Galtslist.com

Our great friend Tennyson Hayes has started a new blog and website at Galtslist.com.

You’ll remember that Tennyson did the hilarious Chuck “Let them eat pork” Schumer photoshop last month that has popped up at some of the Tea Party protests. (Tennyson is also the mastermind behind SNOBama.) In addition to his new classified ad service for free-marketeers, Tennyson has put some of his other designs up for sale — demonstrating that the stimulus actually did stimulate something: Anti-pork and anti-stimulus online gear!

Smile, Chuckie!

I appreciate the pictures but not including Atlas Shrugged in his list of places left a sour taste in my mouth. Good luck, and I mean it sincerely since we share many values. Pam is the original blogger to promote the John Galt image and really should be given credit.

Just saw the blog, and I like what I saw. I will be attending a Tea Party in Fort Wayne, IN, but it’ll be on Apr. 18th. There are Tea Parties planned for the 15th at Huntington and Elkhart, and I plan on attending either one; just don’t know which one yet.

Thanks a million for the link, MM. Wow!

And thanks to those who have registered and posted comments. I guess I’m a real blogger now.

As for the links and who’s there and who isn’t – I’m not trying to cover the last 50 years of political history. Far be it from me to deny credit where it’s due but I didn’t get the idea for this from a blog named Atlas Shrugs or Shrugged or any variation thereof.

I was actually significantly inspired by Dr. Helen, and Michelle Malkin and HotAir and Instapundit and Ace and JammieWearingFool and a whole bunch of other smart people in the blogosphere, not just to create a site on the Galt theme but to do something, anything at all to speak out about what I don’t like about our current government.

    No slights intended. Thanks again!

The website is cool – except for the bromide – uh, disclaimer – about the different interpretations of Galt, so just go with Galt means to you. Blech.

Galt, Smalt. The concept of Galt is fun to think about, but Ayn Rand the person was an Objectivist for everyone but herself. Read Intellectual Morons by Daniel J. Flynn, there is a whole chapter on Rand and it ain’t pretty.

I just sent this e-mail out to everyone in my address book…

Don’t forget that Wednesday is tax day…and also the day for the Tea Party demonstrations all over the country. So far, there are over 500 of them scheduled! And many are expected to bring 10’s of thousands of people! There will be coverage most of the day and all evening on FOX News, starting with Neil Cuevuto, then Glenn Beck (who will be live from the Alamo!) and into the evening with O’Reilly, Hannity and ending with Greta Van Susteren at 9:00. Be sure to watch.

The other “news” channels have indicated they probably won’t even cover these huge demonstrations of our frustration with the over-spending, over-taxing government corruptocrats (which, by the way covers both democrats AND republicans, in case you mistakenly think this is a one-party issue!). The far-left wing of the dem party has said over and over that these little “parties” are ridiculous and serve no purpose. They are afraid…very afraid. The grass roots groundswell is ON, and they don’t like it one bit. Big government is not listening to their citizens…You know, the ones who THEY work FOR??

I heard a sound bite the other day from Chuck Schumer…you know, the creep in congress who said the conservatives are merely the “chattering class”? This time he said (with a smile), “The old traditional values in this country are dead”. He knows he is being recorded when he says these things…he just doesn’t care. Power corrupts!!

Don’t look for any decent coverage of these gatherings on anything but FOX News. I think the media are making a big mistake and shows their true colors when they don’t cover real news stories like this one. Their loss, as their ratings plummet to new lows.

For those who can’t be there in person, we are asked to honk our car horns three times at noon, local time on Wednesday in support of these rallys! Do it! It will be like you are participating in some small way.

Happy ain’t no liberal troll, just commenting on the surprising headline “Going Galt: What it means is up to you,” found after clicking the ‘about us’ tab on the website mentioned above. That whole paragraph seems rather relativist, odd for a website based, at least in part, upon a character who reflects the objectivist teachings of the author.

(In other words, perhaps the website coordinator should rethink that paragraph’s necessity. Do people really need to be told to interpret things for themselves?)

I was also commenting on the cult of personality hype behind Ayn Rand even after her death. However, her books, her critics, and websites named after her characters are interesting to read.

Be careful what you wish for, LGM.

It may appeal to a leftist to live in a world without ‘right-wingers,’ but it just happens that the ‘greedy’ conservatives are often the ones that produce real jobs as a result of their own ‘greed’ in trying to build profitable companies.

No, I’m not saying that no liberal has ever built a successful enterprise, but look past the labels. The history of the United States is filled with individuals building successful enterprises, not acedemic libs out to ’spread the tax wealth around.’ The traits displayed by the pioneers in buisiness that built this country are not liberal traits.

lgm: You seem to mistake the activities of Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, Chucky Schumer, etc, etc, with “thoughtfulness” and actual “analysis” when, in fact, they are merely engaging in stroking their own egos by passing laws to get them re-elected, instead of actually doing good for this country.

Paralysis at this point in time would actually be a welcome relief from the profligate government spending, needless meddling in business matters and unbridled taxation we are experiencing.

We can always count on you to fulfill the role of useless idiot on this site.

A week without government-left wing profs-the touchy feely weenies? Brings joy to me hard little heart it do. Two weeks would even be better–find out just who we do not need! Do it long enough and some of the touchy feely weenies might actually have to get real jobs! Professor Blow Smoke would be in big trouble. Chief Lot of Nonsense says so.

Happy…I am at the older end of the boomers, but still considered in that category! As for Denver…unfortunately, I live a ways away from Denver…Minneapolis to be exact. We do have relatives in Denver and get there occasionally. I love your mountains!
