Blessed Easter, a thank-you note, and a plug
Today I’m going to be spending some time with my family, as I hope all of you are, but I wanted to wish you all a very happy Easter and to thank all of Michelle’s readers for continuing to read and comment during Michelle’s brief hiatus. This is my last day of filling in, and thanks to all for making me feel welcome during my stint.
The biggest thank-you goes to Michelle for letting me fill in for her these past four days. I have to say, you could count on one hand (of a high school shop teacher no less) the number of people in this business who would offer the keys to their “baby” to someone they’ve never worked with before, say “have fun” and be on their way, but that’s almost literally the way it happened. Thanks to Michelle for having the confidence in me to do that. If I did at least half as good a job as she does here, I feel like I held up my end of the deal.
Thanks also to Michelle’s husband for the help on the tech end and for the words of encouragement, and to all the “invisible” tech people who make this site crank along so smoothly.
This is starting to sound like an Academy Awards acceptance speech for the world’s most boring movie, and I’m on the verge of putting Sally Field to shame, so I’ll move on to the plug portion of today’s pageant:
In 1996, our daughter Molly passed away shortly before her 4th birthday of a rare skin disorder that can have neurological complications (which unfortunately hers did). Shortly after, my wife and I, along with two other couples who had children with the disorder, started a non-profit group for kids (and adults and their families) who are afflicted with the condition known as “congenital nevus.” The group is called “Nevus Outreach, Inc.” and is dedicated to support and research funding. Since its inception, the organization has grown beyond what we imagined. The group’s website is here, so explore what we do and consider adding us to your charities list. Donations are tax deductable.
Also, starting Monday I’ll be back at work on my own blog, which is here, so feel free to stop by at any time. I also write a column that appears at WorldNetDaily every Monday, so check that out if you can, and if you like it get in touch with your local paper. My column archive is here.
I’ll probably post another wise-crack or two about the political goings-on inside-the-beltway that makes the Three Stooges look like Shakespeare in the Round, assorted vacuous celebs, or feature any breaking news here before night is out.
Thanks again and have a blessed Easter. Time for the kids to find the eggs.

Thanks and a Happy Easter to you and yours Doug …
It has been enjoyable reading and commenting on your posts these past few days …
Happy Easter all.
and thanks doug, will be watching your blog and column, you did a great job this week.
DesertLover said it best. Ditto.
Looking forward to reading more of your work.
God Bless you for establishing such a worthy charity. And Happy Easter to all.
Happy Easter to All.
Today, my wife and I are celebrating our twelfth anniversary. While we were in Goliad, TX yesterday, we had dinner and a show (i.e., chicken fried steak and entertainment by a karaoke singer).
Today, we are hoping (praying) that our younger godson will walk long enough to pick up at least one egg on his own. That would certainly be a blessing for me.
Happy Easter, and nice work here!
We are awaiting the birth of our third grandson…any day now. Gathering with 27 family members for a day of celebration and joy.
Great job, Doug! And Happy, Blessed Easter to all! ALLELUEA!!! “The grave could not hold the King!”
Christ has died.
Christ has risen.
Christ will come again.
Happy Easter to you as well, heart wrenching about your Daughter, having a girl as well I just couldn’t imagine what that was like.
Prayers with the Adenhart family as well today.
OT-
Saw previews this morning for “Zombie Strippers” lol, man-o-man do I have an excuse now if I go all Woody Harrelson on someone!
Happy Easter all….
The loss of a child is both tragic & heartbreaking. My Family went through that a year ago. Your love & faith as a Family collectively gets you through that.
The loss will always be felt but with faith, life goes on.
I have two turkey breasts in my smoker, a ham in the oven, lamb for the grill after services and a Family gathering that should fill my table with grand company. Three new grand children this year that are blessings. My oldest daughter was accepted for the Air Force Academy and we have Family here from the Czech Republic to experience America for the first time.
Easter is a series of Holy Days and a time for renewal of Faith & Family. Despite Obama’s statement, my patch of ground in rural America is both Conservative, not Socialist, Christian, not devoid of Faith and not supportive of his war on Faith, Family or Our Values that he finds irrelevant or not useful to him.
Have a Blessed Easter, gather up your faithful and renew your Faith. 2010 is coming.
I have enjoyed your posts as well, and will definitely check out your blog in the future.
Good luck and happy Easter.
A Blessed Easter to all!
The Lord is risen!!!
Hallelujah!!!
I bookmarked your page Doug.
Have A Happy & Blessed Easter
To all here, a blessed Easter. I am so thankful for my Lord.

He is risen, thus we have salvation. Simple, isn’t it?
Happy Easter to all.
The tomb is empty!
Happy Easter/Passover to all!
Thank you, Doug, for a fabulous job.
Folks, make sure to put Doug’s blog on your daily reading list!
And have a blessed Easter all.
At this time of year, Christians celebrate the ultimate sacrifice. But let us not forget the other tale of celebration. The Last Supper was a Passover Seder.
Passover is celebrated every year as homage to the tale of the Exodus, where a simple man was selected by G-d, and crafted to deliver the Jews from bondage in Egypt. It is a tale of exquisite faith and deliverance, and should not be forgotten by the Christian faithful.
In this political time, we may be re-entering a time of bondage, where we are enslaved by our Government to pay insane taxes with no real control over their expenditure. And it may get worse. Passover puts this battle into a real context, telling how, and to what measure, our forebears sacrificed themselves and an entire generation to be delivered from slavery and into the promised land.
Happy Easter everyone, and a Solemn and Reflective Passover!
Happy Easter everyone.
You’ve done a great job Doug. I put your blog in my favorites right up there with MM, Hot Air and Instapundit. Thanks Michelle for letting Doug fill in.
Hope everyone has a great and glorious day!
*Happy Easter to all!; Thanks for the great work Doug, and please say hello to your cousin Austin for us.
*I will stop by your blog Doug, and check out your columns as well.
*I have faith that future Molly’s will be saved by continued research into our now mapped DNA.
Happy Easter to all.
I am enjoying Skype(ing) with my son in Iraq.
God Bless all the men and women serving our Great Country.
It was half as good, at least. Nice job, Doug. Consider yourself marked (as in bookmarked). Happy Easter. You too, Michelle.
Oh, all right. Happy Easter to the rest of you, as well.
Happy Easter Doug and all the best to your family!
You too Michelle – and an excellent choice for a fill-in.
And all the rest of you..
Time to juice-up the ol’ waterboard to find out where this surviving 4th bastard’s thieving friends are; it’s the Delta Force’s turn for some target practice!

A miracle with a little assist from the Navy. Thank You Lord, and the U.S. Navy for delivering Capt Phillips safely. This is an Easter I will remember for a long time.
Thanks for filling in Doug. People have come to expect quality from this site and we weren’t dissapointed.
Congrats to Malkin… Evgeni, that is for winning the NHL scoring title (the name caught my attention scanning the sports pages).
Thanks to the U.S. Navy and Captain Phillips for representing the best in America.
Happy Easter.
Thanks all! Much appreciated.
