I opposed the auto bailouts from the start. What should’ve happened is bankruptcy and reorganization, and then we could’ve started talking about what’s to be done with the retirement/benefit/comp costs that are driving this problem. So the cradle to grave job benefits bubble has not been reported as bursting, because that would ruin the whole nanny-state-palooza that the Congress and O Administration have planned.

Now we have one company (Chrysler) that’ll be merged with Fiat, and one (GM) that’s to be run by Fiat. I have a prediction: FAIL.
