on the order of 0.3°C, and such warming as may arise from increasing greenhouse gases will be indistinguishable from the fluctuations in climate that occur naturally from processes internal to the climate system itself.

We turned on every light, fan, and electronic component in our house, plus turned on the self cleaning oven. If we had turned off what we usually have on during that time. we would have saved between 1-2 cents. What a bunch of hippie baloney.

You showed them! Even better, how about keeping it up everyday and really show them? Double--triple--quadruple your electricity bill and REALLY show them.

I'm also stocking up in incandescents, especially 40W appliance bulbs.
(Can't use a CFL in the Lava Lamp:)

BTW, my Wal Mart now has 52W instead of 60W, and 32W instead of 40W in the standard bulbs. (Specialty [read: expensive] bulbs still have the normal wattage.)

So they're trying to save me energy, but giving me less light. I had been using 40W, but now I would have to use the 52W.
(I did find normal wattage bulbs at Home Depot. I bought a bunch.)

Earth Hour, quite simply, is a scam. People are duped into thinking they can make a difference by turning off the lights for an hour and then quickly turning them back on (something which wastes energy, by the way). If people truly cared about the environment, they would calmly offer solutions to what others can do everyday instead of telling people to turn off their lights and appliances like doofuses for one hour a year. Sure, people get angry when you counter the false logic of this Earth Hour (and boy, did someone get mad at me on my blog!) but really common sense is what people should be aiming for.

Ironically, I was out to dinner at a well-lit restaurant during this time and I left my kitchen light on.

The funny thing is, I am normally very conservative with utilities, for frugality and wanting my children to have resources left in their lifetime, not for global warming.

That there were stories about the dangers of fluorescent light, the flickering of the bulbs in office buildings where people work under them 10-14 hours a day was causing headaches.

Late to the game here, but I know at least two people who had to work with sunglasses on because the fluourescent light caused severe headaches and other medical problems.

But what is human suffering when <strike>global warming</strike> - sorry, global climate change - is "settled science"?

The worldwide left have must have the collective IQ of a retarded opossum. How turning off lights for a whole hour will effect anything whatsoever is so beyond moronic, it gives morons a bad rap. BTW, here in Lansing, MI, it is currently snowing. DAMN that global warming!!!

That there were stories about the dangers of fluorescent light, the flickering of the bulbs in office buildings where people work under them 10-14 hours a day was causing headaches.

They give me migraines. I have to take incandescents on trips to screw into the hotel sockets so I don't spend most of my time in the dark with a wet washrag over my face.

I spent yesterday trapped in a school building basking in the big Fluos only to turn around and enjoy the same thing this morning in church. I finally had to come home and cozy up to an incandescent, but it's too late. I'm going to have to take a painkiller and look for the sunglasses and the cold rag soon.

I buy extra incandescents every month. My husband thinks I'm crazy, but the fluorescents don't bother him (except the part where he gets to listen to me gripe endlessly about yet another government intrusion into our lives.)

I just want to know where Al's hiding my special dispensation to keep on using what doesn't take a HazMat crew to dispose of . . . or did he save it for his power-sucking mansion?

OOOPS it seems as if Goracle forgot to turn his lights off last night!

By Kleinheider

Posted on March 29, 2009 at 12:00 pm
Even during Earth Hour. President of the Tennessee Center For Policy Research Drew Johnson takes a Saturday drive by Al Gore’s during the time most environmentalists went dark:

I pulled up to Al’s house, located in the posh Belle Meade section of Nashville, at 8:48pm – right in the middle of Earth Hour. I found that the main spotlights that usually illuminate his 9,000 square foot mansion were dark, but several of the lights inside the house were on.

In fact, most of the windows were lit by the familiar blue-ish hue indicating that floor lamps and ceiling fixtures were off, but TV screens and computer monitors were hard at work. (In other words, his house looked the way most houses look about 1:45am when their inhabitants are distractedly watching “Cheaters” or “Chelsea Lately” reruns.)

The kicker, though, were the dozen or so floodlights grandly highlighting several trees and illuminating the driveway entrance of Gore’s mansion.

I [kid] you not, my friends, the savior of the environment couldn’t be bothered to turn off the gaudy lights that show off his goofy trees.
