Taking a stand against the open-borders agenda
The House Judiciary Committee held a hearing yesterday on local enforcement of immigration laws. As the GOP minority pointed out: “Although they’ve given it a creative title, the Democratic majority called this hearing to fulfill its pledge to investigate Sheriff Joe Arpaio. (More on the witch hunt here.) The move follows a petition drive by ACORN, in which the organization asked for a Justice Department investigation. The Democrats did not invite Arpaio to testify. Instead, their witnesses claim to have had their civil rights violated by Arpaio’s officers or other local law enforcement agencies, or have third-hand knowledge of the alleged abuses.”
Ray Tranchant stood against the amnesty mob to force the Democrats to confront the tragic consequences when local law enforcement does not work with federal authorities. You may recall two years ago, his daughter and her best friend were killed by an illegal alien drunk driver in the sanctuary city of Virginia Beach. The killer had been arrested twice prior, but local sanctuary laws prevented local officers from reporting the illegal immigrant to federal authorities. The illegal immigrant who hit the girls’ car at 70mph was severely drunk. While the girls were killed instantly, the illegal immigrant walked away from the accident unharmed.
Here is Mr. Tranchant’s full testimony:
First I want to thank you distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen for allowing me to share my testimony with you. I am not here personally for sympathy, but may offer a couple of solutions to the Elected Officials from my perspective, a man that for 2 years has intensely studied the problems and consequences of lax and opposing Immigration Laws.
Two years ago this week, my 16-year old daughter, Tessa, and her best friend, Ali, were killed as they were sitting at an intersection waiting for a red light to change. They both had their seatbelts on and were doing nothing wrong.
They were wonderful girls with bright futures.
But their lives ended suddenly and unnecessarily when a drunken illegal immigrant hit them at more than 70 miles an hour. Alfredo Ramos, whose blood alcohol level was almost three times the legal limit, didn’t see the girls’ car or the red light and couldn’t because of his intoxication. The crash killed Tessa and Ali instantly. Alfredo Ramos walked away unhurt.
At first, my focus was on mourning my daughter and her friend. Our community, friends and family stood with us, honoring their memories.
But anger and a feeling of betrayal took over when I discovered at the trial that Alfredo Ramos could have been — should have been — deported long before he ran that light. In fact, this accident wasn’t the first time that Alfredo Ramos walked away from a drunken incident. It wasn’t even the second time.
Alfredo Ramos had been arrested twice before — for driving under the influence (DUI) and public intoxication. He had a fake driver’s license from Florida and could not speak English.
But because of Sanctuary policies in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake, Virginia, nobody – not the judge in a prior DUI case or the police who arrested him in the prior incidents – questioned him about his immigration status. Instead of being deported to his home country, he stayed on the streets of Virginia Beach to drink, drive, and take two innocent lives in a way that displayed a wonton disrespect for the laws of our land.
He seemed invisible to the system. I’m not sure if your American kids or relatives would have had the same opportunity to fail. They probably would have been incarcerated, legitimate license suspended, insurance payments would go through the roof, and they would have had to pay large attorney’s fees. Ramos pays nothing, has no driver’s training, no insurance, no lawyer, no license, and now the American People have to spend approximately $30,000/ year for 40 years ($1,200,000) to rehabilitate – then deport him. The Taxpayers have to pay for it!
The deaths garnered local and national media attention: The Virginia Pilot, The Washington Post, The American Chronicle, MSNBC, CNN, Fox News, and many others wrote and talked about Tessa and Ali.
Their stories shed light on the tragic consequences of lax immigration policies.
Gladly, some important things have changed in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake in the last two years. Virginia Beach now requires that police check the immigration status of all arrested. Virginia Beach and Chesapeake passed measures requiring that companies doing business with the cities pledge not to hire illegal immigrants. Last July, a statewide law took effect which requires local jails to contact federal authorities to check the immigration status of all foreign-born inmates, irrespective of whether they are in the country legally. And, local police officers are working more closely with federal authorities than ever before.
But a threat remains!
Despite recommendations from the state’s Attorney General and the Virginia State Crime Commission, Virginia’s Governor has yet to ask federal authorities for a 287 (g) agreement; and ICE may not have the resources to support such a request. The 287(g) program would allow the state to enter into an agreement with the federal government so that state law enforcement officers can assist in the investigation, apprehension and detention of illegal immigrants. Opponents of 287(g) cite a supposed “chilling effect” on cooperation between immigrant communities and police, the cost of the program, or the potential for racial profiling as reasons to reject it.
As I testify here today, I expect to hear many of these arguments.
While I sympathize with those arguments, I am not compelled. I know about chilling experiences. They happen on the average of twice a month with Illegal Immigrants in America, transparent criminals in a broken system that lets them kill or injure honest citizens.
A family should not have to mourn the death of a loved one just because of an unrelated policy or the political correctness of not offending or inconveniencing a few people. This prevents us from making our communities safer, a Constitutional right to all citizens of the United States.
Newsweek columnist Robert J. Samuelson recently wrote:
“We face a choice between a society where people accept modest sacrifices for a common good or a more contentious society where a group selfishly protect their own benefit.”
I believe this to be true.

Congress seems to have a lot of time to waste on unnecessary investigations. Why change what is working in Arizona? Sheriff Arpaio is following the law.
If anything, the members of Congress ought to be looking at Obama’s and Geithner’s usurpation of hiring and firing powers over private corporations.
We need Comprehensive Immigration Enforcement, not reform. We need to restore respect for the law and the faith of the American people that their government is not selling them out. Amnesty for the illegal aliens is also amnesty for the corrupt companies who have been employing them. Money trumps everything, including love of country. Multi-nationals have no loyalty to country by definition, they see us as a market, not a nation. They see people as workers, documented or undocumented, no difference. If they can’t send the work to where the labor is cheaper, then they want to bring the cheap labor here. If citizenship becomes meaningless, this is no longer The United States of America.
If we love our Constitution and our representative Republic and we intend to keep it we must not surrender our sovereignty or abandon the rule of law. Profits must not supercede security. We should not create a new path to citizenship. We have a path to citizenship, more generous than any other country, illegal aliens have ignored it and bad choices do have consequences.
The people killed were not registered voters, so the Democrats don’t care.
The open border groups do NOT want aliens like Alfredo Ramos detained or removed. THEIR AGENDA THREATENS YOUR FAMILY!

I hate to be a wet blanket here, but the “voters” have spoken. Amnesty will shortly be the reality, and then they’ll begin importing another several million illegals to replace them – probably from China and India, since Mexico is starting to run low.

Illegal immigration is NOT a victimless crime. Someone, somewhere, loses something – hopefully, it isn’t your family member, your job, etc.
The battle for amnesty is likely to arrive soon – please get involved. Donate your time, some money, but most importantly, get involved and take a stand. Not one amnesty (for illegal aliens) EVER slowed illegal immigration into the US (in fact, they usually have the opposite and perverse effect of inciting a rush to the border in the short term).

an 8 year old girl was molested last night in a trailer park full of illegals in our little city of Plymouth, Indiana. His nationality or legal status will NEVER be mentioned. He has fled town.
The following is the result of taking part in Operation Chaos and contacting the Hillary campaign to report the polling station volunteers at the caucus were hanging Obama posters, making pro-Obama speeches before the caucus, and announced that Obama had won by a 10% margin in Ohio and Texas (in the Texas primary), which inspired many of the Clinton supporters to give up and go home. In fact, Hillary won the Texas primary easily, but lost badly in the cauci that night, and Obama and Hillary wound up splitting Texas almost evenly on delegates.
But why Texas Democrats so fear a picture ID requirement for voting, is pretty apparent. Fraudulent voting, including illegals voting, is harder with an ID requirement.
I love how it’s only partisan extremism and a distraction if WE do it.
Even Obama’s aunt gets to stay another year. When 20 million illegals get amnesty, we will get another 20 million illegals to replace them. This is all part of the Democrat plan to take over America. None of them have ever stopped and wondered what will happen when they are no longer in charge – when the illegals are running everything. Be serious when you call your legislators and tell them they will love your vote if the vote for amnesty. Then follow through and don’t vote for them. They will get the message then.

I find it FUNNY, but the witch the WITCH HUNT was in honor of, was not invited to the WITCH HUNT… SHERIFF JOE was holding the fort here in PHOENIX, while being burned at the stake in DC… I do believe CONGRESS is afraid of JOE, for he is not easily intimidated as are the AUTO EXECS, and BANKERS… They can not BULLY JOE, therefore they fear him…
Pretty soon I expect to see special entry/exit lanes at all borders of our country where illegal aliens may pass freely while U.S. citizens have to present identification and be screeened.
Calling, Faxing, etc…is not going to help. These traitors in our government only understand force. Until such time as we collectively show up at the White House lawn with our guns in hand…nothing will change. When will enough be eoungh? I cannot believe that a party controlling all three houses of government of this nation thinks it’s acceptable to ignore laws that would protect this country, give free passes to murderers, rapists, identity theives, and other law breakers, while insisting that if you don’t agree with them, you’re hateful, bigoted, racists.
Even worse is that in my state (Tx), as mentioned previously by commentors, these idiots are trying to convince people that having to provide ID and prove that you’re eligible to vote somehow violates fundamental rights (and the stupidity shown by the Tx Dem. Party claiming we’re a “democracy” wasnt lost on me either).
But then these are the same people taking up for terrorists and celebrating a judicial opinion holding that when terrorists captured on the battlefield and taken to a military base (not Gitmo), the terrorists can challenge in our courts.

Based on these words, it is easy to see that not only does the CFR have plans for a One World Government headed by an ‘intellectual elite’, our own news media has kept it hidden from us for the last half-century.
If we as Americans allow this illegal take over of our Government to continue, we will indeed see the birth of the New World Order that Rockefeller has been trying to enact for the last 40 years.

Putting troops on the border or building a fence will do NO GOOD at all unless we are willing to make being caught unpleasant enough to make them not want to try again. The revolving door deportation policies ensure that the majority of illegals deported will be back as soon as they can.
Regrettably, it is pointless as well as incorrect to blame the Democrats for this. Or even, largely, the Congress.
Look at the timeline in the case of the Ramos MURDER of Tessa Tranchant by Mr. Ramos.
Obama was not President and had no control over Immigration policy or enforcement.
It was the Republican in the White House and the appointed satraps of that mis-Admminstration who bear a heavy load of blame for this and similar deaths.
I hold George W. Bush *personally* responsible. If the term ”the buck stops here” means anything, anything at all, then Bush’s steadfast *refusal* to uphold, honor, and vigorously enforce the laws on the books rises to the level of criminal malfeasance in office.

Sheriff Joe is challenging them. What would one expect? A hearing with him being present?

Perhaps you have a nice word for persons in positions of public trust who violate their oath of office (”I will well and faithfully execute the duties of the office ….) in order to further the interests of hostile foreign powers (Mexico and El Salvador both fit here) and to knowingly permit damage to the rule of law and the expressed wish of the citizens. There is no nice term for it. It’s treason, or something durn close to it. And there are ‘leaders’ from both major parties who are in my view guilty of this. Certainly they are guilty of criminal nonfeasance in office and should be held to account for this.
What happened to these young ladies, and hundreds more like them every year, is not simply a terrible accident. It is the result of refusal to obey and to uphold the laws. It is the price we pay for pretending that national sovereignty and borders and all of that are discardable relics of the past. This is indistinguishable from the strategy of the Transnational Progressivists.
