I’m in Chicago tonight for the “Sammies” awards — presented by the Sam Adams Alliance. They do fabulous work on open government, transparency and blogivism. Full list of award winners here. Congrats to all!

Nowak, who said he would soon travel to Washington for meetings with officials, also called for a comprehensive independent investigation into the matter and added it was important to compensate the victims [of putative "torture"].

Compensator; an appliance fitted to the muzzle of a firearm, sometimes incorporating a device that silences the report of firing.

We can hope he was talking about that kind of “compensate” as applied to the terrorists….

The Sam Adams Alliance does “Fabulous work”? Like having an anti-Semitic “director of web strategy” and blog “trainer,” Emily Zanotti, who defends obscene, Holocaust-denying Muslim death threats against Jews? . . .

I am not a supporter of the Sam Adams Alliance, heck, I wasn’t aware of their existance until now. I followed the link and gave their page a cursory examination, and did not immediately find anything offensive.

Yes, you have shared information with MM about a single individual, who works with/for an organization – understood. However, I find it difficult to accept taking SAA to task over what one single employee does on her own BLOG. Yes, it is done, sometimes too often, and sometimes recklessly.

Your personal exchanges with Zanotti does not, and should not, impact any others person’s dealings with SAA.

I am sure there are single whack jobs in many other organizations, who do silly things not in the name of the organization, that will in many ways, big and small, who get under our individual skins.

I prefer to acknowledge this, but not to diminish an entire organization for it.

Insane. A so-called conservative organization hires a sick, lying woman who defends Muslim anti-Semitic death threats and fabricates false information on blogs, as its “blog trainer” and you think that’s okay? Then, I guess you think anti-Semitism is okay. Why not hire Goebbels, Adam Gadahn, or Ward Churchill to do their blog training? It does, indeed, diminish the entire organization. Defending Muslim death threats and making up actionable defamatory allegations is not “getting under out individual skins.” It is unacceptable.

    WAKE. THE. HECK. UP.

    Insane . . .

No. I do not think anti Semitism is OK. I post on your BLOG using the same screen name. So your guess is wrong. I choose ignore the incindiary names you mention.

    To be consistent -

Would you diminish an entire Police force for the actions of one rogue Police Officer? When that Police Officer beats their spouse off the clock.

Or, diminish AIPAC for what two of it’s members/supporters have done?

Or, diminish an entire family because thay have a black sheep sharing their surname?

    I wouldn’t.

I will agree that an organization has an obligation to protect it’s image, but taking that organization to task over one bad apple is akin to throwing out the baby with the bath water. OK, cliched, hackneyed and trite, but that is my position.

I am not asleep. I strive to be consistent, do you?
