The $3.6 trillion midnight spending spree
While you were sleeping, Congress was hard at work…passing the $3.6 trillion budget spending your hard-earned money. A bunch of fiscal restraint amendments were adopted to create an aura of responsibility — with Democrat senators openly confessing they’ll just throw the amendments out during conference. And who knows what other chicanery will occur in the backrooms:
The House and Senate approved budgets of about $3.5 trillion for the government on Thursday with no Republican support, a sign of deep partisan tensions likely to color Congressional efforts to enact major policy initiatives sought by President Obama.
On the heels of House approval of its spending plan for 2010, the Senate voted 55 to 43 shortly before midnight to adopt a similar budget after a day spent laboring over politically tinged amendments that did little to change a fiscal blueprint generally in keeping with Mr. Obama’s ambitious agenda.

“This responsible budget will start cleaning up the mistakes of the past and make critical investments in our future,” Senator Harry Reid, Democrat of Nevada and the majority leader, said.
Staunch conservative champion Sen. Tom Coburn sums up the behemoth as “73 pages and trillions of dollars in spending” and fellow fiscal warrior Jim DeMint advises the grass-roots: “Thanks to everyone this week who have followed the budget battle and called their senators. Keep fighting for freedom.”
Don’t get mad. Get mobilized.

I was justing watching the one give a townhall meeting in France, taking 20 minutes to answer one question, but he is telling them that it is our obligation to poor countries to help them and our obligation to lower our carbon footprint so countries like India will follow us…I guess we need to live in mud huts, and we must lower our nuclear arsanal to have credibility to tell Iran not to develope nuclear weapons. Our world is coming unhinged and no one is listening who can change it. The crazies are running the asylum.

I agree and we can do that to stop further damage, but if this budget and Obama’s agenda gets passed into law, you can remove every liberal from congress today and the damage will have been done and not easily undone.
I predict given this level of negative spending that before the end of 2012 all non Defense or US Courts spending at the Federal level will come to an end. All will fall away to service the national debt. What is happening to California will happen to the National Government but other nations cannot be force to bale-out USA like the US Federal Government is doing to the other states.

Hey, did you look at your paycheck this week – Obama’s promised tax reduction took effect and we have a few dollars more to spend.
Trouble is, he’s going to give us a little up front and then tax us with Cap N Trade, healthcare and other back door increases and our net effect will be a big negative.

Just because these thieves pass bills in the dark of night does not mean we cannot force change. WE CAN. The time is now for all AMERICAN men and women to come to the aid of their brethren and country. This will be hard, and long, and potentially…. violent, I fear. But the defense freedom from tyranny was never pretty, was it? I can find no reference showing a beautiful, serene defense of freedom and liberty. We may have to get comfortable with that. *NOTE* My reference to violence is that it may be perpitrated upon us, not the other way around. However, self defense is a legal act.
Voters need to get rid of all the politicians in office. These pieces of human waste are way to free with taxpayer money. If they believe so strongly in spreading the wealth, they should concentrate on their’s first. Problem is they are supported by taxpayers already, so the welfare mentality lives on. DC has become the grazing ground for the entitled and cheats. The buildings of congress and the white house need to be sanitized of the unethical and incompetent. Congress acts more like thieves and until voters get rid of them they will continue to act that way.
I saw something a few days ago from (as I recall) the Social Security Administration, claiming that inflation would be so low that there would be no annual COL adjustments for the next three years. I wondered at the time what planet they were referring to. I can’t see any way you can print money by the trillions of dollars and not trigger massive inflation. They are simply going to cook the books and claim that it doesn’t exist.

You couldn’t be more wrong. The only places in the budget that a liberal will cut are in Defense and law enforcement. What they are planning on doing is far more evil and insidious. They are going to use their universal health care plan to ration health care, especially to the elderly, to hasten their deaths and lessen the strain on the both the health care and retirement systems.
That’s the Chicago way.

A friend of mine sent me this, I do not know if it has ever been posted but it is informative.
The six-time Socialist Party candidate for President of the US, Norman Thomas, said this in a 1944 speech:
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of “liberalism,” they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.! ”
He went on to say: “I no longer need to run as a Presidential Candidate for the Socialist Party. The Democrat Party has adopted our platform.”
He was so right.
They are the true “thieves in the night”, sneaking around to put one over on the very people they were “entrusted” to serve. There is nothing more immoral or corrupt than to stab the American people in the back. They MUST know what they are doing is wrong…otherwise, why do they feel they need to sneak? By the way, they may have passed the budget, but they still have to pass bills to enact the spendy programs, don’t they? Maybe by that time, the republicans will again have majority and can defeat them. Hope springs eternal! Keep up the fight…even democrats are angry about this. Only the farthest left-wing moonbats are still rooting for these slugs.

What they never seem to want to understand is that, without increasing production (ie. aggregate value added), shifting money from one pocket to another simply distorts markets. The corollary to that is that you can’t expect the tax base to remain static when you increase the taxes (e.g. lots of ex-Kookafornians in my area in Texas; I hope they’re the sane ones).
Let’s be frank: government involvement in education has resulted in steadily increasing costs and steadily declining performance. The rubric that it only needs more money is wearing thin: every time we give it more money, standards decline. An we have the highest-cost education, per student, in the world! Is there even one reason to believe that the government can manage auto production, energy markets or health care any differently? Even one?
I guess if I eat a lot of mushrooms, lick a bunch of toads, all the while cheesing my F-ing brains out (see link), this 3.6 trillion spending spree will all make sense eventually.

Indeed. Recently in a conversation with a liberal family member I opined that 25-50 years from now the American People are going to engage in a tax revolt of such proportions as to constitute a Second American Revolution. My relative countered, “But that was about taxation without representation.”
A distinction without a difference:
- When Congress passed the “stimulus” without even bothering to read its own bill, who are they representing?
- When Congress passes laws in the middle of the night to avoid scrutiny, who are they representing?
Nobody I know…
Our public education system is the PERFECT example of how government runs things. Excessive spending for crappy results. They keep asking for more and more money, but nothing improves. The schools are run down and the programs are nothing but liberal brainwashing camps. They neglect important studies, like history for example, and spend too much time teaching “tolerance”, diversity, multiculturalism, how to use a condom, and how to vote for liberals! Public schools are the biggest failure the government has ever had (other than the current Congress). Big government cannot and should not run ANYTHING. God help us if they get their mitts on our healthcare system! And as for Congress, they need a Board of Directors to step in with the ability to fire them for poor performance.
We must work, starting toady and every day to remove the current congress critters and protest the policies the current oes are trying to pass. They no longer represent us only their political friends and donors.
A phone call from the Chinese premier to the white house, sometime in the near future: “Riiinnnnng, Mr. President, this is Chinese premier congratulating you on great achievement firing GM CEO for failure and disgraceful performance.”
Obama: “Why, ah, ah, er, thanks”.
Chinese Premier: “Yes, unfortunately I also give notice to you that, along the same lines, YOU ARE FIRED for bankrupting United States due to YOUR failure and disgraceful performance”.
Obama: “Ah, er, you can’t do that, can you”?
Chinese Premier: “So sorry to point out your wrongness. Since China own most of USA now, I am boss of you. So, please vacate white house in 30 days and have Air Force One ready for Chinese Premier. He has very heavy social calendar”.
Obama: “Ah, er, eh, click, buzzzzzzz”.
Not even Reid could possibly believe his own words. There is no way these guys could possibly look at this and actually believe it is going to do what they are saying it will. I find it impossible to believe that these Senior Senators could possibly be buying every single thing that comes out of Der Fuhrer’s mouth. I just can’t.
They are doing his bidding, sure, and it is pushing their agenda forward, but I just cannot believe that they are completely 100% in agreement with the words that exit their mouths.
Traslation: Al Gore should have won in 2000 and we would have bent you all over, 8 years ago, instead having to wait until now. And we’re going to make sure the GOP nevers wins again because we’re make the entire government the inaction wing of the DNC.

Ive already told my kids…. Ive done just about everything I can do for them. Its up to them from now on to make something of themselves and get into the Power Class while they still have a chance.
