Reader Amy writes: “Hi! I am a graphic artist. I put together some sign artwork (for all of those who may not have time to make a homemade sign….) from some of the tea party slogans I have seen and put them on a web page so that they are free and downloadable. The art is set up so you can take them to a local copy shop and print inexpensive 11″ x 17″ color copies on cardstock. You can download the signs, post the link… pass it on!”

The Cape Coral FL Tea Party, reportedly canceled over the weekend, is back on again. Details here.

Tea Party activists will be appearing on the Glenn Beck show in the next hour.

Momentum has snowballed phenomenally since we started reporting on the tax revolt movement five weeks ago. People have even started e-mailing around the Mesa AZ protest photo round-up as a viral e-mail. Too funny. There are now lots of national figures on board — and many more trying to run in front of the parade. The grass-roots, however, are keeping it real. And that is critically important.

This is about you, your families, and your voices being heard in opposition to confiscatory policies and reckless bailouts supported by too many public servants in both parties.

Reader Chris writes:

We had a great “Tea Party” Rally in Decatur, Al on the 28th. The local press would not give us hardly any air time or press. We did manage to get a little press but the weather was pronounced to be extremely bad on Saturday, yet we had not a drop of rain and the weather was great. We had a great turnout with some just driving up as we were shutting down. They said that they heard it announced on the Radio just as we were shutting down.

Thanks for the help you gave us in posting the Rally.

Keep up the Fight, and we will keep fighting too!

Reader Dick:

Michelle:

Please help Montanans by giving this some words in your columns for the next few days. We are in Bozeman, MT; but we hope to reach others in the state. Your column can help, as you have many fans here.

‘Conservatives for the Constitution’ – a group of people who are fed up with the last 62 days of Constitution- shredding in Washington D.C. – is going to march on the Montana State Legislature in Helena. The march will take place on Saturday, April 4, 2009 (This *coming Saturday*!), and we plan to be in place at the State Capitol by 7:45 am. The objective is to make known our outrage and disgust with the ’stimulus’ funds earmarked for Montana, which will be considered by the State Legislature in the next few days.

There is also a Tea Party being planned by locals in Bozeman, MT on Tax Day. That is a separate event, and will likely be after the Legislature adjourns.

Thank you for any play you can give this story.

Washington DC:

The Tax Day Tea Party protest will be held at Lafayette Park in Washington DC from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm on April 15th!

Reader Bob:

We are planning a tax revolt Tea Party in Prospect Heights, Illinois on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 9 A.M. , on the corner of Camp McDonald and Elmhurst Roads.

This revolt is right before a local election on April 7, 2009 when they are asking to raise our taxes through a referendum. Any notoriety will be appreciated. Regards, Bob Boyer, THE GADFLY.

From Amy in NJ:

Trenton Tea Party

Reader Edna:

You are invited to attend and speak at the Citrus County Tea Party on April 18, 2009, 12-3P, Old Historical Courthouse, One Courthouse Square, Inverness, Florida.

From Sgt Tim:

FYI, we are organizing an April 15th Tea Party here in Blair County, PA. It will be noon to 2 PM with further information on where made available early next week.

The web site http://www.blaircountyteaparty.com/ has contact information.

Reader Terence:

If at all possible, please have/make the following event listed as a “local Long Island” event. It involves a subject matter that is of great importance to many people.

The event organizer is John J. Stevens.
Event: Freedom Friday Tea Party
Location : Northport Harbor, Long Island,
New York – April 3rd

Reader Bob:

The students at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia are having the Colonial Area Tea Party protest on the 11th of April (a Saturday) at 1 PM. The location is the Crim Dell on the campus itself. What is unique here is that this is, to me knowledge, the only college student led protest in Virginia and possibly the nation. Also, the protest will be quite close to Colonial Williamsburg, the heart of the American Revolution.

Glenn Reynolds has more photos/posts on Tea Party events from the weekend.

Sissy Willis posts on the Essex County Tea Party on Boston’s north shore.

It’s organized by the AZ Federation of Taxpayers
    http://www.americansforprosperity.org/031809-save-date-april-15th-tax-day-tea-party

Say “No” to any and all tax increases (”temporary” or otherwise). Did you know that payroll withholding taxes of today began during World War II as a “temporary” measure for financing the war that ended 64 years ago?
Not only are we still forced into payroll withholding, but we’re penalized if we don’t have 80% of our tax bill withheld! That means we’re forced to loan the government our money (interest-free) for up to 15 months each and every year!

    ******************************************
What: Phoenix Tax Day TEA Party
    When: Wed., April 15, 2009 5:30 – 7:00 pm

Where: Arizona State Capitol, Senate Lawn

Who: The AZ chapter of American for Prosperity, allied pro-taxpayer organizations, hundreds (thousands?) of taxpayer activists from around the state, Arizona’s best legislators, and several pro-taxpayer media personalities. For more details, contact infoAZ@afphq.org.

Why: We need to protest (and stop!) the tax increases proposed by big-spending politicians at the federal, state, and local levels.

How: RSVP to infoAZ@afphq.org saying “I’ll be at the State Capital in Phoenix.” Bring friends, family, and co-workers. And bring signs with big letters for the TV cameras! We will have stations set up where you can put tea bags into envelopes and mail them to President Obama and to your Congress members.

As usual, the mainstream news has completely ignored citizens, but bureaucrats and politicians are very nervous. Read how Florida’s TEA parties have been so effective that bureaucrats have begun denying “permits to assemble” on one or another pretext:

While I support the efforts of these protests, I must ask, if and when these do NOTHING to change our government’s unconstitutional power grab, then what?

I’m sorry to be pessimistic, but I know I have been writing my Congresswoman, Gabrielle Giffords, and all I get is the standard canned response. She voted for the GIVE Act and the spendulus. Congress and the antichrist in the White House don’t care about these protests. So, protest away, but is there a plan B when they do whatever they want anyway? Can we really afford to just sit and let them get away with it until the 2010 midterms? If it’s this bad in two months, just imagine after two years.

Here people talk about what a bold stand they are taking by attending a Tea Party. How about taking a bold stance by removing your children from state-run education? How about turning off the television, or *gasp* throwing the thing out, for a change? Like most Christians who think they are bold for wearing a tshirt with some lyrics on it, most “conservatives” don’t have the slightest clue of what we’re up against nor how to combat it.

My concern now is that with all of the celebrities getting involved that this will no longer be perceived as a grassroots common man movement. There are some places that will have speakers or VIP’s that should be subject of the Tea Party participants ire, not adulation.

I have been trying to put some things in perspective and, quite frankly, some are painfully obvious. It is putting the whole situation of today in some kind of order and understanding. I have come to a conclusion that our, so called, elected officials think we the people have too many freedoms. There was an old phrase that said people, in general, just want to be led. How this mindset became the order of the day with the Federal Government is beyond me but it has been slow and insidious. One incremental move at a time our freedoms are being taken away, our way of life is being marginalized and our social structure broken apart under the guise of progress. What I do know is this, free thinkers are and will be a dangerous enemy to those that are willfully misusing the peoples trust to further their social and economic agendas. The more the Tea Party movement grows, the more things will start to come to a head. Then we will find out who stands where and for what.

True grassroots means that we can’t allow organizations to take over this movement. Can they help? Yes. Can they take credit for it? No. Is there a problem having elected officials at your tea party? No. What a great opportunity for them to see how outraged we are at what is occurring in Washington, our state capitols, and our city halls! But most importantly, you know your community best. Let’s remember the current problem we have in government is too much central control. Let’s keep the power of this movement in local hands.

The link for taxdayteaparty might not be working, because the site has been hit by hackers trying to shut it down. Keep trying eventually it will be back up. Do a search for other sites with info on them. There are lots of them out there.

For those in the KC metro area, check out our website for info on the April 15 tea party. Kansas City Tea Party

My wife and kids will be joining me at the Temecula, CA TEA party on April 15.

    Our signs include:

    “Debt = Slavery”
    “It’s Not Racist To Protest”

    And my favorite:
