Tea Party Smear Watch: The Race Card

By Michelle Malkin  •  April 13, 2009 01:23 PM

There’s a famous quotation often attributed to Gandhi that goes like this: “First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win.” After “then they ridicule you” I would add:

“Then they smear you.”

As I warned last week, the smear campaign against the Tea Party movement has swung into full gear. Desperate always reaps stupid, as Dave Ramsey says. Desperate Tea Party bashers have stupidly lurched from “It’s a CNBC conspiracy” to “It’s a Fox News conspiracy” without batting an eye.

On Fox News, smear merchant Geraldo Rivera bashed the Tea Party movement because he’s “never seen any people of color” at the protests — a line of attack being plied on left-wing blogs (and even by a purported conservative blog). Tea Party organizer and Top Conservatives on Twitter Michael P. Leahy politely laid the smack down on Geraldo (watch here). But it’s not going to stop the reality-challenged Rivera from repeating the attack. (Psst, Geraldo: Meet Lloyd Marcus).

Of course, any people of color Geraldo and his bean-counters do admit to seeing they will dismiss as white.

And then there’s this typical e-mail I got this morning from “sammygeo1@yahoo.com:”

Michelle Malkin, you look like a damn fool. The only Jap at those tea parties. Go somewhere and sit your stupid ass down.

It’s telling how bitterly the self-proclaimed post-racialists keep fixating on the race of Tea Party protesters as some sort of Q.E.D. indictment of the protests.

Do they really want to play that game? Shall we start fixating on the lack of diversity at ACORN foreclosure mob protests?

Shamnesty demonstrations?

Lily-white-dominated Hollywood liberal fund-raisers or MSM boards of directors?

No, we shall not. The only demographic breakdown we shall mention is the one showing that the Left’s protests this year have drawn far more journalists and photographers than actual protesters.

There are 2 themes already developing. First the tea parties received huge amount of corporate sponsorship. From whom they can’t tell us but they insist that we trust them because they saw it on a blog and the White House told them on a conference call.
Second the race card. They always play the race card though. I give up even trying to fight them on this one. It doesn’t matter how many times they are proven wrong or somebody points out the hypocricy, especially in light of this recent election, the narrative and the story stay the same.

They’re not intended to be a solution – they’re just a starting point. Organization first, then we get into the operational part. Don’t expect us to be storming the Bastille anytime soon. We’re conservatives. We believe in ousting them legally, to the maximum extent possible.

Then a true grassroots movement emerges and all they can talk about is how racist it must be or how it’s all a production of a TV news channel or a PAC or something somewhere.

I’m not sure we need to worry about Geraldo. This is the same bozo who concocted a story about having a wild affair with tennis star Chris Evert. The story was pure unadulterated hogwash. Chris Evert said she never had any romantic interest in Rivera and never even dated him, let alone get swept away in Geraldo’s manly arms. Geraldo also bragged in his book that wife of Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau fell madly in love with him and also that he stole away Marion Javits from US Senator Jacob Javits. With a braggart and blowhard like Geraldo Rivera, why should anyone worry about what he thinks about anything? BTW,, did anyone see Geraldo’s interview with William Shatner? When Captain Kirk aka Bill Shatner said “Geraldo, you and I are a couple of white guys”, Geraldo jumped off his seat and said “I’m a brown guy”. Actually Geraldo looks like any other white guy in late middle age. Not that there is anything wrong with that (to quote a famous Seinfeld episode).

Tea Baggers don’t have to worry about the race card, we have to worry about the Tea Baggers who have been sending out automated phone calls(which are illegal in my state)with recorded messages reminding us to participate. I have filed a complaint with the FCC and have given them the “home base” number. 512-646-1432 is the number and McDonald Memo is the info from caller ID. If you get these illegal, automated, recorded messages, I hope you will report to the FCC as well.

If the only reason Geraldo Rivera is bashing the Tea Parties is because he hasn’t seen any people of color it’s not because they are not invited. All U.S. citizens and not are invited to the tea parties and welcome as long as they behave themselves, and if as I said the only reason to bash the tea parties is because of a lack of color in Geraldo eyes then he needs to open them and see the real reason for the tea parties.

I’m afraid it will always be an uphill struggle for us to get the truth out. The only chance we have is if some fair-minded moderates start to demand more balance from the MSM. Of course, any moderate who does that will end up being labeled a “neo-con” by the lefty press.

On Fox News, smear merchant Geraldo Rivera bashed the Tea Party movement because he’s “never seen any people of color” at the protests

White is the blending of all colors and is a color.

    Explanation:
Light appears colorless or white. Sunlight is white light that is composed of all the colors of the spectrum. A rainbow is proof. You can’t see the colors of sunlight except when atmospheric conditions bend the light rays and create a rainbow. You can also use a prism to demonstrate this.

Fact: The sum of all the colors of light add up to white.

    This is additive color theory.

Therefore, either Geraldo Rivera Revolver is a liar or a scientific-illiterate-idiot.

I say Geraldo Rivera Revolver is probably both. Silly boy!

IF it were true that minorities, read as BLACKS and sometimes hispanics, CUZ asians don’t count according to racist liberal agitators, were under-represented at the “Tea parties” which are open to all, it would only mean that it would because the minorities were either: too stupid; too greedy (feeding off of tax dollars); so uneducated they have no idea of what is happening or what the Tea Party was; or so Fing racist that they simply dismiss it as part of “white” history. So Word to Geraldo’s Mother-ya’ll is slaves to white liberals an instead of pickin cotton ya’ll is pickin on conservatives. Oh and Geraldo is sooooo not happening.

Interesting on how the liberals actually believe that they aren’t racist. Completely and totally ignorant of reality they stumble through life spouting hate and racism then blame it on conservatives.

Of course they also believe that conservativeism = fascism yet when they gain power their fascist bull-in-a-china-shop rampage against our civil liberties would make Stalin nod in approval.

You’re handling it well Michelle, you’ve obviously learned the first rule when dealing with liberals: “You can’t fix stupid.”
