Where are the adults at University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill?
The free-speech squelchers at UNC-Chapel Hill threw a temper tantrum during Tom Tancredo’s speech.
I can hardly stomach watching the videos. And I am very grateful that Tancredo was not harmed.
We’ve seen it so many times before: Administration officials and faculty who refuse to act like adults on campus. They are worse than AWOL. They have encouraged this thug behavior for years. Mob rule has dominated when pro-immigration enforcement speakers dare to speak at America’s universities:
Why would you donate to these schools? Why would you send your children there?
Does anyone at UNC-Chapel Hill who countenanced this latest freak show have any shame?

Tancredo was very calm during his speech.
The wackos were off to the side with their banner.
Apparently they were not getting enough attention and rushed the stage.
So long as UNC tolerates that behavior it will continue.
Can’t he sue them for violating his First Amendment rights?
Couldn’t see the videos, though I can imagine. Absolutely ridiculous behaviour. How about being tolerant of others?
The “adults” in academia left long ago. Now the thugs and the morons are running the institutions. When they’re not dealing in criminal behavior, they’re often good for a laugh, but useless in providing a good education.
We need a Corps of Conservative Volunteer Protection force for the conservatives to pull from, when that speaker is at one of our many Communist Re-education Camps.
Could this be a certified Qualifying possibility for the so Called, “Mandatory Volunteer” service Adolph Obama is wanting to create??
See? Now that’s a protest!
Whoops, channellng James Wolcott for a second there.
Rhetorical here, I know, but sadly there are millions of parents who do have to answer these questions.
In a normal world these little brats would be placed on disciplinary probation or even suspension for a semester for disrupting a University sponsored event. Of course, that would require a genuine commitment to diversity of thought and having adults in charge.
Why would you donate to these schools? Why would you send your children there?
Sadly, because many of their parents mirror the infantile attitudes of these measly little attention-junkies, having ne
educatedindoctrinated by the same legion of Marxist dirtbag profs…They’re all trying to nail their students.
Of course, if a conservative or anti-illegal immigration student group had posted a flyer criticizing the actions of the pro-illegal immigrations protesters, they’d be expelled for “hate speech.”
It is not an expression of your right to Free Speech to prevent someone else from expressing their opinion.
Sadly if conservative students started doing this to liberal speakers the left would just say it happens on both sides.
Occurances of a bad action:
Liberals 90%
Conservatives 10%
Liberals would call that equal.
This is the liberal result of not spanking your kids or correcting them in front of everyone in the checkout line at Wal-Mart.
When my oldest daughter was 5, I put her under my arm like a piece of luggage and pulled her out of a store as she kicked and screamed like a banshee. She wanted to keep looking at toys and was making a power play. It was such a scene that I was lucky I didnt get arrested for kidnapping because everyone should had intervened on her part.
We had very few incidents after that day and none that were ever that dramatic again. Shes getting married soon so I cant wait for her to get her paybacks. heheeheh
Meanwhile, John Ziegler gets arrested at Katie Couric event at USC
Those, ladies and gentlemen, were the real hate mongers. Pathetic.
It’s interesting that the protestors were chanting “No Dialogue With Hate”.
Isn’t that what the same people also want the US to do with Iran and Israel to do with Hamas?
When it’s convenient for the left, they support a dialogue with hate. When it’s not convenient for the left, they don’t.
Must be nice to be able to have it both ways.
Come on! Everyone here knows that conservatives don’t have First Amendment rights. The left has basically been saying that the past few weeks in the run up to the Tea Party protests, and every time a conservative speaks on campus…

The protestor will be placed on Double Secret Probation. It will be so secret that they won’t get in trouble if they misbehave again.
the left at its best acting normal like the asses they are, and that’s when their educated. liberals have such low standards that when they reach gutter level they are always proud of themselves.
Someone should identify that twerp female in the blue shirt holding the sign and drag her background through the mud!
Shut up, they explained.
For me, I’ve seen the gamut of brilliance to idiocy at the 3 or 4 universities I’ve attended.
Some of the dumbest people I’ve ever met have a college degree or two.
Some of the smartest people I’ve ever met have no formal higher education at all.
What is telling and reassuring, is that not only did campus security appeared rather quickly and gently escorted the protesters away, but also that the majority of the crowd applauded upon removal of the interrupters.
The public knows wrong from right on this issue, and I’ll trust Mr. Tancredo to expose the facts and help craft better overall immigration policy in America’s best interest.
The people who have to repeat that they are fr freedom, against hate, etc. are really the ones who oppose it all. They also have the maturity of a, well, something.
The virus that started at such institutions as San Francisco State, Berkeley, Columbia, NYCU, UCLA, Hawaii, and others has now spread to places like Oklahoma, Baylor, UNC-Chapel Hill, Iowa St., etc.
Even at this late point in my life, if I were to finally try and get a degree, I would go to a private college. At least the commies aren’t supported by my tax dollars.
And that folks, is called “Projection 101″ and should be shown in every psych class in all Universities…
“No dialog with hate.” ???
Sense of irony? Nope…
Sense of shame? Nope…
Leftism is a psychological illness.
For those who are trying to discover the reason for the culture we have, especially in our universities, here’s the “why”:
“By psychopolitics our chief goals are effectively carried forward. To produce a maximum of chaos in the culture of the enemy is our first most important step. Our fruits are grown in chaos, distrust, economic depression and scientific turmoil. … With it you can erase our enemies as insects… Use the courts, use the judges, use the Constitution of the country, use its medical societies and its laws to further our ends. … And bring to Earth, through Communism, the greatest peace Man has ever known.” ~ Lavrenti Beria, Lenin University, in a 1933 address to a group of American/Marxist Psychology Students
“To prepare society for psychological control, the very soul of the individual must be destroyed in its youth by disturbing it with evil via forced schooling and media.” ~ György Lukács
“Socialism is precisely the religion that must overwhelm Christianity. … In the new order, Socialism will triumph by first capturing the culture via infiltration of schools, universities, churches and the media by transforming the consciousness of society.” ~ Antonio Gramsci
“We are obliged… to make amusement a weapon of collective education. The cinema competes with the church. This rivalry may become fatal for the church. The cinema liberates you from the need of crossing the church door. Here is an instrument we must secure at all costs.” ~ Severneya Pravda
was that lgm in the light blue t-shirt?
if you watched the video of John Ziegler being harassed on an public campus, wrongly stated by one of the harassers it was private property…are not state funded schools public property, paid for by tax paying citizens, as opposed to spoiled children going to college on their parents dime or at the giverments entitlement?
By the way, get use to the color of the uniforms, coming your way soon.
spoiled, selfish, fascist, little bastards at UNC, as they whine “free speech for me, but not for thee”. Their parents gotta be proud, sad part is, they probably are.
When the libs accuse you of doing or being something, no matter what, you can bet they are already doing it.
I was wondering the same thing, is USC considered public or private property and if they give free in state tuition to illegal aliens where does that money come from?
I had to smile, I’ve gone through that very same scenario many times with my four. It pays off though, my children know how to behave appropriately now. And you’re right, the behavior on display there at UNC is what you get for not teaching your children limits.
They used to call Chapel Hill “Whiskey Hill” back in the ’20s and ’30s. Then it became “Hippy Hill” in the ’60s and ’70s. Now I guess it will become “Denial of Free Speech” Hill…
When I was in college at Oklahoma State University from ‘90-’96, if there was a speaker with whom I disagreed, then I just didn’t go to see them. Timothy “Tune In, Turn On, Drop Out” Leary spoke there. I just avoided him. If I was required to attend, such as once some homosexuals spoke in one of my classes, then I heard them out, and asked them questions.
But Looney Leftwing Liberals feel as if they have the right to resort to anarchy to stop someone with whom they disagree.
Disgusting display of hate on the part of these people. Hope TT got to keep his stipend.
Oops, its not under the University of California umbrella. I think John knew that, which is why he never made the argument on the video that it was a public sidewalk. I kept waiting for him to say it…
Whatever happened to “Do your own thing”? Or, “Different strokes for different folks”? Or, “Live and let live”? I need to do a little research, but am I wrong in thinking that this generation of college students are more intolerant than their parents were in the 60s?
The mental midgets strike again. I think it is a pure symbol of the entitlement generation. Their parents coddled them so much and these kids were probably led to believe they had no faults.
Mommy and Daddy then shipped them off to college hoping they’d get the insatiable affirmation they desire. This is purely a result of them being insignificant and getting no attention for anything they do. They probably can’t articualte a cogent, rational argument short of holding a banner which they probably do not understand.
I will go so far to liken them to the poor terrorists who blindly follow without a clear thought of their own because they only learn by rote and not by thinking analytically for themselves.
Just had to fix it.
I’ve seen and read about this cr@p since the mid60s, when I was in junior-high school. (I don’t call it “middle school”. Back then, “middle school” referred to grades 4 through 6.)
Where were the adults at Georgetown University and where will they be at Notre Dame?
If they were students, they should have been arrested by campus police and it duly recorded on their permanent records. Try getting a job in private industry with that one hanging on you. If they were not they should still have been arrested for disruption to authorized campus activities. I would love to see all alumni write letters to the dean and explain the facts of life about how no one is obligated to donate money to their old alma mater.
I work at a large, rather liberal university. Sad to say that most students here would do the same things as those at UNC-Chapel Hill. They are for free speech as long as you agree with them.
I now thank my mother for the beatings and slaps. She’s so evil she laughs.
That woman should’ve gone to jail, but I’ll be if she didn’t prepare me for a tough world.
A good example of why David Horowitz should be Secretary of Education…
I get all warm and tingly thinking about that
(I have a few profs I owe some serious payback!)
Where are the adults at University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill? Not in the last fifty years; North Carolina figured out it was cheaper to build a University than a mental hospital or jail–keeps them out of the work force too.
I see this as clash of two leftists jerks because Tancredo is no conservative…
Can Mr. Tancredo explain why he voted YES when the TARP bill was introduced in House just before he retired? He voted yes both the times it was introduced in house.
Can Mr. Tancredo explain why he never even introduced his OVERDUE immigration bill in house after talking so much about it?
He is worse than a RINO…He is a barking dog jackass fit for nothing.
Watch the video folks if you haven’t. This is the USSA. The picture of Walter Cronkite behind him is great – it looks exactly like Big Brother. Katie Couric was inside in the Pike Position receiving her accolades I presume.
USC beclowns themselves…
Chap, you’re a lawyer, by what right can USC security physically turn off his cameras?
I’m talking to young college students and many are wondering if/when they can ever finish – and, if it’s worth it? Granted, none of these young people are trust fund babies, but are seriously considering dropping out and trying to find employment rather than saddle their folks with a bill neither they nor their parents can pay off. If the economy continues to slide perhaps some of our educated idiots on campuses like UNC/Chapel Hill, Berkeley, USC, and other schools will get a taste of what these kids are now facing all over the country.
They do have to resort to anarchy as it is the basic tool of the left (right out of the anarchist handbook) to prevent their opposition to be heard by every means at hand, since the left evidently finds it difficult to persuade and argue (as in debate) with with reason and logic.
Leftist Academia can’t have impressionable minds be exposed to an alternative point of view. It could completly ruin academia’s scheme of indoctrination of our youth. Students might actually learn to think for themselves and come to believe what they are learning at our universities could be wrong. Simply can’t have that.
Guess they must have brought in some of the ‘faculty’ from DFuke, those who still are over the lacrosse team flap.
What is the point in having laws when one side can just choose to ignore them at will – with the full approval of the same government agents tasked to enforce them? Ala carte law and regulation… Wild whacky stuff…
Keep in mind that the open borders scofflaws need the tens of millions of illegals to pay into the SS system, to off-set the 40MM potential taxpayers killed by their revered abortion industry. Got to pay for their retirement somehow. Speaking of “somehow”, somehow I doubt these drones think that far ahead.

LOL–now it’s called ‘Benny Hill’. Without the sped-up music.
A preview of our nation’s future if we fail to stop this 3rd world takeover of our country. And I refer to both legal and illegal immigration. Let these low lives have their way with amnesty and you can all but write the obituary for the prosperity we have enjoyed for the past 60 years. We will become just another 3rd world sh**hole, complete with anarchy, chaos, and a failing economy straddled with a large uneducated population sucking off the gov’t teat.
Actually, Benny Hill did not use music that was sped up. The name of the song was Yakkety Sax and was actually written and played that way. The film was sped up but not the music … and at least he was funny.
The fact that this type of activity is not only allowed but seemingly encouraged (through the lack of any disciplinary actions) on a campus of (supposedly) higher
educationindoctrination is frightening at best.Where were the adults indeed. Any students interrupting a guest speaker should be suspended for a semester (first offense) and expelled on the second.
Note to the morons who held up the sign…there are illegal aliens in this country. If you don’t like the law, then hold your banners up to your own Congressman and don’t disrespect a guest.
What in the hell are they teaching our kids?
I went to the Daily Tar Heel and read comments from readers and believe me, the tone was definitely against the behavior of the few. Most of the people I know who attended UNC are ashamed of the unruly and uncivil students and are calling for discipline of the professor who encouraged the demonstration.
While UNC is definitely liberal, most of the students and faculty do respect the right to free speech and will stand up for it. Now, we will see if they are just parrotting a popular position or if they are sincere about their commitment to freedom of speech.
I live in Tancredo country and people here love him. He is a very humble person with a great sense of self-deprecating humor. Tancredo has bravely said what many do not want to hear and he is willingly villified for it. You could do your own homework and read his website for answers to your loaded questions, but he has explained why he voted for TARP – something had to be done quickly – and his other bill didn’t have enough support.
FYI: University of Southern California (USC) is a private university and Ziegler was on private property. At least it was when I went there. Campus security had every right to ask him to leave and arrrest him when he didn’t.
Idiots abound…
Your standard issue Obama supporters folks. Ignorance is bliss.
Unfortunately, not enough parents have the courage to stand up to society and the threat of incarceration and truly discipline their children, which is actually commanded by God Almighty as stated in the Bible. I guess it’s just one more way to trample on our 1st amendment rights.
That girl in the video must have never had a good a** busting. If this were my child, I’d be embarrassed.
I couldn’t help notice as the WHITE liberal protesters chanted and yelled “racist” the “people of color” in the audience, sitting quietly waiting to hear the congressman, looking around at the white liberal protesters in disbelief.
If conservatives really want to stop this sort of childishness, Tancredo and the Minutemen should sue the University for staggering amounts of money.
Sue for civil rights violations, sue for emotional damages, they can claim to have felt their safety was in danger.
And sue for several million dollars.
No, I’m not in favor of this type of litigation, but it seems to be the only language university leftists understand.
Take young, naive people, fill them full of emotion, and send them out to do your bidding. It’s been the liberal strategy for years. They can’t use logic, only emotion to show their opinions. Try to reason with them, and they use the “party line”, get angry and rant. Such tactics have been used throughout history, recently the Red Guard in China, and the Hitler Youth of Germany.
the irony is that these kids parents were the peacenik hippies of the 60s/70s who were screaming “facism” and chaining themselves to the colleges because the college wouldn’t give them a forum to voice anarchy and global karma fulfillment. now the children won’t give a forum to anyone not espousing the agenda of the radical left. let’s see, didn’t bill ayers bomb universities because they were just a puppet for the man? hmmmm.
Tancredo was a principled congressman and a genuine GOP presidential candidate. From this video, you would think he was Bill Ayers. What has the world come to? Well, the rest of the world has come to the USA.
So let out all the people in the prisons. They are not illegal either…
Wait, is this a trick question? Adults on university campuses?
You have to be nuts to send your kids to a college like this. I wouldn’t send my kid there if they paid me to. What spectacle!
Follow a stupid kid home someone stupid opens the door
That American Idol reject in the blue shirt needs a muzzle.
And did that dude say “this represents racist white male…”? Seriously? The race card?
So, let’s recap:
1) Shout down and be uncivilized: check.
2) Chanting some rambling phrase over and over again: check.
3) Race card: check.
4) White-male bashing: check.
With the free space in the middle, I got a BINGO!
Another left-wing state of mind: Free speech is for everyone except those who dare to speak in opposition to left wing beliefs.
No intellectual debate. Simply mob rule. The only thing missing are the jackboots and billy-clubs.
The first amendment is dead to these thugs.
The faculty of UNC is fully behind this mindlessness. They are indoctrinating a generation of no-thought brutes, just like in 90% of all the “institutions of higher learning.”
