House covers Murtha’s backside

By Michelle Malkin  •  March 30, 2009 09:40 PM

Eric Zimmermann at The Hill reports tonight that the most ethical Congress ever voted again to cover corruptocrat John Murtha’s ample backside:

For the sixth time, the House has rejected a resolution by Rep. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) to initiate an ethics investigation into the relationship between lawmakers at the PMA Group. This time, however, Flake gained more Democratic supporter than any of the previous votes.

The “privileged resolution”–requiring action within a few days–was tabled by a vote of 210-173, with 25 Democrats voting to keep the resolution alive. Last time, 17 Democrats voted with Flake.

Flake is a long time anti-earmark crusader who has sought to call attention to the ethical shadow surrounding the PMA lobbying firm, which FBI agents raided in February. Paul Magliocchetti, the founder of the firm and a former aide to Rep. John Murtha (D-PA), has closed the lobbying shop and moved to Florida.

To paraphrase the King of Pork, they’re not corrupt, they’re just taking care of each other.

“If I’m corrupt, it’s because I take care of my district,” Mr. Murtha said.

Couldn’t Madoff say the same thing? “If I’m corrupt, it’s because I take care of my family and friends.” There’s always a way to rationalize helping some at the expense of others. But the decision to break the law is a lot easier when the middleman gets a big piece of the action, too.

Covering Murtha’s ample a$$ will take a huge tarp! Seriously, none of these corruptocrats are being made to answer for anything. How will we ever get the cuffs on them and put them behind bars where they belong? This is beyond frustrating! I long for the day when they all are brought to justice and tried for corruption and treason!

Agreed! Murtha called them a bunch of ignorant rednecks and the people of Western Pennsylvania went to the polls and agreed with him. So they not only allowed Murtha to buy their votes but they sold their integrity and self-respect as well.

She would just sue the government claiming it as cruel and unusual treatment to be refused her treatments. In today’s society, it would be offered free of charge.

The fact that people are willfully voting these people in and back in to office is scary enough. The fact that even a small percentage of Americans would be following them, in fact, screaming and encouraging them to take this path to our certain destruction makes me mourn for my nation. I fear that it is already a lost cause, though I pray that I am wrong.

I have heard a couple of weak attempts, but nothing else. If the shoe was on the other foot, the dems would be raging on TV every chance the got. Why are we so timid? Timidity never won a war and it will do us NO good in this one. We need to replace all the RINOs in Congress with some real patriots who have backbones. This is worse than disgusting.
