Sort of a stupid set of images, I guess. No doubt an artist trying to be provocative. Artists love to be provocative. FWIW, I have no problem with smoking. I also have no problem with mothers smoking, or with pregnant women smoking. I don't like to see women throwing babies, though. That's a bit crazy.

Before you get all packed off about pregnant women smoking, I know it is a bit risky, but I don't think a pregnant woman smoking is a death sentence for the baby. I have seen too many healthy kids born to smoking mothers to be convinced of that.

That's my story. I'll stick to it. Until I'm talked out if it.

A million times D.I.T.T.O. on what Happyscraper and MNUSMCDavid said. Though my youth was during the 60s, it was still a gentler time and like David, I was out the door in the morning and didn't show back up until it was lunch time or dinner. What a wonderful place this was back then.

<em>"Yet over at Jezebel, blogger Tabitha loves the spread, and expresses regret that it wouldn't be possible in the U.S. because of the puritanical nature of our society."

"Jill, over at the blog Feministe, concurs with Tabitha, and there's some debate in the comments to her post."</em>

That second part was all I needed to know - Feministe is one of the most hate-filled, wound-tight places in the 'verse.

Want to see a flame-storm?
Go there and announce that you're either male, or a female that doesn't hate males, or a female that doesn't loathe traditional American values - and keep your extinguisher handy.

when I was a kid in South Philly.... during the sumer we left the house at 7:30 AM didn't come home until 4:30PM..... South Philly?!!!!... what ever happened? our culture weenified themselves, that's what. Our streets, statistically (excepting Hmong and Somali thugs) are safer than they were when we were kids.

OK, I'll play.

Thought the first pic was a PSA (Public Service Announcement) for women 'with child.' Yep, that is fine and certainly wise.

Then the second. Hmmmm, was she tossing or catching the baby? Did not know how that connected to the first. Confusion.

Followed the second link to the actual magazine. Heck, it is a series. There are captions that, more or less, explain the intent and motive.

What I noticed overall, were the shoes. Good greif, were they tall. LOL.

I can't tell you how much I miss the 1950's! Seriously, life was good then and we had an innocence that was decent and peaceful. Family values, a sense of shame and conscience, and good old fashioned peace and good will toward each other. Sure, we had some problems, but they pale in comparison to today. I so desparately want to go back to the days of talking to the neighbors over the back fence while hanging clothes on the line. And letting my kids out to play until way past dark without worrying about them. Sorry...I got carried away. I just miss those great old days so much!

Why are we photo-documenting my life? The only thing we're missing is the other guys in the background who were waiting for me to be overseas....

I see the "work" of someone who is very very disturbed.

It reminds of an old saying, you can't reason with a sick mind.

I see a very small likelihood that the pregnant model waited until marriage.

I see something stupid that I wouldn't have wasted a second glance on if it weren't for the article.

So I guess the Rorshach test would put me at somewhere between "judgmental prude" and "sick of this world's notion of 'celebrity'"

(whatever happened to those Mike Straka GRRR articles, anyway?)

I guess I'd call myself a "chronically pissed-off conservative white male" at least for another 1389 days.
