White House e-mail gaffe by “sleep-deprived” staffer is revealing
A few weeks ago, President Obama complained about being so darned tired and overwhelmed that he couldn’t deal with international matters and economic crises at the same time.
The fish snoozes from the head down. A White House staffer who apparently shares Obama’s weariness was so “sleep-deprived,” reports CNN, that he/she sent out a draft schedule with private staffers’ notes attached.
D’oh:
The White House Press Office accidentally e-mailed a draft version of President Obama’s Thursday schedule on Wednesday night that included the back-and-forth between White House staffers.
Members of the media got a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into President Obama’s schedule.
The e-mail, sent on a daily basis to inform the media of the next day’s events, at first appeared to be like any other press schedule. But at the bottom of the e-mail, there was a series of exchanges from the press team, as well as a draft of the schedule.
The first section of the schedule noted that in the morning, Obama planned to talk with homeowners who have refinanced their homes and benefited from lower mortgage payments.
One staffer, recommending changes to that line, wrote to “put more emphasis on the real people aspect of this.” …The White House says the error was made by a sleep-deprived staffer, adding that the staffer will not suffer repercussions for the mistake.
The most revealing part of the draft schedule gaffe:
In another exchange, one staffer recommended nixing a line about Obama meeting with leaders from the Veterans Service Organizations and Military Service Organizations since the president was now meeting with them before his remarks in an event closed to the media.
“Can we keep it and just change it to say before. It[']s good for us to say we are meeting with them,” another replied.
“It’s good for us to say we are meeting with them.”
If this were Bush, of course, the media would pound his administration for cynically exploiting a meeting with veterans for political expediency.
But since it’s Obama, he’s just “achieving another moment.”

There’s been too many missteps in this administration for it to be from sleep deprivation.
I thought it was only statesmanship that had gone out the window with this uncouth band of groupies to Obama. It’s appearing that they are inexperienced neophytes playing at the supporting role to the President. They haven’t a clue.
Not only do we have a pretender to the throne in Obama, we have a group of amateurs who grabbed a tiger by the tail and can’t let go.
Quick – somebody get Obama’s vault copy of his birth certificate. If it shows he’s not a natural born citizen, it may be our only chance to get rid of him early (although the thought of Joe Biden in there isn’t reassuring).
I just heard second hand that The Annointed One was asked a question by a reporter about the Somali pirates, and replied ‘No, no, we are talking about housing right now’.
I know John McCain liked to cooperate with the DWI Killer on amnesty and all (but I’ll bet the pure Democrat version of Shamnesty with a filibuster proof Senate will make McCain-Kennedy look good), and McCain would have been more of the compassionate conservative squishy crap if he had been elected, but I don’t think we’d be looking at trillion dollar yearly deficits, and I know he’d have been a little more interested in national security than Obama and Her Thighness.
This is clearly a mistake. I’m sure the staffer was referencing a meeting with the Arabs.

In reference to the Penn State Alumni link, Penn State has produced a new video in which the “veteran” stereotype has been replaced with a “white, conservative, evangelical” student. When the administrator and professor show fear of him and stereotype his personality, no one gets offended or at least admits to being offended. Now, an ivy league school would have known that from the get-go.
Penn State – the football school? They have classes? (Besides ice-cream making).

I have always been proud of my affiliation with Penn State having gotten my BS and master’s degrees there ( yes, libtards, Marines ARE smarter than you). I’ve often railed against the school’s cockamamie speech right’s crap, allowing porn on campus, and now this. I will not stop bleeding blue and white but will endeavor through my affiliation with the national and state alumni associations to make change.. It’ll be a hard fight but I can do no less. Oh and I read some of the things said about my alma mater yesterday.All I can say is….hope you have the pride in your degrees as I do… if you have any. If you didn’t go to Hillside….. you have your own crosses to bear. Ask David Horowitz. sorry a bit OT…

I think you misunderstand. The suggestion was to add the “before” as, instead of saying prospectively that the meeting was going to occur, advise that the meeting had occurred before the remarks, since it was already taking place.
This appears to be a non-issue. Let’s not go all, “Daily Kos” on the small stuff, when the big stuff will keep us on our toes for a very long time, 24/7.

As a disabled veteran, I’d refuse to speak to Obummer at any time for any reason. He’s made it plain just what he thinks of the military, how he intends to reduce our already pathetic benefits and health care…I can’t see going hat-in-hand to beg for fairness and decency from a man who has no honor, respect or credibility. Better to get denied out of hand than serve as a political backdrop and STILL get denied out of hand afterwards. Not sure, maybe it’s my self respect..dignity…or pride in the others who have served and deserve so much better yet are fated to suffer at the hands of the teleprompter in chief.
