I went out this morning to a legislative forum held by both by my state senator and representative as well as later an ice cream meet and greet with a Senatorial candidate. Neither was well attended, and liberals outnumbered conservatives at the forum (in KS). We gripe about what is going on in this country, but until we step up and take an active role in our government everyday at the local, state, and federal level nothing is going to change.

I hear you husker but will warn you about being too judgmental. Conservatives don’t want government to be the be all and end all of our lives. To get all excited about government meet and greats is contrary to our values. I am spending time with my wife and daughters today. IF there was such a political gathering around my area today I’d not be attending. Basically you are expecting people to go to things to tell the folks at those “things” to stop having those “things”.

    I hope that makes sense.

I think one of the good things about tea parties is that they provide an event where conservatives can contribute to the political process, even though admittedly it is against our nature to be consumed with political involvement. We have to find a compromise, something that works for us! Giving up in despair is not an option.

I thought I would share the report from the organizers of the Everett, WA tea-party:

Thanks everyone so much for a Great turnout.   . . .  the weather was great, the speakers were captivating and all in all it was a tremendous success for a bunch of “Right Wing Extremist” and a movement in its infancy.

Our group donated nearly 300 pounds of food to the Volunteers of America of Western Washington for “one of there largest donations in quite a while” and over 100 pounds of Pet food that was gratefully accepted at the Animal Shelter.  The local police commented that they were pleasantly suprised by our behavior and as I expected, clean up was unneccessary.  Thank You.

[Editor's note: my question is what on earth did they expect or were told? "...pleasantly surprised by our behavior" indeed. Maybe we need to live up to our reputation.]

. . . We were a gathering of vastly different backgrounds, ideologies and agendas but we were all there for the same reason, The Love of Country.  May we remain United as a force, despite what differences we may have, to aid our sickened Nation.  For the Good of All.”

May the Force remain with us. :)

I guess he will not get the award for 2009.

WASHINGTON. – U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., exercised fiscal responsibility in 2008 according to a report card issued by the National Taxpayers Union. The report gauged lawmakers’ commitment to reduce spending, taxes, debt and regulation and ranked Enzi at the top of Congress with an ‘A’ grade.

It currently has more than 50 sponsors from both sides of the aisle, but my Rep isn’t on it.

While out mowing the grass, I pondered the following:
    1. After all of these Tea Parties, will “conservatives” actually vote on principle in the next elections vice sheepishly voting for anyone with an “R” next to his/her name?
    2. When will “conservatives”, especially Christians, pull their kids out of Caesar’s school system?
    3. When will the local church abandon its heretical doctrine of decisionism (e.g. “repeat this little prayer after me and you’re good” vs. the doctrines of sanctification and regeneration)?

Elected officials are truly shameless. What haven’t they taxed yet? If they spent as much time and effort in trying to figure out what spending to eliminate, rather than on how to screw the American people even more, maybe there would be hope (for some of them.)

I would ask Enzi, and cohorts, why they think people buy over the internet in the first place? Speaking for myself, when I can find an item cheaper, including shipping charges, with no sales tax added, I buy it online if I need it.

Congress has done a good job destroying many facets of our economy already, and now they want to destroy online ‘niche’ businesses. Brilliant!

While out mowing the grass, I pondered the following:
    1. After all of these Tea Parties, will “conservatives” actually vote on principle in the next elections vice sheepishly voting for anyone with an “R” next to his/her name?

I am a member of the Constitution Party and will be working to elect fine leaders from the ground up. Principle first.

    2. When will “conservatives”, especially Christians, pull their kids out of Caesar’s school system?

My three children will never see the inside of a public school. We are a new homeschool family. My oldest will be in K this fall.

    3. When will the local church abandon its heretical doctrine of decisionism (e.g. “repeat this little prayer after me and you’re good” vs. the doctrines of sanctification and regeneration)?

I am attending a Presbyterian Church, am a post-millenist and a Christian reconstructionist. I do not believe in defeastist premillenism (essentially escapism). Our God reigns and is in complete control. I will not abandon society but will fight the good fight until I draw my last breath.

For those unfamiliar with Pat’s Run they can look at the website here …

    Honoring Pat Tillman

There were over 20000 people taking part this year. Also, there will be another Pat’s Run next weekend (4/25) in Pat’s hometown of San Jose, CA.

I was unable to take part this year but have made the run in the past. It is an awesome event.

I feel extra pride every time I go to a Cardinal’s game when I pass the statue of Pat as I walk across Pat Tillman Freedom Plaza to enter the stadium.

Nowak, who said he would soon travel to Washington for meetings with officials, also called for a comprehensive independent investigation into the matter and added it was important to compensate the victims.

I guess; PBHO is letting Daniel Ortega of Nicaragua, Chavez of Venezuela and the other tin pan dictators of Latin America run down America as he sits there-Summit of the Americas. Of course PBHO has transnationalism-touting Yale Law School Dean Harold Koh spouting how America needs to be subject to European law–sharia comes later I guess. Obama crawls like a whipped dog-dragging us with him- in front of one murdering dictator after another and WE talk of compensating the victims.

As I said earlier–for the current emergency I am flying the Gadsden Flag.

And why does Fox News not have somebody to represent the conservative point of view? I like Chris Wallace — he is not on our side…he is down the middle — but they have loved Graham when he is despised by the majority of the party and his Team McCain couldn’t elect a county sheriff. McCain, too, gets treated like he is still an important voice and gets airtime that should go to an actual conservative. Disgusting.

It’s now Sunday morn, so I guess I’m a little late to this thread.

I’ll toss out a request, or perhaps it is more of an idea.

I’m hoping to find an easy to use, hopefully single source, resource for checking voting records at both state and federal levels. One issue I have is the convoluted, completely misleading nature of bill titles. Often the content is exactly opposite of what the title suggests. While I am not suggesting a “filtered” site, it sure would be nice to have a set of links that allows checking up both on voting records and a “press 1 for english” button on the content of legislation. As has been suggested over and over on this and many other blogs, we need true leadership, whether that is from folks already in government or new candidates. A set of links that TELL THE TRUTH would be much welcomed and would certainly help me make more informed decisions. Am I asking too much?

The Sam Adams Alliance does “Fabulous work”? Like having an anti-Semitic “director of web strategy” and blog “trainer,” Emily Zanotti, who defends obscene, Holocaust-denying Muslim death threats against Jews? Like having a “director of web strategy” and blog “trainer,” who admittedly fabricates negative information about people because she’s upset that they exposed former ICE chief Julie Myers? Like having a “director of web strategy” and blog “trainer,” who lies about her credentials?

As I’ve e-mailed you before, Michelle, Sam Adams Alliance’s “director of web strategy” and blog “trainer,” Emily Zanotti, used her blog to defend Muslims death threats on my life and posted completely made up information about me–falsely claiming I had four defamation complaints with the state bar and saying I wrote that students and faculty at her law school were anti-Semitic (when I’d never written about her school at that point), all of which she had to recant, after I was about to sue her. In her “recantation” e-mail, she lied and said she had “several graduate and post-graduate degrees.”

She said she was allowed to make up false, defamatory information about me because she was upset I wrote bad things about the “stellar” Julie Myers.

After this came to light at her last employer, she was allowed to gracefully “resign for personal reasons” only six months into the job, after spending all day long blogging instead of working on law cases. When she got caught, she removed the time stamps from her blog.

This sick woman’s salary and trips around the country to “train” other bloggers is what you helped raised money for, Michelle.

Sam Adams Alliance’s own half-witted lawyer admitted to me in a letter that this woman lied her credentials. Why is this behavior okay on the right? And why would you raise money for a person who defends Muslim death threats on a blog and openly and deliberately lies about third parties, to be a blog trainer to conservatives around the country?

This is the message you endorse? Very disturbing.

One other thing, Michelle about the organization, Sam Adams Alliance, and the “fabulous work” you claim they do in “open[ness] transparency and blogivism,” their half-witted lawyer even had the chutzpah to threaten in writing to sue me if I dared exercise free speech and write further about their “director of web strategy” and blog “trainer,” Emily Zanotti’s defamatory lies, her fabricated credentials, and support for Muslim, anti-Semitic death threats on my life, that they would sue me. Uh-huh, that sounds like open, transparent and good for blogivism. Right. “Fabulous,” Michelle.
