I know it’s easy to see Chicago politics as one big liberal machine, but there’s enough in-fighting within the Democratic party here that it’s more like two or three groups.

Consider this, in most other cases where a Democratic official finds himself in trouble, the Democrats circle the wagons and defend on all fronts. Not so in Blago’s case (and perhaps this is the real reason he’s so fired up).

Obama and Emanuel come from an opposing faction to Blagojevich. In fact, I believe Rahm was the one that likely tipped off the Feds. Blago’s got nothing on Obama. If he did, we would have heard about it by now since he’s made just about every television appearance he can.

Heck, Blago’s so isolated from the liberal faction, even lgm won’t defend him by trying to find a Republican he thinks is worse than him.
