Live Tea Party Twitter feeds/open thread

By Michelle Malkin  •  April 15, 2009 01:44 PM

Hey, rightwing extremists: Just landed in Sacto. It’s sunny and warm. Perfect day for a radical tea party.

I’ve received tons of email from folks who aren’t able to attend a tea party today because they have to, you know, work to pay for all the bailouts, non-stimulating stimuli packages, bloated budgets, etc. Many of you are hanging tea bags from your rearview mirrors, putting up yard signs, etc. Send photos and I’ll post after I get settled at the Sacto event.

For now, here’s a widget to keep you up to date on the #teaparty Twitter feed and a tab for my own feed. I’ll post more soon.

As always, engage in rightwing extremist Internet chatter amongst yourselves!

Just got back from the Carson City, NV party.

GREAT function! I’m only guessing, but maybe 2000 to 4000 people depending on time between 10 AM and 1 PM. In front of state legislature building, on both sides of the street, on the lawns, cars honking like crazy, loud truck horns – beautiful!!

Dean Heller and Sharron Angle gave brief talks, but most of all, everyone was elated at just sharing similar thoughts about our out-of-control government spending.

Great signs, friendly dogs, excited children – what a fantastic show of pride in country!

Went to the event in Hartford. Crowd estimated at 3-4,000. Great speakers. Among them talk show hosts from two of the local radio stations.

Let me guess what all the parties have in common. No arrests. No litter left behind. The people these events are attracting have integrity and personal responsibility which is why we don’t want to be dependent on government.

I haven’t watched CNN in years. Take a look at this arrogant, biased “journalist” reporting on the Tea Party from Chicago. Are all CNN “journalists” this “fair and balanced?”

    What a crock!

(The site is getting a link from Drudge so it is very slow in loading. They are probably getting slammed with traffic.)

A decent HS journalism student with a C average could outdo Susan Rosen. She was looking for a fight, not a story, and she does not have a clue how to conduct a live interview.

Its just part of the reason CNN is in the toilet and Fox is doing better.

I’ve never SEEN such a big crowd-I’m a former member of Chicago Protest Warrior-ever!
    My husband was guessing 3000+.
I took photos and am hoping to have them uploaded later this eve.

Springfield, MO Tea Party: conservative estimate 300 people, crowd was growing bigger as I left.

I saw no counter protest, but many vehicles honking and waving support. Most telling, nearly every business vehicle I saw, including large delivery trucks, showed support, several holding down the horn the entire city block being used for the gathering.

All in all, a good turnout for a normally inactive area.

I drove 2 hours to attend the Des Moines Iowa tea party. We had a great turnout – over 2000. Everyone was well-behaved, a great contrast to “other” protests I’ve seen.

Denver was great. Super weather. No big-name speakers, but lots of good people, and many younger than I expected. I think the counter-protesters were crestfallen that their juvenile baiting had no effect.

I was really hoping to see someone on Fox say with their numerous feeds, Where in our foundering fathers does it give the dc bunch and bho the authority to take from a private business and give to those who don’t pay taxes. Our founding Fathers had a tiny brain cell to see that ‘might’ happen. We taxpayers are going to sol for numerous years. Gotta say, God bless America.

I was in Denver with my husband, three young children, and mom and holding up my ferret sign. Really great turnout and dynamic speakers. Next phase is to educate the constituents regarding the government our Founding Fathers established. Education and protest. We will prevail!

Liberals are scared that their opposition may be on the move. Look at their actions. You can see and smell the fear. They toiled so long and so hard to paint conservatives as hate mongers and themselves as loving kind humanists, even though they used hate speech and overt racism to do it.

Now it is all unraveling and they know it. If this was the end of it they could rest easy, but this is the tip of the iceberg. This movement has the promise of sweeping clean the Congress in the next elections and moving right on through the White House and Obamas insane economic policies of tax & spend. And since history has proven that tax and spend does not work, the economy will continue to be sluggish and the backlash will continue to grow.

Heres a hint Obama, want to grow the economy? Cut taxes. Very simple. Of course, you won’t be able to buy your votes that way and that is more important to you than a functioning economy.

They thought they had the market cornered and now they are losing it and they are scared. The people speak!

Just got back from the Memphis Tea Party. The early estimates I heard were between 2000 – 2500. It was very well organized and there didn’t appear to be any party crashers. It was awesome!

Just got back from the Sugar Land, TX Tea Party. Wanted to stay for the whole thing but the crowd was a bit much for my massively introverted self and I could barely hear the speaker from the periphery of the crowd so I decided once I had some good pictures to come on home. I’m happy to report there were a lot more people than I was expecting. I should have some pictures up by tomorrow morning.

The Memphis Tea Party was a wonder event and the best thing is what didn’t occured; no Memphis Police or Blue Crush were there for crowd control.

The only thing I saw that was closely related to a counter protest were four passing motorists that passed by giving the single finger salute (aka the bird) with some profanities. The best thing is that our protestors were the classiest and gave a sincere friendly wave with a :)

BTW-I was the guy in kilt with Gadsten Flag.
