“Comrade”
Feeling warm and fuzzy all over. How do they translate “Yes, we can” in Russian?:
Russia’s Dmitry Medvedev hailed Barack Obama as “my new comrade” Thursday after their first face-to-face talks, saying the US president “can listen” — even if little progress was made on substance.
The Russian president contrasted Obama as “totally different” to his predecessor George W. Bush, whom he blamed for the “mistake” of US missile shield plans fiercely opposed by Moscow.
I have a feeling our friends at The People’s Cube are going to have a ball with this! Speaking of which, check out their new Zazzle store. Commie mockery for every occasion!

Has there ever been any doubt Mein Fuhrer wasn’t American?
I believe that “Yes, we can” translates into “Yes, you will”.
When does “Chairman Barack’s Little Red Book” hit the stands?
The One has transformed America’s relationship with the world. Meanwhile, Poland, Czechoslovakia, and Israel have this sinking feeling in their stomachs. Europe has yet to catch on. Without a strong USA, they have nothing.
Birds of feather recognize each other instinctively.
Did you see the article on Politico? http://dyn.politico.com/printstory.cfm?uuid=6CD55D64-18FE-70B2-A89B1EF075F993F4
Clue???
Hello. Is anybody listening? Is this thing on?
:thud-thud-thud:
Obama and Medvedev made nice to each other in public. Is that like Bush inviting Putin to his ranch and gushing that he had seen Putin’s soul?
If the Russians stop helping Iran’s nuclear program, that will make Obama’s trip worthwhile.
Uh.. yeah… of course Medvedev likes Obama and hated Bush. Obama does not have US interests in mind when dealing with Foreign nations. That’s great for Russia… bad for us.
Hey did Obama bring his Russian Foreign Policy Adviser with him? What was his name again?
Oh yeah….. Ben Dover.
Why does Moscow oppose a strictly defensive system that would protect Poland and other US allies from Iranian or Russian nuclear blackmail?
Oh, yeah, right.
Nevermind.
When is someone in these meetings going to stand up and tell this arrogant ass to blow it out his ear.
OT

Bingo.
“Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance”
Will have to do in the mean time. It explains his “certain resentment against his mother’s race”–the one that fed and clothed him, held him, sent him to school- that race. That tired old white grandmother who gave up a dream of ever owning a house so Obama could live the good life–that race.
But the left will lie about it–they lie about everything else.
On the old National Lampoon album “Lemmings,” white people are supposed to “off” themselves for the good of the world.
Its already on Its a little blue book.

Hmm… We can’t copy the Red Book, too obvious. Let’s make it blue ! Brilliant !

Yet another one CooCoo for Cocoa Puff!
We would sooner get the likes of you to believe that CO2 in not a green house gas or poisonous but a vehicle for taxing the air we breath.
That’s a pretty tall if. If a frog had wings…
Besides, you act like Obama (or you) doesn’t want Iran to have nuclear blackmail capability.
I am waiting for the edict that all households will have a picture of the Dear Leader in their living rooms on the off hand chance The One may come by for a visit and show their solidarity for the latest 5 Year Plan.
Agreed. However, at what price? Will we agree to get rid of every last one of our nuclear weapons, in exchange for a “promise” that the Russians will do the same?
I find it revealing that all of the obamanites, when confronted with the accusation that he is a socialist, immediately change the subject. It is obvious they know what he is. The really sad part is that the Democrat party is now the international socialist workers party – and this bodes ill for the USA.
Also, as far as I can tell, the stupid people of Europe are mesmerized by obama, not realizing that if he succeeds in his international socialist intentions, they will suffer horribly.
I wish we had a leader that could smell weakness.
Iran’s nuclear program came from the Saddam Hussein regime. The scientist just went across the border.
You know I’m setting up an easy joke there….since our ‘conservative representatives’ in Washington are exactly that…weak. And, I suppose Obama is noticing that quite well.
We have a leader that stinks of weakness abroad, even as he manages to maintain his Chicago style crooked hard ball Rahm Emanuel politics at home…
Between this and, “My man” da Silva, I just want to vomit.
From my studies of the spirit world, demons recognize each other too.
Then the really horrid part begins.
Difference here, lgm, is that Medvedev looked into Obama’s soul and saw a kindred spirit.
At the time Bush “looked into Putin’s soul” my comment was if he did, all he saw was a hammer and sickle and the letters KGB. Both events were equally STUPID.
If the Russians stop helping Iran’s nuclear program…, Dream on lgm. It is not in their national interest to do so. I had to deal with the Russians for 25 years. Regimes change, but geography dictates foreign policy, unless of course you’re an idiot like Obama or Hillary and don’t understand that.
You don’t have to have ‘Obama’ or ‘talks w/Medvedev’ to get Iran to stop…let Israel loose on ‘em, and that’ll take care of that…
Did Medvedev mention whether Obama bowed, kowtowed, or curtsied to him?
Near as I can tell, Obama doesn’t care if Iran has nukes. So please tell me again why a Jewish guy would vote for Obama?
Medvedev looked into Obama’s eyes and saw his soul. And it told him, “this guy is a push over. It’s going to be easy to walk all over him”. What a fool!
History has shown that freedom loving people cannot trust anything said by:
Communists
Socialists
Liberals
Progressives
..nor should we. Yet, here we go. Fearless leader makes nice with the leaders of nations whose interests are not necessarily in line with those of the citizens of the United States. But, he can’t do the same with the loyal opposition party in the Congress?
He and his “crew” made an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. Are they abiding by that oath?
How long are the citizens of this country going to allow this outlaw behavior to continue?
They like the way his pants fit… around his pec’s.
They have the same mindset as the men who got out of their cattle car after the train arrived at the concentration camp with the smoke coming out of the incinerator and still thought they would be just fine.
Why would anyone harm a simple bank clerk with a wife and three kids? After all the family was all still all together. Who would imprison housewives and school children?
We will be just fine…..
Unfortunately, waaaaay too many American Jews are Libs. In fact, they make up the backbone of the the Universities and intelligentsia.
……and Hollyweird.
I don’t what the surprise it about. We knew Obama was a commie back in the campaign. He is not going to fix the economy because its his plan to bankrupt us. Its in the marxist ideology to take everything over. Make everyone join the party. When guns are threatened, that will be the death knell of freedom and if we don’t wake up then it will be too late. There is no formal opposition to all of this, nothing we can do. Taxation without representation!!! The elections of 2010 will be managed by Acorn so we know the outcome. It won’t matter because amnesty will make sure no conservative will be in power again let alone a white person. After watching the Black Panther doc the other night on Nat Geo, it is obvious where this country is going. I might sound like chicken little but I am gonna be prepared for the takeover. When Obama gets the grocery stores hungry people will sign allegiance to Obama.
Ha! Erkel alert!!
Fixed it for you.
Furthermore . . .
Medvedev mentioned that Obama kissed his a$$ and called it ice cream.
Obama is Josef Stalin with better suits and a teleprompter. . . what’s not to love?
*SPIT*
I guess, like Bush with Putin, O’Dreamer looked into Medvedev’s eyes and sensed his soul. Azzholes, both.
Oh yeah, he’s different all right….he’s a boot on your face, forever.
All hail Lord Obama!
And the signal they should have given back was ‘You’re the president, and you work for us, now get on board the business train and lets get to work instead of sizing up the stream flow of each others private parts’
Harsh sbw999, funny too
Now where will I put that picture of

Bush made a big mistake. Not his only one, either, although I have to give him credit for standing up for our country and keeping us safe. I miss that!
Not going to happen. Why should they? I predict that Israel will be striking Iran within the year.
BARF!!!!
Geez, thanks guys. There are some of us “Jews” that throw up a little bit when we think we hear The One’s name.
And, for the record, I am not the only one. There is another one that lives with me.
Also, there were many partisan Jewish groups during WWII. The Bielski Brothers, the Sobibor escape and the Warsaw Ghetto uprising come to mind. Unfortunately, most had limited success due to lack of fire power.
So do y’all have to rub our noses in the stupidity of the Liberal Jews? There are basically 5 kinds of Jews: Pay attention, it can get confusing.
Orthodox (includes Traditional, Modern Orthodox, Haredi and Chabad) – usually conservative pols
Conservative/Masorti – mostly libtards, with a sprinkling of conservative pols
Reform/Liberal/Progressive – almost entirely liberals.
Jewish Renewal – Code Pink liberals. (I went to one service where some of the members actually supported ELF activities! And LOVED Al Gore…)Reconstructist/Humanist/Secular – Code Pink liberals. These folks eat on fast days and fast on Feast Days .
Approx 20% of Jews fall in the Orthodox camp. So now you know….
Here is a quote from that article you referenced…Rush talked about it this a.m….”But President Barack Obama wasn’t in a mood to hear them out. He stopped the conversation and offered a blunt reminder of the public’s reaction to such explanations. “Be careful how you make those statements, gentlemen. The public isn’t buying that.”
“My administration,” the president added, “is the only thing between you and the pitchforks.”
Our illustrious leader, using his Chicago gangster tactics and mafia style. Gag.
So was it TOTUS, or the big TV at the back of the room, Tarpon?
lgm, you really think he’ll accomplish this? You really are living in LaLa land!
Read the linked article and it quotes only Pres Medvedev. No quotes from Pres Obama. Unless I hear Pres Obama call Medvedev his Comrade, or look into his eyes and see his soul, I am going to keep my powder dry.
As for the missile defense against Iran, take a look at a map and see where it would best be placed. [Note: Implicit in that statement is that a missile defense should be placed. The question is where.]
The best place to put the missile defense system to protect Europe from Iranian missiles would be Turkey. It is better to take out the missiles sooner rather than later. Greece, Bulgaria or Southern Romainia would also be superior locations. Why put the system in Poland?
Good point…it’s all just politics. Bush was staking claim to his willingness to work with Putin–the message was if things don’t work out, it must be Putin’s fault. Medvedev was playing the “my friend” game and his message was simply don’t make any “mistakes” that we won’t “like”. The Russian approach is very much like that of a stereo-typical mobster.
Okay – here’s the real reason I came to comment here:
Obama at European Press Conference
If you vomit when you hear his voice, here is the article from the Guardian.
Oh, and here is a blog of a Hollywood Jew that warned us against Obama….and one more conservative Jewish blog.….
So that makes FOUR politically conservative Jews.
Oh yeah, and Debbie Schlussel, too.
It seems to me that other foreign leaders see Obama as weak and malleable. And here’s the problem. They’re correct.
I remember right after 9/11, a number of people I spoke with, including many democrats, said they were sure glad that the guy in the White House was Bush and not Gore as Gore would have gone soft and bent a knee to our enemies.
Well, in some ways we dodged a bullet back then. Unfortunately, our current situation is not so fortunate.
Yes, I can tell you would be one of the partisans.
Please don’t read too much into the comments. Lots of dolts among my fellow Lutherans out there too.
My compliments on a very good question.
In fewest words given the potential launch points or the incoming targets and the sector to be defended, a location like Poland provides acceptable warning time and a location that provides an acceptable intercept solution given the interceptor’s performance and slant range.
Sorry, I used to be ADA.
Answer?: Never. Because they are the rulers of the masses. Because they are all cut from the same cloth. Imperious, pompous, arrogant, omnipotent etc….
Say… Where is it in The Bible that describes what’s going on with Obama and the rest of the anti-American leaders?
Thank you for the link. About 1/3 of the way down is a photo for all you airplane lovers….
Yeah, that is on Putin’s priority list, right under banning vodka in Russia and unilateral disarmament.
Not nose-rubbing at all. The guy asked a question, and he got an answer. The majority of Jews in this country are Democrats first. That’s why they had no problem voting for a guy who has a habit of hanging around with folks who hate Jews, and who isn’t particularly fond of them himself.
LOL…..gotta love that fanciful left-wing idealism.
The end of the West is nigh, my friends.
No
AlohaGuy said (#34):
Speaking only for myself: (1) to get the anti-semitic wingnuts and religious right out of office. (2) To have a competent President who will balance the budget so the economy will grow and I will get richer (If my taxes go up 10% and my income goes up 20%, I come out ahead. Under Bush, my taxes went down and my income went down more because of his economic mess.). (3) To have a President who will force Israel to make peace before they get themselves killed and start WWIII in the process.
Hangfire (#39):
Illustrates point (1) above.
So I’m guessing you were quite disappointed when Charles Freeman withdrew his name from his nomination as Chairman of the NIE.
Don’t hold your breath on this one
You obviously have been reading the Hamas charter.
Did Medvedev steal the Chicago Thug’s BlackBerry?
Then, you’re an idiot. Obama’s massive spending binge and accompanying deficits will stagnate the economy, which coupled with his tax increases and the energy cost increases in his cap and trade scheme will make you poorer.
I think #1 is the indicative response. You simply hate the “Religious Right” so much, you’re willing to burn down the entire economy, and the entire constitutional system to get at them.
My compliments on a fairly reasonable response.
Then why are our ships sitting off of the coast of North Korea in international waters (Sea of Japan) providing the earliest of warnings, . . . and, not near the Phillipines, not off the east coast of Japan, or not off of the Kuril Islands in international waters? All approximately the distance from Iran to Poland.
The sooner we intercept a missile the better. Because a rocket moves slowest as it rises.
Not to mention the fall out from the interception itself. The sooner the intercept system engages the target, more of the fallout will likely land in Iran, and not in Europe.
Good on you for having been an ADA. I used to be a Lifeguard.
I will add, that it wouldn’t be a bad idea to have a backup system, if the first try misses. Yet, I contend closer to the source of the launch is best.
lgm also apparently hates Jews, regardless of himself being one. It is not the right wing who support hamas against Israel! Good grief,….Obama gave hamas a huge chunk of money just recently. Seriously, lgm needs to find out what Obama really is doing. He might be very unpleasantly surprised if he just took off his blinkers. lgm is really a brain dead moron with no idea what he is talking about. Everything he says is unbelievably naive and uninformed. And for some reason, he just keeps coming back here so we can bash him some more. That is a sign of true insanity.
Please name one anti-semite from the previous administration.
Isn’t this roughly the same as getting on the trains?
Medvedev and Obama have one real important thing in common…neither of them are the person who is really in charge. (Where’s Putin?)
Medvedev, like Obama, is simply a figurehead, selected by the true power in charge. If you can’t figure out who’s really in charge in our country, ponder recent history. (Hint: Think “coalition.”)
How about this for “if”, lgm?
If my aunt had balls she would be my uncle.
Or this:
If Obama wasn’t a hard-core marxist, he could be a better president.
Since my aunt will never have balls, Obama will never be anything but a hard-core marxist, and the Russians will never stop helping Iran’s nuclear program, there’s not much value in statements that start with “if”.
Exactly!
Thank you for standing up Michelle!
Define totally different — Naive and juvenile comes to mind.
Reminds me of when Colonel Hogan was “instructing” the prisoners in Russian. Only this time it may not be TV.
In principle everything you said has merit. Ships provide the ability to manuver that landbased SAM systems can’t. They provide a lot of the flexability you describe as advantageous.
We have NORAD target acqusition systems that can instantly compute the launch point and refine the impact point based on the angle of ascent and duration of the boost phase. So I would think the ships are where they are to defend Japan and as a show of force.
Yes, ideally you want to intercept as early as possible and have a layered defense. However, if you, for example, place a defense in Turkey to defend Europe you are assuming a launch from certain sections of Iran. If they can fire a missle from another location friendly to them, then what?
Because these systems are not all that mobile you are in a way forced to “pinch in” around the defended area so you can defend it from as many directions as are needed. It is unfortunat, because yes, destroying a missile in the boost phase and over unfriendly terrain or the sea is ideal.
There are other advantages to “terminal” defense. As the warhead reenters the atmosphere it is easier to spot it in a cloud of decoys, because the decoys are lighter. You can address threats coming from multiple directions at once.
My point is you are not wrong at all in anything you said, nor I believe am I. It is a balancing act based on several factors. The best thing these systems can do is serve as a deterrent. The best weapons systems are the ones that do their job without ever having to be used.
да, мы можем!
да, бы будете!
(I think)
Flyoverman, aren’t you a tad bit surprised that zyzzgy and the other liberals on here aren’t claiming that missile defense is a Reagan fantasy which will never work?
zyzzgy’s criticism of the placements demonstrate considerable progress with respect to the liberal psyche.
In fact, wasn’t it recently popular to poke fun at the military’s folly after every test simply because the system…gasp…failed on a whole (despite successful subsystem performances). It was almost as if liberals thought that inventors simply “flip the ON switch” after the initial assemply.
sarc on/
After all, test are supposed to determine whether something will EVER work. Tests certainly aren’t used as a LOW COST engineering method to redistribute developmental resource priorties.
sarc off/
I know. I know, guys. None of YOU ever doubted the system’s viability. And I know none of you would ever doubt it’s value even if it failed to perform during the next test or real world use.
“Under Bush… my income went down more…”
lgm, you made less money while Bush wss President?
What happened?
Did the NYU math department heads finally realize that their professors shouldn’t be stupid enough to try passing an anecdote off as evidence of anything?
Besides, Bush tried to fix the root cause years ago.
After social security blows up, you’ll probably also try to deny that Bush tried to fix it after the 2004 election. Certainly, your math skills are at least good enough to know that the democrats LIED about social security back then.
Useful Idiot.
Corkie,
Yes, we had a good exchange. More dialog like that is needed. Substance not slogans and name calling.
zyzzyg,
One additional thing. You wrote,
My being an Air Defense Artilleryman (ADA) and you being a lifeguard meant in different ways we were both attempting to accomplish the same thing.
Yeah, with the same difference/crummy outcome – ZIP!
Putin will never cutoff Iran’s nuclear supply through carrot diplomacy; he’s a self-serving bully who arose through the ranks of violence that permeates the KGB.
Face it libs, Obama is Bush III and he’s making all the same mistakes.
The same ol’ same ol’.
Fair enough. And, I am certain we would agree that redundant systems, also serve a purpose. Notwithstanding the cost, it would be wonderful to have missile defense systems everywhere we could. Yet, cost being an issue, where would a missile defense system against Iran best be placed?
As a personal note, please know that I am not a liberal, as Corkie suggests. In fact I am extremely offended by his suggestion.
More often than not, I take issue with how issues are presented, and am concerned about being consistent.
Actually, I am more angered when someone on the ‘right’, my side, is disingenuous, misrepresents the truth, or falsely characterizes an issue. It is like family, and yes, I am concerned about what the other side says, but I am FAR more concerned when a member of my family strays.
I expect the ‘left’ to be knuckleheads, but when you represent me and what I believe in, and then stray, that becomes too much. Yep, I am harder on my family than I am on the neighbors children.
I simply expect more from my own.
Though subtle, we responded directly and immediately to one anothers questions in a respectful manner. And, that is unlike what Corkie does.
Thank you,
Z
Flyoverman,
Just for emphasis, Corkie said the following -
I defy anyone to find where I said the missile defense is a Pres Reagan fantasy.
Because I have questions about the best placement for a missile defense system does not mean I oppose it. Based on the mere question somehow my position is mischaracterized, and that is offensive. Corkie is offensive, and I am less likely to ever respond directly to anything said by Corkie. [NOTE: Thank you for the opportunity to do so indirectly. Tongue in cheeck. LOL.]
Again,
Respctfully,
Z
You think I’m offensive??? HA!
You shouldn’t be hypocritical. I never claimed you were against, or skeptical of, missile defense systems. I stated my surprise that you’re not.
In fact, I clearly stated that your criticism of the placement represents progress! Why would you imply the opposite?
Zyzzyg and Flyoverman, sory to break in to your conversation but there are a coupld of points I think need interjecting:
1. Whay not place the missiles in Turkey? Because a prior Democrat in the White House promised the Soviets (Russia, same thing today) that he would remove missiles already there so we have the precedence of no US ballistics in Anatolia.
2. Why Poland? Because Western Europe screwed us on Iraq. You see, since 1917, we have been jumping to the military needs of Western Europe spending blood and money (lots of both) to clean up the messes they made. However, the first time we actually ask them for the slightest bit of assistance, they call it an “illegal” war. Well, no Bosnian or Serb ever attacked America – but it was OK for us to come to their rescue because they needed it. They didn’t need us invading Iraq because Saddam owed them money – that they knew would never be repaid.
OK, what does this have to do with Poland? Well, Western Europe screwed us so President Bush turned to those Europeans we had most recently liberated, the Eastern ones. Poland was more than willing to help us. However, they aren’t stupid and they understand that the Uncle Sam gravy train comes with very few strings attached so, what do US Military bases bring to Poland? Jobs and Polish spouses of US Citizen Soldiers who move to the US and send money home.
That is really why Poland was considered. I like to think the fact that it torqued Russia’s nuts was a factor too but the payback angle is the most plausible.
Sorry, it was either that or feed the troll (lgm) and I promised not to do that any more.
This STICKER is going to look great on my Russian Ural Sidecar Motorcycle!
You made several points, and I have questions.
Any conversation is good conversation.
Not placing a missile defense system in Turkey, why couldn’t that be changed? Treaties are modified all the time. Apparently we understood, and accepted, that the Russians felt unease about having our missile intercept system in Turkey. If that was the logic then, it is easy to believe the Russians would expect to be equally uneasy with the missile intercept system in Poland, the Czeck Republic, etc.
A missile system in Western Europe to defend against Iran does not sound as effective because of the distance any rocket will travel before it is actually intercepted.
Yes, Western Europe had thier reasons for not supporting our actions in Iraq, but the failure here is to understand that the missile system is meant to deal with Iran. That, unfortunately, is short sightedness on their part.
OK, I accept your suggested reason for placing the missile system in Poland, though I still remain skeptical of it’s effectiveness so far away from Iran.
To everyone -
It is about reading comprehension. I challenged another poster for calling me a liberal. And, yes that is offensive.
Reading comprehension is also a function of reading your own statements. In one single sentence by another poster it was suggested that I was liberal and that liberals thought the missile defense system was a fantasy and would never work. Yet, the same poster, now claims that they did not say that I thought the missile defense systems was a fantasy and would never work.
It is called reading comprehension. Reading comprehension of other’s posts, and your own posts.
Then an accusation is thrown out, that I might be hypocritical. OK, . . . then provide some details. Back it up.
I am prepared to accept acknowledgement that other posters have made mis-representations or, mistakes. In fact I have made them, and have accepted being corrected.
Respect is earned – Mischaracterizing the facts is no way to earn respect, casting perjoritives is no way to earn respect, and having reading comprehension is one way of earning respect.
Everyone, thank you for allowing me the opportunity to get this out.
Z
You darned hypocrite. Don’t you dare lecture me about poor reading comprehension while you clearly engage in the same practices!
Reread my comment carefully.
Clearly this merely asks Flyoverman if he was surprised that missile defense wasn’t being called a Reagan fantasy (by you or by others).
Now, my next comment was;
This merely states that your current criticism should be considered progress compared to the previous claims which were typical of liberals (that missile defense was a pipe dream).
All you got is that I did imply that YOU were a liberal.
I don’t blame you for hating that label. So feel free to disassociate yourself from it via the content of your future comments.
it won’t be sold it will be provided to you on the day you’re born and it will be required reading on a daily basis…or provided to you in the gulags….
I believe that will happen, as soon as Israel, feels Iran is ready to fire…they have no choice, they have no more friends…it’s a fight to the death for the Israelis, thank to that spineless, pinko, American hating Great Impostor.
