Left wants in on Tea Party action
So, in addition to preemptive smears and sabotage efforts, the Left’s nutroots — feeling, well, left out of the spotlight after putting the Obamessiah in office — are organizing their own anti-Tea Party demonstrations.
Liberal guru Joe Trippi and government-subsidized Bill Moyers are pushing the new initiative, titled “A New Way Forward.” Hey, wasn’t Obama supposed to be your New Way Forward? Way to go!
The lefties have chosen April 11 to try and usurp media attention from the nationwide Tax Day Tea Party event on April 15. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
I should note: If even one of those protesters is truly sincere about opposing government bailouts of private industries and truly sincere about ending government support for crony pesudo-capitalists at Fannie/Freddie and truly sincere about letting failing banks fail, I say: Welcome to the club.
The rest is all nutroots Kabuki theater.
You can already guess how the national media will treat the two competing demonstrations. Tens of thousands of tax revolters = radio silence. A few dozen ACORN/ANSWER stragglers in front of any given bank = front page news.
No matter.
Get out there. Mobilize. Put your local and state officials and your members of Congress on notice.
They’re your true audience. Not the MSM.

Huffington Post calls on “citizen journalists” — left-wing disruptors — to go to the Tea Party protests and feed them news stories. Be prepared.

Tea Party leaders John O’Hara in Chicago and Mark Meckler in Sacramento appeared on Neil Cavuto’s show this afternoon to respond to stories of left-wing infiltration of the Tax Day Tea Party events.
Their message: Bring it on. They are open, transparent, and joined by Democrats, independents, and fiscal responsibility advocates of all stripes. They don’t fear disruptors.
Meckler: “We are demanding fiscal responsibility at every level of government. We are here to stay.”

Let one show up at our party. I have a sign to place over his/her head for a great photo op!
Fer sure. I still have my sign from the Palin rally – “We’re NOT drinking the kool-aid!”
These people never seem to have jobs or anything, do they? All they seem to do is protest. What will they actually be protesting this time? That they don’t pay enough taxes???
I run my own business and work hard at it every day, but WILL take the day to go to the pro-teaparty in my state. Looking forward to it.
Do not underestimate the grand standing and hijacking of protests that can be done by a few paid ACORN hacks and a willing propagandista in the media!
I have mixed feelings about the various ‘media’ people that are trying to ‘get on board’ with the tea parties as they also bring their own baggage with them.
The tea day protests will need to make clear what they are about BEFORE they are disrupted by the ‘haters’ on the left. And make no mistake about it, the left will be trying to make these parties their own.
Just went on that link, no mention of protest against spending and taxes, just a call to ‘break up the banks’. Wall Street, as usual, is their villain. They are worried that the Tea Parties are going to get attention, April 11th isn’t a date they picked out of thin air, they hope to steal the thunder of the Tea Parties. Pathetic.
Here in Phoenix, KFYI-AM is covering our tea-party at the capitol.
It would be nice to see some people actually waking up but it would require a certain level of logic, reason and some ability to look at the big picture overall.
Or stir up enough trouble to make us look like a bunch of violent radicals.
Michelle–agreed.
Plus, you know where Dante put the ‘flatterers’…
Protesting IS their job–they get Federal, state and local grants to “organize”. There are plenty of welfare feeders to make up the rank and file.
So we pay for our own demise. For lack of a better name we call it Hope and Change.
Yes. They’ll show up posing as radical extremist right wingers so the MSM can spotlight them as representing the whole crowd. Remember the misconstrued reporting at the Palin rally where supposedly someone in the crowd yelled “kill obama”?
They’ll probably try to start riots and trash the places to make us all look like anarchists.
Well if there is a camera any where near you know one of them want to be in front of it…which means they don’t really care about the subject it is all about getting attention. They realized that this is real and now oh no the they won’t be in the spot light no matter how badly they act out. No Shame – arrested emotional development. Someone should poll these people how many suffer from low self esteem?
I do wonder though, if any of the lefties do show up, it would be nice if we could narrow the gap and unite as Americans first and hyphenating later. Barring that, I wonder if they would get points on their mandatory “volunteer” service for the new Nationalist movement?
I have said this before but the teaparties should not represent the GOP nor the DEMs. Make it known the people are fed up with this stranglehold on DC.
Michelle – Typo alert…
I’m pretty sure ‘from’ should be ‘front.’
I will be going to my Tea Party with hand held cameras and will be taking high-quality digital video. If I catch any of those thugs at mine, we will video tape them and then video tape the entire protest for contrast. Then, off to Fox News it goes, as well as MM, HA, and PJTV. That should account for about 50 million viewers seeing the truth.
what a hoot I clicked on link to trippy’s website and there are 3 responses 1 from him 1 from MM and the 3rd must be his Mom.
putz
thetoy,
that is the point tea parties ARE welcome to any American that is fed up.
Trippy is trying to make it partisan…
This is exactly what needs to be done at every one of the tea parties! We can’t let them get away with their dirty tricks. Be ready for them and defeat them!
San Antonio is already on the look-out!
They’re getting paid with the billions of OUR MONEY BO is giving ACORN
You have to be SERIOUSLY brainwashed to be IN FAVOR OF PAYING MORE TAXES. When a government has people convinced that it deserves their money, people have gone bonkers. Oh wait. Der.
Here in PHOENIX, you have 10 ILLEGAL SYMPATHIZERS, in front of JOE ARPAIO’S office, it’s on the front page of the LOCAL RAG… 100 people in front of PLANNED PARENTHOOD… Two paragraphs small group of protesters etc… We already had a protest here… Had a large crowd turn out… The only coverage had footage or pics of a small group, probably on their way to or from… Reminds me of the great line from JAWS… “YOU WON’T ADMIT YOU HAVE A SHARK PROBLEM, UNTIL ONE SWIMS UP AND BITES YOU IN THE ASS”… Well MSM, get ready to be BITTEN IN THE ASS!!!!!
Our San Antonio Tea Party is going to be pro-Constitution, not anti anything or anyone! Not even BO.
So who says any of y’all can’t work for Huffington Post too? If they are interested in fair and unbiased reporting it should not bother them that you are providing video to PJTV and them also. After all the news doesn’t change right? Facts are facts?
a bunch of Viet vets and other combat vets will be joining me at the MN Tea party. We’ll have cameras, cell phones and will be ready in various sundry ways( ahem) should Acorn et al interfere…. NO, no violence or anything of that sort will be considered, if anything, we will endeavor to discourage it….. but we WILL be heard.
How many hundreds of those Obamabots canvassed the country to put pressure on Congress to pass his budget? Like with gun rights and amnesty, it’s actual boots on the ground that count. We’ve got’em.
I do hope that any “Anti Tea Party” types are asked how much, over and above their legally required taxes, they have voluntarily donated to the Treasury department.
After all, if they’re so enthusiastic about bigger government and higher taxes, they should take the lead and show the rest of us how it’s done. Let them put their money where their socialist mouths are.
News media in Columbia, SC is going ga-ga over 10 tents in a park aimed at protesting Gov. Sanford’s disciplined stance on the bailout pork. The ten-tent city is called “Sanfordville”. I expect the same level of coverage for the tea party!
Here and here
Their Moron got the Oval Office and the dwebes still aren’t happy. One miserable lot they are if you ask me.
“citizen journalists” ??? I thought that was oxymoronic to libs. Oh wait, it’s only conservative bloggers and talk show hosts that can’t be reporters.
If the imitators are serious, they should just show up at a planned Tea Party or organize additional Tea Parties on the 15th. Why the need for a different day? Ooops! I know why, it’s because while they may want to protest crazy gov’t spending, they do NOT want to be associated with us! They don’t realize this is not a partisan activity. Oh well..like MM said, if they’re serious, welcome to the party.
It’s because most Obama supporters drink liquor the way we drink tea.
They have to plan their own day to coincide with high wind warnings otherwise the crack fumes would overpower us that actually work.
…hiccup…HEY! I res-hiccup! resent tha-hiccup! that remark!
Lol, I registered to be a citizen journalist at the Huffpo for this event and should be receiving my “secret orders” shortly.
If I recall correctly, there was a man who said that liberals should get on Conservative blogs such as this one, claim to be Christian Conservative Republicans, and leave hateful remarks as a way to discredit us.
Could that be what they’re planning?
Probably because it would draw attention to how outnumbered they really are. Look at all the locations they would have to spread a few hundred people to. I will be attending the one in Glendale CA where I expect 2-3 thousand people.
Michelle, the Left and Bob Beckel (but I repeak myself) are dead set against us because a popular anti-tax, anti-debt, anti-Obama message could rain on their socialist party. Let it pour!
To truly destroy your enemy, make them your friend.
As much as it would be pleasing to see the collectivist protesters have their heads handed to them, how about a more subversive approach? Most of these anti-tax protestors will be brain-dead puppets or paid agitators. However, a good number will be there because their friend is there, or mother is there, etc. They will see how each side reacts to the other.
From what I’ve seen, the Tea Party crowds have been very cordial, well-behaved, positive events. The collectivist protests are inevitably negative, hate-filled screech fests.
Be polite and inviting to the collectivists. Deep down the collectivists desperately want to belong to “something”. They won’t switch sides right there, but the event will stick in their mind.
You cannot pound sense into their heads. But you can offer them a new direction. It will be up to them to take the new road, but they will see the possibility, maybe for the first time.
I noticed the smokers are not having a smoke-out. I would think that voting for Obama and having to pay $5 per pack now would cause more grief then complaining to the cash clerk. You can’t even go into a convenience store now without standing in line an extra 5 minutes for every person who buys smokes b!tch!ng about the cost. So far I have not received a response to my question posed to them:
…and I bet you voted for Obama too, right?
Wait until the have to pay for carbon usage too!
They’re too ignorant to make the connection of high cig taxes to libs. They just blame corporate greed. By definition, smokers/Obama voters are dumb as cattle when it comes to the significant issues of life.
No. They’ll be protesting that YOU don’t pay enough taxes.
The people who get prosecuted for not paying taxes are the right-wing nuts who hole up in fortified compounds clinging to their guns and Bibles. The left-wing nuts who fail to pay taxes have a “get out of jail free” card. If they get caught, they pay back taxes (but only for the past 3 years) and then go on their merry way as part of the Obama administration. They never have to pay a penalty or go to jail like you and I would have to do.
If your pay/welfare came from tax funds, wouldn’t you want everyone else to pay more taxes, too?
So, did everybody sign up as a Huff-Po citizen journalist?
I quit flying back in the ’80′s, when they decided I should produce an ID to get on a plane. Now watching films of the TSA in action, I find it incredulous that so many purported freedom lovers have so willingly traded liberty for an illuision of safety. Cripes – they practically strip search everybody. I am saddened by the number of people who willingly allow this.
I know, I know, I don’t have to fly, but it would be much preferable if the government let the airlines and the free market decide.
What signs are these people going to be carrying? “Down with Liberty and Freedom!”, “Taxes, taxes, we want taxes!”, “We want a new Stalin!”, “Government control of everything!” but, to be honest, probably, “Tax everyone but me!”
Yes we are. And some of us are going to fight back in every way we can. Enough is enough!
I have the feeling that legitimate Tea Party attendees will be able to identify the deliberate disruptors fairly easily. The media, on the other hand…
Just like the gays in Cali. The left can’t leave anything alone. If they’re not miserable, they’re nothing.
Uh…yeah! And I have suspected a few posters on these threads of being such interlopers! They are not real hard to spot.
Who watches the watchers? I think we should have some ‘citizen journalists’ of our own to keep an eye on the Huffpo infiltrators.
Very very interesting… the right is demanding transparency, responsibility, and accountability in government… the left is trying to prevent that.
Any comment on this issue from the left? OMU? LGM? Red State Septic?
{crickets chirping}
Thought so.
That reminds me of the musician Moby, who prior to the 2004 election encouraged his fans to go on chat rooms and message boards and spread the lie/smear that GW Bush had supposedly paid for an ex-girlfriend’s abortion. And he admitted it was a lie but that it was okay, in order to beat Bush.
Here’s more evidence about how widespread and deeply felt the tax revolt movement is fast becoming.
It augurs well for a third-party movement:
It also augurs well for breaking through the MSM blackout:
There are few things that can change the MSM narrative faster than a grassroots movement of angry taxpayers. It’s not about financing but boots on the ground. We outnumber the opposition and will be heard.
And, yet, I’m hearing more outrage from Dems (that just a few short months ago were so ‘overwhelmed’ by THE ONE they could hardly keep from wiggling)that the dawning of a new day shows them they’ve been had – and their children have been had – and their bank accounts have been had…..reality, sometimes it just bites you in the arse.
Oh, we’ll get a mix of both parties on the 15th. When it’s your wallet, all bets are off.
Idiots…but thanks for the help in announcing our arrival! Warm up those cameras for us!
I can’t wait.
On a separate note, I just denied the PA Republican Party a donation. I asked if my money would be used to re-elect Specter, the fundraiser did not know. I said I am no longer a republican and could not donate any money that could be used to re-elect Specter. She tried her best, I told her to thank Specter for my non-support.
So, the TEA Parties are demonstrations against Obama’s Socialist/Marxist Power-grab (Stimulus Package) as well as the outrageous increases in taxes that are both inferred and promised by the Obama Administration.
The Liberal Whack-a-Doos, going through protest withdrawls since Bush left office, has decided to form “Anti-TEA Party Protests” in response to the Conservatives in this nation finally becoming fed-up with the destruction of this nation and the Constitution since Obama took office, and the last 2+ years of Democrat Congressional control.
Considering what the TEA Parties are for, can we assume then, that the “Anti-TEA Parties” are in SUPPORT of OUTRAGEOUSLY high taxes and the Marxist/Socialist take over of this country?
Can we then assume that the shredded and see-thru veil that the Dems and Liberals have hidden behind as they all claimed not to be Socialists/Marxists will finally be removed once and for all and they will no longer be able to feebly deny what their true nature and true beliefs are?
Is it still too early to remind them that Obama will not be in the White House forever, and that Conservatives have long memories, and that once they have finally let it all come out, that the genie will not be able to be put back into the bottle?
The Liberals are drunk on their own hubris. Their lack of knowledge towards history seems to also go for their lack of understanding about the future and what their actions today will mean for the future.
And they are all convinced that Obama will go 8 years. Obama is waiting for his lame-duck years to really let both barrels go. Can anyone just imagine the destruction he and the Liberals have planned for when he no longer need worry about being re-elected?
This could go either way: less turnout for them because they’ve had mere days while we’ve had weeks/months, and yet it could draw more coverage because of an otherwise slow holiday weekend news cycle.
The risk in them usurping the press’s attention for the real rallies on 4/15 is this typical MSM response: skip the latter protests Wed. because “they were already at the last one” and it fizzled, without ever checking to discern the differences between the two.
I’m so excited !!!! I live in a small town, but we are having a TEA PARTY !! I plan to take a family sized bag with me.
As has been said, enough is enough of this insanity. If we lose our will, our money is the least of the things we will lose. So … STAY STRONG !!
I think the Sacramento one will actually do really well. The fact that Cavuto has decided to do his show live from there will give a definite boost to the cause, as well as give it even more legitimacy.
I don’t think I would call what the Libs are doing “usurping the spotlight/attention”. It would not matter what they were doing, the mere fact that it is them is more than enough for the MSM to toss all their support behind it. The MSM will go out of their way to tell how what the Libs are doing is such a great and mighty thing, while at the same time, only days later, paying lip-service to the real story and minimalizing the importance and gravity of the event.
The Libs have over 40 years of practice. They know what it takes to make their asinine statements. The Conservatives are relatively new at it, for they have always done their talking at the polls. Especially since the Conservatives generally have better things to do…like go to work, spend time with their children, be active and responsible members of society…
I look forward to seeing all my fellow Californians at the State Capital next week. Hopefully we can actually meet and get to see each other in person. At the very least, I will be posting as many pictures from the event as I can.
Obama is trying to be another Hoover again, throwing in a bit of FDR. Back in the late ’20s and early ’30s, they took a recession and managed to make it into another depression. It’s the old insane, “If we try it again, maybe we’ll get different results.” The liberals, especially youth, have no history or logic to fall back on, so they use emotion to decide their politics. The left knows that and uses it. I was the same way, back in college. Fortunately, my love of history taught me what was really going on.
HP is really promoting the meme that these are conservative, republican events spewing hate towards democrats. Let’s prove them wrong!
There is just no end to the parallels between 1932 and today, whether it be in the propaganda emanating from the White House, the policies both enacted and planned by the Obama Administration, the way the Obama Administration is dealing with the economy, etc., etc., etc.
Just how much further into repeating the horrendous disasters of the 30′s and 40′s this “President” and his minions plan on taking us has yet to be seen, but at the rate they are going, the entire world is in big trouble.
Liberals have absolutely no understanding or knowledge of history and thus they are allowing it to repeat itself in devastating ways…DAILY.
Long Live the Sons and Daughters of Liberty ! Get fired up.
No leftards, no DhimmicRATS, no RINOs.
There are more of us then them…that’s the truth of it, inside the Democrat Party “The Progressives” are the minority. Why is the Minority running the Republic? This is why Obama is the most polarizing President in History. Whoever voted for him last Fall because he WASN’T George W Bush (who wasn’t running anyway) only have themselves to blame for their current state of job loss ect…They rolled the dice and lost Obama is not a Centrist neither is Pelosi or Reid.
The U.S. is a Republic, Our Government is Majority Rule and Minority Protection.
They know they are the minority they resent the majority. This Country has been hijacked by me first people, not country first people.
Meanwhile Al Sharpton and Acorn are up to old Politics (race baiting) re Sheriff Joe Arpaio, down in Arizona. The same Factions that are anti Republic are anti immigration enforcement. This isn’t new Politics this isn’t Change. What happened to the transitional President the new era of race relations in America?

Rahm’s Evil Plan, Cont’d.
As some of you may know, Big Guy has been having issues with a group of moderate Democrats in both the House and the Senate. It’s made for some uncomfortable meetings, especially when guys like Sen. Evan Bayh, who was going to work for Big Guy in his cabinet until he got cold feet, stand up to him on the budget, or TARP or stimulus, or health care … you get the idea.
http://baracksteleprompter.blogspot.com/2009/04/rahms-evil-plan-contd.html
Actually, these “blue dogs” are a bigger headache for Toes, as he is usually the guy who has to sit through these meetings and pretend to listen to their “concerns.” But this morning, Toes seemed a bit more spritely than he usually is. When we asked about it during the senior staff meeting, it held up the newspaper and pointed to a story.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Pretty Schizophrenic reaction from the left, this has to be confusing and uncomfortable. To think that they are in a position to counter argue a position that we mostly agree on is really typical leftist confusion regarding the issues. How they try to define themselves in this process should be pretty amusing. Getting the popcorn ready….
Let’s all be sure to have our points ready to address if (hey, it could happen!)approached by ACORN, Huffpost “citizen Journalists” or even the press. Be prepared to make your case against the policies espoused by The One clearly and politely. We can only be ignored so long….Be strong, be of good cheer, be patriotic We will be heard at these Tea Parties.
